    Coming back again and again to that Inner Silence until there is the natural abidance?

      @rblais 6 місяців тому +1

      Yes, it is very simple, if we just try to hold on to our own being exclusively, the more our love to do so will increase, and eventually we will turn completely within and so remain as we truly are.

      In the sixth paragraph of Nāṉ Yār? (Who am I?) Sri Ramana says:
      ‘[...] If other thoughts rise, without trying to complete them it is necessary to investigate to whom they have occurred. However many thoughts rise, what [does it matter]? As soon as each thought appears, if [one] vigilantly investigates to whom this has occurred, it will become clear that [it is] to me. If [one thus] investigates who am I, the mind will return to its birthplace; the thought which had risen will also subside. When [one] practises and practises in this manner, to the mind the power to stand firmly established in its birthplace will increase. [...]’
      Or see the sixteenth paragraph of Nāṉ Yār? (Who am I?), in which he defines ātma-vicāra as the simple practice of keeping our mind or attention fixed firmly on self (ātmā).

      How can Sri Ramana be a solipsist when there is no such thing as the self . Even modern neuropsychologists have the view that their is no fixed thing as the self .
      Even if you can classify Sri Ramana as a solipsist then it is a very special type of solipsism . How can it be that thousands of people like myself born after Sri Ramana ' died ' , and born in a totally different culture on a different continent, have been drawn ( pre internet ) to a person who had little more than a loin cloth , a walking stick , some sandals , and a water pot ? 🕉️
