That outstanding visual of people just stubbornly marching forever and the man dragging the 6 screaming children is phenomenal. Literally an insanely good story. One of the top 10 bangers you have narrated easily
Spoiler: Turns out the main character here is actually a woman (with military background). She plays a vital role in the following stories and is ... complicated.
This story is incredible! I love the use of light in it. It's super common to see darkness in horror but this story uses light as its terrors. The darkness entity can only possess sources of light, the zombie creatures can only be seen in the light, the eye workers can bring you into their network by shining a light into your eye and the blue/red shifting light of the time world. Oh and orbital fucking death beams. I just think its an interesting motif throughout the story
Well, you know what they say, even the devil will come to you as an angel of light. The author really went worlds beyond - pun not intended - your typical internet horror writer into fleshing out a concept. Btw, you forgot to mention the very child of light that started the whole thing. I'd love to sit around with some witty stoners and have an in-depth conversation about light itself, and how supposedly, everything, including ourselves, is made of cristalized light.
The concept of earth trapped into a time bubble, receiving more light and blue shift and what not, as well as establishing a colony on mars that would evolve much faster than us, seems to be as borrowed from the Spin trilogy, by Robert Charles Wilson Just in case y'all are interested in giving it a try
I really liked this one. I noticed that a constant theme is the interplay between light and darkness. The first world has the darkness entity that jumps between light sources, the second has the invisible corpses that can only be seen under direct light (super creepy), the third has the red brainwashing lights, the fourth has the blue shifted light that killed the world and the red shifted light that froze Mars. I wonder if this is intentional symbolism. The one responsible is a light entity after all.
Don't forget that along with the usage of blue shifted light and red shifted light, the fourth world is now being forever burned by burning, bright fires.
This is actually one of my favorite stories you've ever told, all of the voice actors did a phenomenal job and there is so much depth in the world building

I hardly ever comment in your videos, but I feel like this is a special one. The amount of depth and relationship developments on the MC's part really stuck to me. How he saw these kids as nothing but strangers and potential nuisances at first, before gradually building a trusting bond with them. At the end, MC was ready to let himself get torn apart by interdimensional zombies before they could even lay a single finger on one of his children. It's really sweet. Great job, Ronnie! I've been subscribed to your channel for so long that I've honestly lost count. You make our nights a bit more interesting with these narrations 🥰
Spoiler: These relationships are very important in the later stories and play a big role in the MC's overall character development. It also turns out that the MC is a woman.
Ronnie, I know you're not doing it for just me but these past few upload times has been perfect for my drive to work. Thank you for always putting your soul into narrating and composing music for your stories.
Holy crap! Story is amazing, I literally couldn't stop thinking about it driving home. I imagined this could be turned into a movie with your narration/main character. Kids training like softer version of Currahee running from Band of Brothers. Obsidian planet like Dune but dead etc etc. Plus great mystery of what Thomas read about main character. Basically darker Dr. Who movie. Great work on your side too Dark. You have undulled my work today.

That’s so kind of you to say, thank you so much! 🥹❤️

😂
Hold up MC's first thought was the portal to another dimension??????
YOUR FIRST THOUGHT
JFC!
😬
That iworker story is *chilling*
He hints at dealing with paranormal stuff throughout his life, might just be experience
@@jeremymontasser6182 The MC is a woman btw! And if TDS continues this series, this won't be the last time we hear from her.
Honestly, was one of the better stories I heard in the last 5 years.
Top 10 easy, movie worthy.
Spoiler:
These relationships are very important in the later stories and play a big role in the MC's overall character development.
It also turns out that the MC is a woman.
This is one of my all time favorite stories! Perfect timing, and I’m looking forward to listening!
Glad you enjoy it!
Ronnie, I know you're not doing it for just me but these past few upload times has been perfect for my drive to work. Thank you for always putting your soul into narrating and composing music for your stories.
im so glad youre enjoying the stories and they have been able to help your drive to work haha :) have a great day!
Ronnieeeeeee. This one was soooo goooooood. Made it through my graveyard shift with the stimulating events of this story. You’re the best, dude~ THE BEST
im so glad you liked it!
The subtle nuances of this story are soo good. The parts about his daughter were so well written
Yes thank you so much ive been so excited waiting on this !
