- Hey all,
In today's video we install paddle shifters in the G8! This will allow for a much more ease when using the manumatic function, plus they just look OEM and super clean in my opinion! Hope you enjoy, and don't forget to like, comment and subscribe for more videos every week! Catch you in the next one!

I just did those about 6 months ago myself. John does a awesome job. Great guy. They work great and have been problem free and feel like factory. This is how the car should of came from factory.
I couldn’t agree more on both of those! It’s surprising they didn’t come equipped with them since it was a performance car, and paddle shifters were definitely a thing around the time these were made!
Can you share a link for those?
how did u wire the back up camera. I have the same setup as you and the rear cam installed but no clue on how to wire it
If your video cord has a wire sticking out on both ends you wire that to the reverse trigger and then use the reverse light power wire to trigger the camera. I usually combine the power and trigger wire and wire them both to the cars reverse power wire so that the camera is only on in reverse. The ground can be grounded anywhere that’s bare metal but if possible I usually just wire it to the ground wire of the reverse light
This is absolutely awesome. I really wanna do them now lol. Why wouldn’t they come with them from factory!
Does the kit work for 2010 Chevy Lumina? Middle Eastern versions. Late comment, I know.
Unfortunately I’m not sure if the wiring harness is any different, but I think it would!
@nickwicks4539 I thought the same, since both G8s and Luminas have almost the same interior. BTW do you know how can I get the kit? I'll give it a shot in my car. And thanks for your help.
@@micahvanelyas3932 no problem! John Faust in the Pontiac G8 Owners group makes the kit so all you have to do is shoot him a message and see if he can get you taken care of! Not sure if he ships outside the US or not
I thought you'd take a ride with the new paddle shifter work :) Did that improve your appreciation of the car?
I did indeed take it for a test drive after installing them but I didn’t own the car much longer afterwards so I definitely didn’t get a ton of use out of them
I would definitely say it felt like an oem+ mod that should’ve came from the factory it was amazing!
Boom, my thoughts exactly.... Which is what Dodge did when they did the RT Scat Hellcats.... shame...@@nickwicks4539
Any updates? still working well? Would you rather have the taller paddles?
Unfortunately I sold the car a while back so I can’t do an update but personally I loved the low profile ones, they’re the same way on my mustang and I love it
where did you get paddle shifters from
There’s a guy in the G8 owners group that makes the kits that I used! I believe his name is “John Faust” if memory serves correctly
I'm tempted to try these out. Where did you get them? Also, which head unit are you using? I'd love to add an aftermarket radio with reverse camera.
Got them from John Faust in the G8 owners group, he builds the kits. The head unit was a Pioneer 2400nex with a aeropro climate control surround, only available through G8only here in the US 🤘🏼
Do you have to move the shifter to S/M before being able to use the paddles?
Sorry I missed this comment! I never tried it just in drive so unfortunately I can’t elaborate on that
Off topic question.
I have the base model, wanted a GT or the holy grail GXP but the closest one in my area was Jersey. But since I live in Massachusetts I wasn't driving 4 hours for a car so I went with the base model because it was available. Any how can I find the light up steering wheel and window controls? Mine doesn't have that. Is it only a GT and GXP thing? Also sorry about the background story.
Also also link to the shifters please.
You have to message @John Faust in the G8 owners group for the shifters and no worries glad to help! As far as the SWC and window switches go if it is the case where yours don’t light up they might be faulty, I believe they’re the same parts through all models
Glad to be back on another marathon of your videos. Keep at it bro!!
Been slacking, hopefully next week will be back on it!
Do you have a link to this kit?
A guy named John Faust (I think that’s right) in the G8 owners group makes the kit he doesn’t have a website 😁
I have a Pontiac g8 v6 with the base model radio..it's lame 😂..I want to change it out but seems like to much of a hassle...any information you have let me no please...I done all skar audio door speakers front to back...
Hey sweet ride. Thanks for the vids. Hey could I please get the links to your paddle shifters and also to the stereo and adapter kit. Thanks !
Stereo is a Pioneer AVH-2400nex off Amazon
Stereo kit is from G8only.com
Paddle shifters are from John Faust in the Pontiac G8 Owners group on Facebook
And thank you! 🙌🏼

You don’t have to do no programming?
Did not require any programming 😁
Do they work on the v6?
I do not know if they do or not

This should make it a bit easier for people to follow!
