I read "I AmTHAT" IN1978 or around. This book has all the important conversations seekers from all over the world had with him. IT really blew my mind.Any one interested in spirtuality should read this book. You will be amazed!

He was making his living by owning a petty shop selling beedis and cigarettes (among few other things)!!. Unbelievable!!!. I never thought that I would come across someone equivalent to Sri Ramana Maharishi, till I accidentally came across Maharaj's book, " I Am That". It was stunning. Sri Nisargadatta would ask first time visitors about their concept of God, their view about spirituality etc only to (always) say, " all your views and conceptions are totally wrong". He was brutal ,in my view, in his approach. A stubbornly independent person, although never encouraged worshipping Gods etc., just because it was his Guru's injunction, conducted Bhajans everyday. An extrordinary saint,on par with Sri Ramakrishna and Sri Ramana,; unfortunately, not well known even in Maharashtra let alone India and the world at large.
You said it ! I came to know about him just a year back. I think more and more people are coming to know about him through youtube. Nissarga dutta maharaj was a true realized master !

I remember, one international disciple, follower of SRI Ramana Maharishi, went to meet but he recommended path of Bhakti to her( I guess he conducted Bhajan rather than intellectual discourse). One of his disciples, a Mathematics professor of Mumbai University, (Dr. Lalitha or Dr. Vijaya ...donot remember exactly) was asked "" Have you seen Miracles done by him?"". She replied: "Maharaj himself is a miracle !!". Truly, whoever's has come to know of him are very blessed. As I said, his approach was brutal( no nonsense). When one of his translators, Shri Mullarpattan(?)took him to his house and showed Pooja room, he said throw all these pictures in the sea and then see me. This statement is by a saint who conducted Bhajans. SRI Ramana Maharishi also, on very rare occasions, have spoken similarly. I came to know of him , bu God's grace, in 2004 when I had major bereavement. It shook our family. My loss was made very light when I read "I am That". Incidentally, this book was compiled by a great devotee of SRI Ramana, Maurice Frydman. Shri Maharaj has himself said Maurice is realized when asked who is a Jnani among his disciples.

This cannot be attained. It is impersonal. Our lives and existence are experiential. This is not. That is the problem. Most people conceptualise this as "something" that "happens" to someone, and that this may happen to them if some kind of effort is made. You may have heard of people who die and come back. They die physically and the brain goes quiet for a while. It is impossible to quieten the brain, even if you sit and stare into a wall for 10 years. The near death experiencers die to their bodies, thus allowing the Natural State to become obvious. It is a state of no thought. In a similar manner, some people fall out of their bodies momentarily. The brain registers this as an "experience" because that is what the brain does and can do. Nothing more. It, however, remembers this "non experiential Natural State" as an experience. Another major issue is describing this. You have also heard that it defies description, which is true. Although it cannot be described, we are helpless. We must after all, use language to try. That's the reason why in the Japanese Zen tradition, one resorts to Koans. So here I go. I shall attempt to describe that which is beyond words. It is and it is not. It is nothing other than you. You are the creator and destroyer. You were a projector from the moment You came into this Universe. You are at this very moment Projecting this. When this projector is switched off By way of your body's death, You instantly switch this Universe off. The earth, the Milky Way and the rest of this apparent Universe which is all Nothing other than you, ceases to exist. Thus, this Cosmic dream ends. You, however do not end. You are that. You are that which is impersonal. You are not good. You are not bad. You do not care. Not because you don't care. Because you cannot care. You are not intelligence. Because intelligence is cumulative. This is a static knowing. Nothing to remember or forget. You must not believe what I have Written thus far. How can you say for sure that I am Enlightened? Or not? That is not important. Belief cannot replace knowledge. Don't yearn to know the Unknowable. If you firmly believe that the Enlightened Ones were special, and that you are not, You are mistaken. Whether you know it or not. Whether you like it or not. You are already that.
If you too want to know what is the state of Maharaj. Here is a tip. You try to Understand what is this sense of "I" in you, which is why you feel yourself an individual being in the world. Is this sense "I" not base of all mental suffering. Is this sense "I" is not illusionary and created due to conditioning by which individual body-mind organism start thinking itself as individual one who is having a body and certain experiences in its living environment. Try to sense your beingness (in silence) without bring your body and its experience into picture.
I have a question : should we look past “happiness” ? I see many people wanting happiness but in my opinion it’s still fall in the category of “pain & pleasure”
All things, thoughts, emotions, sensations about which you seems to be aware constitute consciousness. This awareness about things etc. in one hand makes the awareness of the thing etc. and another hand it creates an illusionary person who is aware. When there is sense of individual, it it is called individual/personal consciousness or self which always seeks pleasure and fear about suffering. When there is only awareness without the sense of some one aware of, that is called pure consciousness, impersonal consciousness or choice less awareness. The one who is still in the trap of individual consciousness can not understand what realized or enlightened sages are expounding about final state or freedom. So all those should observe how sense of individual self is created in the very process of precepting the things etc. The very process of this investigation about the nature of sense individual self makes you free from this sense of individual self.
all these gurus and godmen is no way .. if someone says he is enlightened that does no way mean it is true .. it needs to be tested or demonstrated to be true .. if it cannot be tested then it is no way true ...
