All of y'all are fantastic as usual. But Dusk light Radio your ability to switch accents is amazing. There have been moments in past narrations I've had trouble telling if it's you or someone else. Again Fantastic job Romex and Dark
Ruth thinking she had shot a whistler but it turning out to be Ira is such a good twist. The description we are given sounds like a monster but as you find out it's actually Ira it gains a new perception, a skeletal lanky body of a man who's gone through starvation, the grown hair because he can't groom himself and the sunken eyes of one who lost his mind. My favourite part of the story, I liked Bill's account and finding out more or less what the whistlers are doing, but that small part was just too good. Great story and great narration as always, well done.
I think the meaning of "it's a warning" is this. The Whistlers were all human at one point, and they had each lived through "the corruption". They don't cause the corruption, the corruption is caused by fear of the Whistlers. People who run into them believe they have to kill to survive. The Whistlers call out to warn the group that the corruption has taken hold. It's also possible that another dark creature causes the corruption, and the Whistlers hunt those creatures. Everyone in the story was killed by another person. Every. Single. One. That's why Ira ended up running away from the group, because he finally understood what he had done, and what still afflicted his brother. But by that point, he was already becoming a Whistler himself. I know this doesn't explain everything, and I probably got some things wrong. But I do believe the corruption is the fear that causes people to kill each other or let each other die. And i do believe the call of the whistlers is a warning that the corruption has taken effect.
I don't really buy into the idea that people become the whistlers. Yes, there is probably some kinda corruption tied to fear, but I'm more on bills side at the end. Think they just use humans as bait to catch something else. Also, what do we figure, was the man that owned the books bill? And once he fulfilled his role in spreading the tale, bringing the whistlers to the attention of others, he offed himself?
I could just cry, my heart is so full seeing you finally do The Whistlers. It's my and my best friend's favorite story. We'd fall asleep together listening to this story, and now I get to hear it from you! Thank you sir, thank you.
So it is realistic and serious. Most of us are going to do this after we pass away. I’ve seen the same thing happen to my grandma, my father when he died in the hospital, and patients I’ve seen in med school practice. Ig it’s easier to laugh about it because it makes death less scary, but this act in itself is serious
Yt deleted my previous comment, so I’ll comment again: when someone passes away, all the muscles in the body relax. This means that all the contents in the bowel or bladder leak out. If your bowels are not empty before this, the same thing will happen to you
What i love about the stories on this channel is the lack of plot armor… Movies are great but you deep down know the good guys are gonna win, as to where in these stories pretty often the main characters die, making it more suspenseful and exciting.
@@hyperDarklord13ruth died after her boat got stranded on another part of the island, its implied she took her own after taking the jeep and running out of gas.
@@Akabinxstar this is correct, as far as context goes. I think Bill’s right and that she’s a whistler now, cursed to wander the woods, haunting any who find themselves lost inside, regardless of if they’re a dubious friend or truly a foe.
For sure I don’t like being cheated on any more than you do, but I also think that this story realistically depicted imperfect people making that mistake. It’s not always simply because someone wants to screw someone else and is using the person at home waiting for them. It’s easy to ignore our own involvement in difficult realities. None of us are perfect, and I think that’s what made these characters in this story so interesting. They all were responding to their journey as it led to desperation.
@@CreepyCat. I think that’s why it’s so bad. It wasn’t just a spur of the moment thing. The incident at the beginning maybe, but when you learn how deep it goes and how the brother had been pushing in for years and years it becomes really sad and dark. It’s a well written piece for sure, and the characters are all complex, which is why it’s interesting to analyze (and maybe complain about a little 😜)
This was a good one. The detailed descriptions of how the characters physically and mentally degraded over the course of the story were very strong. I think that's where most of the horror lies for me. Imagining what it would feel like to be that tired, hungry, and afraid.

That's creepy, how they are taunting their prey" and then when the dog actually turned out to be the thing they were hunting my brain put two and two together and I legit just froze for a minute. this is the kind of story I want more of, the more realistic version where you don't really know if the main character survives or not because the plot armor is just removed. The way it's being read as a person who got ahold of Ruth's journal instead of Ruth telling the story herself really helped with this. I also love how almost none of the backstory is explained immediately. It felt very naturally integrated into the story and not like I was being spoonfed exposition. I love it.