You are so welcome!
this channel is so insanely good both long and short stories with cool sound design. absolutely love it
Reminded me of that one movie about a kid who's dreams and nightmares came to life, beautifully written
That story of time dilation has got to be the most creative apocalypse I’ve ever heard! A story that leaves aspects up to mystery usually keeps me hooked, but that story told everything exactly as it happened and I was invested in the whole thing!
Thank goodness there is a new video, guys at work are drivin me nuts, and this will help keep me sane! Thanks Ron!
haha i hope you like the story!
i’ve been listening to your videos since 2020 and i love how far they’ve come, i still go back and listen to when gods blink and it still hold up to even this masterpiece that i’ve been hyped for since months? ago and it really live up to it and more, thank you for what you do, it’s truly unique and incredible
I love these long stories helps me get through work and always puts some new thoughts in my mind
These interdimentional kind of sci fi stories are the best. Definitely checking out the author
The part where he saves the kids in the cleansing light dimension gave me goosebumps all over 😮 this is my favorite story you've done so far!!!
❤ I absolutely loved this story... Once I started listening to it, the story grabbed hold of me and I had to take a break from working on the page I had been working on coloring, the story was just so good I couldn't do anything else but sit there and listen...
My man I am sooo grateful to you for doing this story again!! thank you for the awesome narrations. I'm excited to listen to this :)
Hope you enjoy it!
Wow this author really knocked it out of the park with taking so many creative story concepts and fleshing them out into this series! Amazing job with the narration and audio design bringing it all to life, you've done it once again. Bravo.
the way I am SO psyched right now,. I just finished one of your older stories while I'm working and then this popped up. Let's GOOOOOOO!!!!!
yay! i hope you like the story! have a great day!
@@Darksomnium It was brilliant Ronnie! The ending made me cry happy tears!
This one had me in tears. I knew from the start the entity had to be one of them. But it wasn’t him. Spectacular.
I love these collabs. It's so much fun to be surprised by the next familiar voice 😊
My husband and I are addicted to this channel. We recommend each other stories to listen to. He recommended this one. It's soooooo good!!
Very interesting story! Held my attention the whole time even through alternate universes and time travel type storyline which for me is difficult to follow most times. This was very well written and you did a wonderful job narrating in a way that made it easy to follow
I fucking love this channel. What an incredible story too! Thanks for your hard work
U don’t even understand how much I enjoy these
I think this might take the place as one of my favorite stories ive listened to/read. The ending is so sweet, the main character is so cool (even if we get no intro to him). I want more of the MC and Thomas fighting through apocalypses and saving worlds.
Finally, you finish this. I thought you abandoned it, it was one of my favorites.
sorry it took so long haha, I hope you like the rest of it!
Borrasca V in a nutshell :) I still have hope.
Not only was this narration top tier the story was incredibly compelling as well. I think this might be one of my favorite stories on this channel
The third one....
Holy shit, it's dark AF....
Thanks for narrating. You made my day
The 3rd once hits harder because we all know that it's closer to reality and could actually happen.
Yess another Matt Dymerski story by team dark somnium. What a treat!🤩
The female narrator in part 1 is by far my favorite guest narrator. So phenomenally talented.
You know its gonna be life-changing when its a 2+ hour long story
B)
Thanks!
You're great at keeping your uploads suspenseful. I've been waiting for this for a while.
Im excited to see what you think!
@Darksomnium Finished it, I loved it. The sound design was so good 👍.
Thanks for all the great narrations and stories. You are, in my opinion, the greatest of all youtube storytelling channels on the hole platform:)
Love this channel! Just got home from work, time to relax to a great story!
i hope you like it! :)
This is really good!!!! Thank you Somnium!!!! (Also there was a part where I couldn’t hear a kid as he was telling MC about the kids falling into the portal, not sure if you know :) 1:28:40 (this is a little after
Thanks for your stories, you’re loved
Oh man! When he opened the book to the back and Viidith22's voice sounded... that was nice! Didn't even know he was going to appear in this!
after finishing this story, all i can say is damn. i havent had a story make me this emotional since the left right game (which ive listened to way too many times to actually count). the storytelling and world building were absolutely phenomenal. the background noises and soundtracks you make for these just add to the experience. everything about this is a 10/10.
Thank you for the upload, this makes my work day so much better!
Glad to hear that!
flipping sweet! it nonchalantly introduced the portals and intermittently submerged us in the culture, setting, and wonder. It was beautifully written and original. So refreshing. I want more of this writer... and the narrator :3 rawr, boy. rawr.
