This was really epic to watch! I especially liked the transitions between the simulated dimension. I love seeing people taking my creations and reusing them in imaginative ways, one of the reasons I love modding :)
Thank you so much! I'm glad that this nonsense of a fight meets the standards of the modder who made the central feature of it. From feedback I've gotten on this fight, the Wither Storm's direct involvement in the fight is the part most shocking and thrilling to people. Seeing this thing reposition so fast and require direct confrontation is almost antithetical to what CWSM normally does, but somehow, the Wither Storm is so versatile that it actually works. So extra thanks for adding the commands and datapack compatibility to make such an unusual encounter possible.
By far the best final boss i have ever seen made with data packs. The time and effort put into this is incredible! I wish Explorer's Eve got more traction
I don't know where else to contact you and give my regards, but this video is what convinced me to give Explorer's Eve a try. I found out really quickly that my least favorite part of the experience was dying and trying to run back through the storm in the vain hope of getting my stuff, so I've been doing hardcore attempts just to cut out the temptation. I've gone through about 18 now and the fact is that the core gameplay loop is so engaging it keeps me coming back for more and more every time, even when i die in full Naga Scale + Ironwood (The furthest I've gotten). I can't wait to eventually see the other parts of this modpack and this quite frankly aweomse final encounter. Seriously, this is a testament to how few mods you actually need for an engaging experience, my regards! Here's hoping when the update comes out it has some stuff for the beginning of the game for me to experience because I can't seem to get out of the twilight forest yet x3
Thanks so much! I'm not sure how much longer it'll take to release 1.5.3. I've discovered a bug with the latest CWSM version that breaks this true final battle, so I'm currently waiting for that to be fixed (it's apparently in beta and it'll be a small update, so hopefully not long?). You may be pleased to know that 1.5.3 takes steps to reduce the pain caused by dying. For a couple of highlights, Wither Storm chases last for less time (7 minutes instead of 10, in practice this doesn't make it much easier but it does make it less tedious) and bed spawn points remain even if a bed is broken (no more 7k block walk of shame if you just bring a bed with you). Oh, and the Wither Storm's death mercy system has been revamped, so it should stay distracted until the player gets powerful enough gear to warrant its attention. Thanks again for trying this pack, and I hope you'll stick around to see the improvements coming in 1.5.3!
Update! Made it out of the Twilight Forest via the "rainbow" method, this pack is so good. I felt so accomplished, even though i died from panicking when I started hearing it breaching the dimensional barrier. Super excited for the changes, but hardcore has been so unfathomably rewarding (finally escaping made me hoop and holler) I might just stay on it x3
@@sm644me oh yeah thanks for telling me btw, another question tho i assume you locked entity radar on the minimap on purpose but how would i turn it on
Good news: From my testing, it works properly in multiplayer, so once the update comes out, everything should work great! Less-good news: Still waiting on CWSM to update to fix a critical bug that causes the game to crash during this fight. I can't promise a time when it'll be ready, but it *really* shouldn't be too many more weeks now.
Insane job, I'm more and more curious about how to work with mcfuntions. So well done! When I first realize that storm can teleport between dimensions my heart jumped off. That should be in main mod in my opinion)
No idea if it's just me or not but when I took on this bossfight, it abruptly ended after the Storm, as if it it thought it was somewhat a normal wither storm. And when it died, it took my Nether Star with it.
Now I don't want to jump the storm here since I didn't fully watch the video, but at 16:13 you got chomped once by the storm with full ignitium armor presumably and it still 1-shotted you.
Not Ignitium, but yeah, getting chomped is one of the gimmicks of this battle. I had pearls and refused to use them, and it said no. Normally it's a regular amount of damage, but in the final battle, being able to just get lifted up and be fine is not going to happen.
When playtesting, I normally prevent myself from using Explorer's Treasures to make sure things are fair even without the good stuff. I used them in this video to show them off, but I can guarantee that they're not necessary. They just make it a lot easier.
this could potentially be fixed by nerfing the health of most bosses, as they’re a bit too tanky. instead, i think having it more like a beatdown where you destroy originally challenging bosses would be better.
Yes, eventually! It's not a very high priority due to the added 1.20 content not being very impactful on its own, but I do plan on porting to future Minecraft versions eventually to have access to some more interesting mods. Don't expect it to be anytime soon, though.
@@sm644me Oh okay. Thanks for the info. I really feel like more people should know about this pack because of how underrated it is ! It feels like a campaign for Minecraft

this is the insanity you get when you mix extremely well made mods and insanely well made datapacks

"Everyone is here..."
The simulated part reminds me of a soul rematch in a Kirby game, with the Storm teleporting and summoning 10000000 different attacks.
