Yup. It's a disgusting mentality. Watching all this I can't help but think of the tragedy and the 8 lives that were unnecessarily and horrifically lost yesterday at Astroworld, Travis Scott's concert. People were being crushed to death from the surging crowds, and dying. And because it was so packed, people were croud surfing the bodies of the dead and unconscious and severely unjured to the edges of the crowd, where extremely unequipped and inexperienced medical staff and security tried to save them. People were screaming at Travis and his workers on stage, even jumping on stage, telling him and his staff that people were literally dying and that he needed to stop performing. He stopped momentarily, and just continued 5 seconds later like nothing happened. There was an ambulance in the crowd desperately trying to get to the wounded people, but other people were jumping ontop of it and dancing. It was horrific to see in videos, I can't imagine what the people there who were being crushed to death felt like. There were bodies laying on the ground and medical personnel trying to resuscitate them, while others tried to help but most people were literally stepping over or on these dead and unconscious people, still filming the stage with their phones, still dancing, not even looking down. It was grotesque.

actual research with wrong statements? seeya never said they havent seen it happening, they have been told/shown (from the side of the stage) to continue (only Nam Gyu Ri didnt even see it at all as she was too focused on the performance). right after this performance/accident happened we were all waiting for a statement and wanted to know if the backup dancer was okay, so I remember that they were saying the staffs/manager-whoever people didnt want to stop the performance because the remix-promotion for that song was the first time for SeeYa to not sing live, they were known for their great vocals and live singing, so it would have been bad for their image or something if someone would find out this time it was not live (even though it was obvious but they tought no one would realize or whatever).

Omg that poor dancer with epilepsy...
As someone with epilepsy I'm just gonna add something here - they should have stopped the performance and cover her with something that lights stop triggering her more. They shouldn't drag her off the stage in the middle of her seizure, that's dangerous. They just needed to put her on her side that she doesn't lay on her back and that should have been it. Man...I'm so angry and sad at the same time.

I would have had no idea what to do if someone has a seizure around me, but what you said makes a lot of sense. In the clip, she seemed to be reaching out toward other people, is that something she could control? The danger of a seizure is mainly to choke/asphyxiation, since the tongue muscle is also seizing up, right?

    • @me9981
      @me9981 2 роки тому +27

@@aJazzyFeel I hope you will never see someone having a seizure because it's a scary and sad thing to see but if it happens the only two things you need to do is lay the person on the side so that person doesn't choke with spit or tongue and call emergency. That's it.
Also, to be honest I know many people with epilepsy and I've read about it a lot, but I've never heard someone could control their seizures. But there are many different kind of seizures so maybe I missed some... I don't remember mine at all and I also don't remember basically the whole day when the seizure happened and most of the day after.

@@me9981 thank you for replying! yeah, from what I've garnered in informative videos and comments like yours, I never once heard that someone can control their seizure. that's why the girl in the video was even more eerie to watch. i'm not sure the staff was trained on epilepsy, based on how long it took for them to step in. I don't wanna ride on this topic for too long but the last I'll say is that what bothers me the most in the video is that the left the girl seized up on the floor for a while it seems. i'm not blaming the performers, i'm blaming the staff that didn't immediately rush over. even if what they did is wrong and dangerous, did they think she would just stop having the seizure? even i know that they're not just like "whoopsie my leg gave out now i'm on the floor but i'm okay and getting up, sorry!" but it can take a WHILE to stop. i'm truly thinking that none of the staff knew what epilepsy looks like, or the staff asked the manager first and the manager gave the go-ahead to continue until the staff went anyway. all in all, shitty situation for everyone involved. shitty to witness.

heechul also did that comeback (2007) right after his car accident instead of being able to get the proper rest and treatment. the strenous dancing caused the metal rod implanted in his leg to bend and didn't allow his leg to fully heal. heenim continued to push through this for over a decade and a little known fact is due to his leg he's actually classified as disabled in SK which is why he didn't have to go for active duty in the military, and despite that classification he still received/recieves hate for going into civil services and sitting out from comebacks now :/ and if we're talking about returning to work too soon, kyuhyun literally did this comeback (2007) after recovering from a coma from a separate car accident along with 3 more members... suju has gone through way too much to be the punching bag of kpop so pls be kind to them and not blindly believe the false stories constantly spread about them :(

