Saw these fine gents as a young man when I thought I was a bit of Goth I went to Reading Festival to watch the sisters of mercy and james were supporting....changed everything for me music had a new bar set. Not yet seen them live since but always listen to James most days, such a lovely man.
My close friend died young in his sleep..we both love James…a demo tape picture on a James t shirt had 1982 on the tape...the year he was born..I walked into the restaurant for my breakfast morn of his funeral..we’re gonna miss you was randomly playing on the restaurants speakers as I walked in ! How mad is that?

Kinda glad they didn't really. I've lived in Australia for 30 years now and kinda lost touch with a lot of music. A few years ago i saw on YT that they played a farewell concert. All of a sudden I keep seeing this kind of thing. Damn I hope they come here one day soon. What a band, what a sound, what a lot of memories.

Chloe Alper ... she's been in the band for several years now...multiple tours, on keys, bass... pretty cool she's so into it she's made it to the front row and dancing with tim.. greatest addition since larry left..and she's got them feels. natural fit.

Fantastic band, doing what they do best. Saw them this year in Glasgow, doing their orchestral tour. My 13 year-old son came with us, just to see what he'd heard in the car, and he was blown away. Seen them 3 times in 20 years, and they have to be one of the best live bands in the UK.
I love James since I first heard about by 1990. There was Blur, The Farm ( imagine the farm ), Oasis, My Bloody Valentine... and they are now all f****** dead people. Even James' All The Colors Of You album is beautiful ❤

Watched their new tour twice. One in Leeds and in gods city, Manchester. Fckin awesome. Both gigs completely different playlists.Mancunia was the by far the best. Love these guys from being teenager. Clock has creeped round to 50 now. Took my boys to see them this time round
Funny you say that cos Manchester is an over rated dump, and if you wanted to see James at their best the Astoria Roundhay Road Leeds, but you’d still be at school then 😉
I think James invented euphoria. They give me more goosebumps per minute than all the other hundreds of bands I like. Great songs, great words, real multi-instrumental musicians, fantastic singing. Have followed them since the start, every album has been awesome The ladies fit in and defo add something, as do the audience Absolutely love Tim's WGAF dancing and you can tell the band love every minute
The ultimate live band, every gig is a huge spiritual experience. You walk away feeling so much better about your own life, thanks to the band and the harmony of everyone around you. What better!!
Yup, probably the best live band from the UK AND THE best band from the UK - for decades. What makes me smile is on one tour they decided they didn't need a support band. Oh no, not James! So, they went out and supported themselves!! Part of the charm (apart from the wonderful songs and musicianship) but the CHARM is that they all look like they are dancing at Glastonbury or any other festival. The girls aren't exactly the most graceful, but they ARE the most magical when dancing. Tim has his own entire thing going on and is lost to others and their brass section is sublime. Also, one last thing: If the bass and drums (plus brass and guitars and vocalists) could make their way to my local pub for a short gig (we couldn't afford the entire band) we'd buy them lots of beer and feed 'em well. Fuck it. ALL of you come to Greenwich, London. Then to my other home outside Seattle. Let me know if you need rooms to crash in. Best we can offer, I'm afraid. That and our undying, death defying love for you all Kevin x
Chloe Alper. She's been here for years now. Multiple tours. Awesome she's upfront now. Kinda replaces Larry in a way. Infectious. Feels it, the poetry, passion, instrumentation. Tim doesn't need a partner but it's so much better when he has one. We're lucky. Lightning rarely strikes twice.
