Now that's Van Halen in their prime!!! Untouchable!!
1984 at the Cow Palace, was at Ft Ord, drove to SF with a buddy and took the bus back, it was maximum entertainment at maximum volume. simple
Lucky to see them very next year same venue Diver Down...yes sir best band ever
This was when The Mighty Van Halen ruled the world.
I used to work at the MidSouth Coliseum as an usherette during the early to mid 70s in my early teens. This is fantastic!!
Spot on solo! EVH = Greatest rock guitarist of all time!
I was 13 yrs old when my uncle barry gave me 3 8tracks to take home. One was the eagles the long run, second one was VH II and the 3rd was Fairwarning. Omg did I wear them out. To this day fair warning is my favorite VH album. Thank you Uncle for showing me the way.
RIP
Now THAT is VAN HALEN right there.
Kings!!!!
How he makes that Star Trek communicator sound is beyond me
nice concert to see back in 1981...!!!
how they sang the harmonies live and dead on pitch is amazing
THE best concert tour ever. I was at the first night in Oakland Ca on 6/11/81. Haven’t seen anything yet that could come close.
Wow, this is fuckin insane....and better yet it was recorded on my 15th birthday!!! Thank you for this post!!!
i was born on September 1st 1981 in the central time zone at 9:06pm. It's amazing to know that i was properly celebrated!
Wow I was at that show. I was 9. Still remember it vividly!
Nice!!
Love this tune
TO BAD THERE ISNT A HIGH QUALITY VIDEO AND SOUND OF THIS WHOLE CONCERT. THIS WAS THE REAL SHIT AND THEIR GREATEST TOUR FROM THEIR BEST ALBUM !
Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls. The Mighty Van Halen! You may now bow!!
Very RARE Van Halen video! Cool.
This took place on my B-day...I turned 15 years old!
totally untouchable. they were pure badass
I was at this concert back in 1981. Still have my ticket stub! One of the arms in the air down front belongs to me! What a blast from the past! Thanks for sharing.
VH at their leanest and meanest, not a player before or since could touch Edwards brilliance and fire here. Wow.
This is absolute gold! To think how long this laid dormant from us all.
HOLY FUCKS! IN THIS VIDEO WE ACTUALLY GET TO SEE THE VIDEO! :D
GREAT ! UPLOAD MORE PLEASE!
I love their commanding live endings to songs that fade out on the album. Wish I was there!
It's hard to comprehend how good these guys were
we need more please!
My all time favorite!!!!
The Mighty Van Halen! Enough said. You may all bow now. VH rlz! 🤘🏽🎸
AWESOME. Thank you for sharing!!!!
Exactly!
Hope you can upload more dude, thanx anyway!
Awesome. totallay awesome.sp
Thanks for sharing!
Yes Thank You-With all the bullshit on here/VH saves the Day/Good Times/THey were in fine form during the Fair Warning Tour/Peruvian Marching Powder in full effect. This Shit is LIT--- - VH-
Ķings!!! Badest Mofo's ever! Eddie is still the undefeated heavyweight champion of the world and he was taken from us!!!
exactly... glad you see the brilliance of this one... Even though the quality is still *not* great...it's a ton better than previous versions of this floating around where you could barely make out EVH from DLR. haha....
Would love to see this song back on their set list.
Wow
What a great video, you should upload it as a full concert
Omg I was there ..my first concert when I moved to Memphis
Just graduated high school
God you sure know who DLR is. He never slows down. Wish I could of seen them live back then. Life sucks sometimes
yeah NOT going to VH in 1981 does suck now!
The Mighty Van Halen You all have NO IDEA, I saw them in 1981, 1982, 1984 and 1986 and Roth was AWESOME. Hagar was a good show but with Dave he brought California to MD and it was so friggin cool. The one thing I miss the most is Dave's scream. He just doesn't have it. And the Interwebs is awesome. NONE of this live shit was available. You had to watch MTV and hope to see a video that wasn't Jump. Fair Warning was my fav album. Then they come out with Diver Down. I wanted to kill them.
Jake Lakota I agree about Diver but you have to admit the VH originals on Diver Down are just as good as anything else they put out. The covers ruined what would have been an all out great album.
Jake Lakota They were amazing back in those days. you must've seen the Largo shows 81-86. Sweet!
Diggerdog2nd everyone dogs Diver Down...but as you say the 4 originals are *amazing*. And a few too many covers, ok.. but I still have zero problems w that album.
Eddie went off on that solo huh?
So good 👍
Also, sounds like his amp was way louder than the other guys....
yes! VH 1981 = pure gold. Too bad any real PRO-SHOT footage still lays dormant under lock and key.
Yes!!
This is how I remember them---in their prime, so much energy! Edward was at his best on this tour! This is why I couldnt go and see them in this century (no offense to Wolfgang.)Too depressing to see how much slower they were, how badly Dave aged, eddies tone just wasn't the same------and no Michael anthony!
Saw them in Madison Square Garden 7/17/81. Lodge side of stage Holy Crap the only show that came close was Led Zep in 75.
7/17/81 .nice!! Think i have that show on CD.
+The Mighty Van Halen I was at the July 17th MSG show .... cut school the whole week ...
saw the Nassau show and the Philly 3 .... mostly a blur now ....
Lotta substance abuse ... LOL !! ... but the similarities
from this one and the shows I was at ring out some real lost memories ...
Amazing times ....
Happy New Year !!! 2016 !!

Soon you’ll see my silhouette........
Nice
believe me if you saw van halen in their early days you would laugh at the hagar era
omg i wish.. i was only 10 but Fair Warning was so legend and menacing. . how could you not love it?!
mecha gojira69 no kidding to that, saw them in 78 everyone was still screaming leaving the building into the parking lot!,never ever seen that before!!!
I saw them with both lead singers..but the show of all show came when they toured with Metallica, Kingdom Cone, Scorpions and Dokken
I was 2 when the debut came out so I obviously didn't get to see them, but I still laugh at the Hagar era!
@@jironthunder7519 My very first concert , Inglewood Forum in Los Angeles 1981, I was 15 😁..It was awesome🤙🤙🤙🎸🎸🎸🎸😁🍺😃🤙

Wow in a good way. Very cool to bad sound wasn't better
This ain't rare. I saw them perform this, more than once. The audio is not all that fabulous here, but, man, these guys were ruling rock at this time!
Where is the rest of the show? this is great
6 people like Van Cherone
David Lee Roth- best singer? Nope, but greatest frontman in rock history and whomever you choose for second isn't even in his universe.
Freddy Mercury ?
Pasadena Bad Asses
You wanna epic rock song, this is it. Throw a brick on the gas peddle and cut the brake line. "We ain't the Clash baaaaby!"
I get no video for some reason...I'm on my iPhone, but that shouldn't make difference?
At least Dave remembered half the lyrics anyways. The band behind him as always perfect. With out the band Dave's not even as good as Bret Michaels who sings correctly in concert. And I hate Poison !
very untrue statement. Dave's singing was fine, he could be loose with the lyrics or skip parts, yes....