Stans/fans try to hype their favs up for everything, even for the simplest things like being profissional and in this run to prove that someone is profissional they ignore some red flags, like someone not being physically well and performing, or hyping up that x idol showed up after someone close to them passed away, that’s not professional that’s just sad and ignores the human behind the performer, people deserve time to rest, to heal, to grieve, that’s not even just about kpop idols is about all workers, all people.
After all it’s the industry’s fault but sometimes fans don’t help at all, I wish in the end of the day that we( fans) and the companies could see them as humans but I think it’s almost impossible cause the industry is built by the view of seeing them as products, and they certainly market idols as such, which make a lot of fans say that something is profissional but it’s just abuse.
And in the end of the day isn’t like most workers who are at the bottom have time to heal, to grieve and such, anyway if they can exploit you they will ;)

Also Company/Managers: _She broke her leg._

This reminds me of something Joy from red velvet said in a fansign after wendy, one of her members, had a nearly fatal accident on stage which left a lot of her body fractured.
"We always expect that these dangerous situations might occur when we go on stage, but it came true for wendy unnie..."
The fansign was a few days after the incident, so luvies(the fans) were obviously itching to know how she was doing, seeing as how the rest of the girls were already back on schedules. All the members took their time to talk about Wendy.
It broke my heart. No one should have to feel that way - that they have a chance of essentially dying every time they go to work. But the k-pop industry seems to have conditioned their artists and fans alike.
If we all protested against these mistreatments a little more, maybe they would listen. But we forget. And that's the problem.

“The show must go on” mentality is something that i will never be on board with😒 I understand the possibilities of getting scolded or fired by your managers for stopping…but if I saw a fellow teammate get hurt in such a cruel way or they’re clearly suffering from something serious- my immediate instincts would be to stop moving and see if they’re okay.
I’m not blaming these idols for this- I’m blaming their managers and the overall work culture in this industry. I know that they’re told to continue performing and whatnot and it’s honestly sick. It doesn’t help the idols either because they’ll be scrutinized for not helping. Literally who wins in this situation?
And I feel bad for BTS and their backup dancers. What if that didn’t work? Was it honestly worth it? Not only did they risk their own lives just to keep the show going but they could’ve honestly hurt so many people. What they should’ve done was call the backup dancers off the stage and alert the members to stop jumping and to stop any harsh stomps/movements...I am incredibly certain that Thai Army’s wouldn’t have rioted against them stopping their performance.

It was due to his own decision, but still! That just made us fans suffer and worry so much. He's one of the top dancers of TVXQ and he said that the doctors told him, if he would make the injury worse, he could possibly never dance again. I’ve been practicing for over a decade (I do metal vocals) and it’s very different from just screaming. It requires a lot of vocal trading and most “screamers” are singers as well. Even back then (I’m old) they had the software available to heavily distort vocals to sound like they’re screamed and play it with the backing track to not damage the vocalist’s voice and throat. Having Heechul do that is completely irresponsible, the least they could’ve do is have someone come in to work with him on how to properly do it.

The culture is so ingrained in everyone's mind that even the idols end up feeling like they are not meant to stop performing even if something goes wrong. And if you ever, ever, ever read a company statement saying they didn't know the idol wasn't well, that the idol insisted on performing... BULLSHIT. They are told to perform no matter what at all times. From early trainee stages. It becomes a part of them.

i had no idea the staff at the bts concert held a collapsing stage up with their bare hands. that is insane and was probably the longest and most frightening 4 minutes of the staff's life. the 9muses accident is crazy.

I appreciate some idols professionalism but the SeeYa one should've stop immediately. Someone is literally having a epileptic seizure and the dancers and SeeYa members were still performing? And how could the agency not know this about the backup dancers seizure????

A bit ago, UA-cam recommended this video in my feed, probably because I had previously watched this video. Despite having seen clips here, I did not recognize the song and watched it unprepared. Wow! That is really upsetting to see unexpectedly. Poor girl. How could they continue on? Just stop, take care of the situation, and start over again!