Just in time, now I got something to listen to as I sleep. Thanks as always!
sweet dreams!
Omg this needs to be a movie or show!!!!! This is perfectly amazing!!
I and many more really appreciate the effort you put in these videos, hope you know that, keep it up !
wow thank you so much :)
This was absolutely incredible. I truly appreciate all the work and effort you put into these, and this was a masterpiece. But I need closure for that damn shoe!
Thank you, mrcreepypasta bailed out on this story halfway years ago but im glad you did it wholly.
This one was actually really good!!! Loved the anthology vibes with an overarching story
I find a book with mistakes and instead of blaming it on typos I automatically thinks “it’s from a different universe!” Totally checks out.
Exactly. Five minutes in, and I feel like I've missed something. The MC just accepts a portal like it's business as usual lol
@@devinvaldesalice7427I know! I kind of didn’t like the story after that. I love these stories because of Ronnie, but that doesn’t mean they are all gold.
I think it is in the SCPverse (the mentions of cognitohazards and use of anamolus as phrases)
@@knightsideify oh I hadn't gotten there yet! That just officially recaptured my interest lol
@@knightsideify I have no idea what that is. But still, that doesn’t explain how any normal person would just automatically assume it’s an alternate universe responsible for misprinted book. But to be fair I’m not a fan of sci fi or multiverse
Oh My God! Thank You ,thank you, thank you. I have waited literally years. Year's! To hear the end of this story and I cannot begin to express just how amazing it turned out to be. Very few times in life do you find the end of a thing to be so rewarding as its premise. I cannot agree enough with all those in the comnents that have said this should be a movie. However, I equally have to say that any million dollar Netflix special or Spielberg movie would completely fail to recreate what the Dark Somnium and my own imagination just run through. DS, you are the man bro, you and your cast of brilliant voice actors just blew my mind the ever F%$k away! Talk about edge of the seat excitement! Wow, what a rush. Congratulations and well done to all involved in what was pure magic . Also had to add that the clean cut at the end was the very best way you could have finished this. Mike drop and out! hahahah. With regards to the Legendery author and hearing more of Matts work? I for one would absolutely love to hear more of his work, the man has a universe of brilliance that is truly unique to him and it would be beyond awesome to hear more.Cheers guys, Lee
1 hour 30 minutes in and im absolutly in love with thsi story. I think this is next to the government prison story for me which is my all time favorite
I LOVED this story. The sounds, music, voice actors… just everything was put together so well. You really are amazing!!
Hey, Ronnie. This looks like quite the upload. So I'll leave my final thoughts in a couple hours once I'm done. Listening to it but thanks for such a huge project. I appreciate it. You have open a portal to your listeners hearts with your creepy stories and haunting voices.😉😆
Well, I finally finished it. And that was a wild ride that hand dove taking some time to put together, so I appreciate all the effort that went into it and everyone who worked on it. It made my afternoon very unique. Often the story will turn into a movie in my mind. As this one did and a few times I found it getting rather 90s, body horror and other times I felt getting rather Keanu Reeves The Matrix and it was great. I think this author is truly talented. And I'm glad I can add this to the collection of his tails that I've listened to. Well done ronnie, well done matt
I really loved this story, the world building, the details and the human depth this story gives you. I had to sitt down at many points to digest it all. What an amazing job you did Mr. Dymerski!
Please do more stories from him, Somnium!
i love the logic of "children wouldnt buy books... must be a portal to another universe!!"
I have listened to so many of your narrations but this one gotta be in my top 3 on your channel, such an amazing story. I love your content and you were and are my inspiration for starting my own narration channel, I hope to one day provide people of my country with such amazing content and sound design as yours. I wish you all the best and can't wait for Borrasca part 2!!!
Coincidentallu, I have to sit down for the next 2 and a half hours to format some work documents... *evil laughter*
haha good timing!
This is absolutely my favorite story you’ve narrated so far, the excellent storytelling is only heightened by the incredible sound design and voice acting work. Truly compelling every step of the way and with a happy ending to boot, pretty rare with these stories but always a nice surprise for a hopeless optimist like myself. Stellar work.
I'm 5 minutes in, and feel like I missed something important
Took me a bit to find the time to listen to it all, but that was really good. Got me crying near the end bits.
