  • Plantar Fasciitis and Heel Pain are the most common conditions of the foot and ankle. Most exercise and PT programs miss these critical exercises. Most treatments focus on the symptoms and not the cause. These exercises for heel pain and plantar fasciitis focus on the cause of the irritation by addressing biomechanical issues in the chain.

If all the stretching in the world doesn't help, a night splint may do the trick.
I recommend the Strassburg sock to my patients: amzn.to/3bvrn3j

I've been hiking for almost two years now (from switzerland to turkey) and always struggle with pf. I've worked a lot on my body since then (hips, pelvis, pelvic tilt, glutes, posterior tibialis, flexor hallucis longus...) but your approach has been the most effective for me so far :)

Do you know of any excercises or devices that build the calves?

Single leg heel raises wtih both straight knee and flexed to knee to emphasize gastrocnemius and soleus. Be sure to load weight to the exercise for hypertrophy.