Round of applause, you all did an amazing job 👏

I never knew there was a part 2. Really kinda kills the good feelings of the whistlers but it does answer the question of why they just whistled when people were around. Also pretty cool that they just draw things to humans till the proper time as to attack. Also Bill is shown to be truly a SOB great. But in all seriousness it's a classic and I can't say I'm not glad to finally know the whole story.
Enjoy your trip! You deserve a break! Thanks for all the hours of enjoyment - I was just looking for something I could listen to and this was just posted :) you replied to a comment about me going through withdrawals a few months back and I really appreciated that, things have been rocky but the trajectory is always upwards, thanks again :)
Stellar production value! As if anyone expected anything else but a stuck landing. Looking forward to the next installment of that series you talked about by the way. That's one of those stories that you constantly say okay this is freakin bonkers. And then four things snap in place all at once and you wonder how you missed it in the details.
You are a Master storyteller and Romnex and Dusklight have such beautiful voices, I love listening to all of you! Thanks for such a wonderful narrative! Also kudos to the other contributors! You guys always have amazing collaborations! My favorite is “I work at a bar…”

I really just love all the voice actors, you’re all so talented and bring the stories to life. Favorite channel without a doubt! ❤ Enjoy your break and thanks for the long video!
First time listening to this creepypasta and you guys brought it to life so well!! Rom absolutely killed Ruth, favorite female voice in your videos hands down (All the others are wonderful too truly, but Romnex really embodies the character so well)
I've only ever come across one channel/podcast that covered this story (and they've only done Ruth's account) in the past five years so I'm happy to see this come up on your channel!!
Amazing as always. You guys sound so good together. You put so much life into your characters, that it is impossible, not to be drawn into the story. Thank you all for yet another exciting adventure. ♥
This was the most gripping and well written stories I’ve heard in a while. The lost journal premise of the narration, the “man vs. wild” theme paired with the threat of unknown cryptid-like predators hunting them…chefs kiss. If only I could get through the whole story without falling asleep…
The author of this one might've written/read too much erotica lol. A lot of Ruth's story was just "We're spooked but we haven't heard the whistles in a while. Also I've been kinda in love with my husband's brother." Still a really good story, great voice acting, but c'mon Ruth.
No he's pretty accurate, survival situations fear and high stress encourage bond building and carnal desires is a fairly well documented phonominon. Soldiers on battlefields engaging in homosexual relationship when they were entirely straight before gave a good indication.
It's weird to me how much people focus on the cheating part when most of the story is about surviving Oregon Trail-worthy circumstances. Being stuck in the wilderness while starving and missing essentials is horror.
This was one of the best written and best read I've heard you do. This literally kept me up because I just had to hear more. The delivery was very well done.
I liked the monsters and the story. I don't really like Ruth and Bill as characters. Ruth says she loves her husband but then cheats on him, accidently kills him, then not even a week after killing him does it with his brother again. Besides that though the idea with the whistlers and monsters in general is interesting and entertain. Oh and of course beautiful narration as always! enjoy your trip!

Your range can actually help to visualize the story. Ronnie, not trying to make light of your contribution to this story. You also did a fantastic job. What an amazing deep dive into the depth of human imagination. I Really enjoyed this one. Thank you so much!

Superbly written. Kudos to the author. Your microphone clarity and speaking style is the best of all the narrators, I believe. Vidiith is close but the stories you narrate are much...cleaner, and dig deeper. The female narrator is also excellent. Very authentic. Anyway...good stuff as always. Enjoy your trip.
I was expecting the guy in the helicopter to say "we rescued your friend, she's OK" the way the story emphasized the footprints not leading anywhere but in circles. Oh well, Whistlers got her. Moral of the story: don't fuck your husbands brother 😂🤷♂️

