If you're going to mount one of these in your vehicle I highly advise ditching the included hardware and going to someplace like ACE Hardware and picking up some better machine screws with a nut/washer/lock washer combo to go on the back to you can really tighten down the magnet firmly to your vehicles panel. I had to do this for my silverado and it works great. It distributes the load better and the magnet won't ever come off unless the whole panel comes with it.
Thanks for your input! I personally haven’t had any issue with the screws that come with it, but we may have to look into adding those into the bag of hardware for anyone who wants to do that method!
I have a different brand of gun magnet in my car and I have to be cautious while detaching because the rate earth magnets hold the firearm so well that it ends up tugging on the panel it’s mounted to.
I totally understand that! That is somewhat of a pitfall of this product. The magnets can be "too strong" for certain situations. The adhesive tape is best for "mounting", in addition to the screws that come in the package. Be cautious if you use this product without the screws!
