At the U of Maryland in the early 90’s, my golf coach (Fred Funk) told us to “putt like a 5 year old.”
Meaning to think nothing of mechanics and only think of the one objective, which is to get THIS ball into THAT hole, period.
I think that’s what Mr. Crenshaw eludes to here in the very first minute, when he said “when I putted my best, I thought of nothing. I thought of just getting the ball in the hole.”

Ben is a special person. In 1984, I bought the Ben Crenshaw (8802 clone) by Walter Hagen putter. Every once in awhile, I take it out to the course and use it. It's my connection to the past and I'll never get rid of it.