Are you talking about tales from the gas station? If so, it has 4-5 books in the series now, and it's great. They arr on audio books.
Thank you for doing this ! I was so excited when I heard you first announce this as one of your projects. This was the story that made me fall in love with listening to horror stories many years ago . The original audio story is gone now so it was amazing to hear it again by my favorite channel!
Round of applause, you all did an amazing job 👏
That was epic and so creepy. One of the best! And perfect for a long winter night here in New Zealand. Thanks to Rom too.
I miss winter already. Glad you're cozy and of good cheer!
Hope its cozy!! Its already sweltering where i am , id kill for some icy weather.
Yay! My two favorites! Hello Rom, always a pleasure to hear you on this channel.
Same to you dark.
Love you man! I can't wait for borrasca! With your editing skills and voice acting it will be probably the best version out there! I hope you have a good trip!
Thank you! I'm excited to get it out
@@Darksomnium we all are man! This is most certainly your calling.
My gooodddddd The Whistlers. First heard and fell in love with CTFDN. I am so incredibly excited for this. One of my favourites. Absolute classic.
today was my first day back in the army, and i live for these videoes! they are among the only things that calms me enough to get to sleep, so tonight i celebrate my first day back with a brand new listen. i’ll enjoy this one a little extra more than usual, thank you for all of these amazing vids, they have huge impacts on not only me but every one of your listeners, thanks!❤️
Thank you for your service sir! My daughter just got out after 3 years😊
Yes thank you for service and your bravery! Prayers for God’s blessing and safety over you!
This was such an emotional rollercoaster and all of you did a stellar job narrating it!
Yes it was‼️. Couldn’t tear my mind away from this story 👵🏻👩🌾❣️
You are a Master storyteller and Romnex and Dusklight have such beautiful voices, I love listening to all of you! Thanks for such a wonderful narrative! Also kudos to the other contributors! You guys always have amazing collaborations! My favorite is “I work at a bar…”
This is it. This is my favourite story and I am so glad to have one of my favourite creepy pasta people reading it for me at last!
Love love love all your work you’ve done. I’m hooked on every single stories you have here. Your channel gets me through my work day as I have it play on my AirPod. Makes the 16hours shift go by faster. Please do keep up the great work. 🎉
16 hour shift? Oh my! Then yes, you do need some distraction to make it go by faster!
Babe wake up, new 3 hour Somnium vid just dropped
Epic story and amazing narration skills ! Top notch channel !! Thankyou for all that you do ! 👍
YESSSSS. I'm so excited for this video. For those who have never read this, you're in for a treat. Enjoy your trip Ronnie!
Damn you were working on the whistlers on top of everything else?😂 that’s awesome man. Have a safe trip :)
One of the best stories you’ve done in a long time
This is my favorite creepypasta of all time thank you for remaking it!
I read them on nosleep when they were coming out back in 2015. Can already imagine how much better it will be with your sound effects
This is one of my all-time favorite stories. I'm happy someone else was able to do another rendition of it. Thank you so much for making this.
Awesome as always, keep being the light for those in the darkness my friend. The Author and narrators deserve to be proud of themselves for this!
This is by far my fav story that I’ve listened to you by you … and I’ve listened to most of them. Such a creepy wonderful well rounded story. More like this please 🙏👏🏼
I love the long stories - thanks for uploading and have a great trip!
One of your best, man! Mad props to everyone involved, thanks for this.
Woah, glad I was on the channel today!
Heya!
Beast of a project dude! Loved it, all three of you did great!
LETS GO! I love your narrations man. Been a fan a little over 6 years now! So grateful for you and your amazing quality and story telling!
Awesome story telling Ronnie! Thank you so much! I have never heard that story before and it's epic, I absolutely Love it😁😊 i appreciate all your hard work! 🤩
YES!!! Just in time. I can pop in my headphones and listen while at work.
Very excited to listen to this! I’ve been enjoying the longer stories a lot lately.
I hope you like it! and more to come!
Anything with you three (You, Rom & Dusklight) is a blessing 🤍😍 You three will always be my top 3 favorite narrators 🥹🫶🏼
Fantastic. One of the few genuinely great horror stories to come out of the so called creepypasta form. Thank you for recording it.
Such excellent narration guys! Rom, your voice is so silky smooth! DS , your voice makes me so happy. Such a great story, magnificently told! ❤😊❤😊 thankyou!
Listening to this twice brings on many revelations, one being the dog locked in the freezer was one of the things the whistlers hunted. That’s amazing.
I love this story. I first heard it from Roanoketales. Can't wait to deep dive this one with you at the helm
I listen to a lot of creepy pastas and i fall asleep to every single one. But if its from you, i try to not sleep cause i enjoy your narrating more than me wanting to enjoy my sleep! Great job everytime!
Yayy!! You are amazing!! You deserve so much in life for your talent!! ❤
I really just love all the voice actors, you’re all so talented and bring the stories to life. Favorite channel without a doubt! ❤ Enjoy your break and thanks for the long video!
Adding the additional voice actors definitely makes it more immersive!
I hope you have a great trip! Thank you for the upload, you spoil us
First time listening to this creepypasta and you guys brought it to life so well!! Rom absolutely killed Ruth, favorite female voice in your videos hands down (All the others are wonderful too truly, but Romnex really embodies the character so well)
Man I’ve listened to this 4 times already. This is one of the best stories in a while you both did excellent
Lol was just watching your last video. Great quality as always!
The production quality definitely sets it apart from some other channels!
@@nevermorehollows it really does!
@@nevermorehollows it really does!
This was the most gripping and well written stories I’ve heard in a while. The lost journal premise of the narration, the “man vs. wild” theme paired with the threat of unknown cryptid-like predators hunting them…chefs kiss. If only I could get through the whole story without falling asleep…
Enjoy your trip!! Thanks for another amazing story ❤️
Thank you!!
Never rooted for two characters to die so hard in my life.
Kinda think it's a survival mechanism tbh. A way to get your dopamine levels up and out of terror and despair.
Ladies: please don't fuck your husbands brother or The Whistlers WILL get ya! 😙
It's weird to me how much people focus on the cheating part when most of the story is about surviving Oregon Trail-worthy circumstances. Being stuck in the wilderness while starving and missing essentials is horror.
@@dylannoonan640 That doesn't happen. Maybe to the women of their enemy, but not eachother.
This was one of the best written and best read I've heard you do. This literally kept me up because I just had to hear more. The delivery was very well done.
Pulling cable 35 feet off the ground right now and got this notification. Safe to say my day just got better 😂
This was such a thoughtfully planned story. It was truly awesome and full of depth. DS, you find the most layered stories to present.😊
You can apply this to the brother Irah, too
@@gracie1312 yeah Ira just kinda ran off.
oh man i can't believe someone would behave irrationally in this situation
This story was done by a different channel and i LOVED the hell out of it but the video got taken down and ive been wanting to listen to it again for years, thankyou for uploading
Wow. What to say? First...I cannot begin to tell you how much I have missed the emotional range of Rom's voice. What a fantastic job. I cannot thank you enough. Your range can actually help to visualize the story. Ronnie, not trying to make light of your contribution to this story. You also did a fantastic job. What an amazing deep dive into the depth of human imagination. I Really enjoyed this one. Thank you so much!
Just wanted to say your voice is amazing for these stories. Other narrators just dont captured the emotions like you can. Bravo sir. The other narrators did great as well
Bruh, the real predator was the brother. Ira took all these Ls. and she smashed the brother again while his grave a few feet away
Hope your trip goes well! Story was a blast to listen to as always, you and rom never miss !
Ira deserved better. Wife left him for dead and cheated on him and still plays the victim
Yeah he was the real victim in this story 😂
Spoiler????!!!
YAY! another Dark Somnium upload! thank you so much for providing such quality videos. i always look forward to your next upload, since ive listened to pretty much every video of yours.
I love this story, Thank you so much for covering it!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I was expecting the guy in the helicopter to say "we rescued your friend, she's OK" the way the story emphasized the footprints not leading anywhere but in circles. Oh well, Whistlers got her. Moral of the story: don't fuck your husbands brother 😂🤷♂️
Both her and bill were just awful for that. It’s not like it was a one off either. They both just absolutely suck.
@@VintageNarwhal bro the other guy is dead tho who cares
@firefly9838 The first time they did it the brother was alive
