They have a long list of songs that reach your soul, deep and existential. Today we hear a lot of disposable aesthetic products. At least I can say that "James" exists and the good music, although devalued by the masses, prevails and subsists for those of us who really love music. Paul Bryson i keep returning to james and i hardly ever listen to oasis , inspiral carpets etc....that tells me james have made better music...if music survives the test of time then that means its done its job

The second was when they were at the height of their popularity and they had no need to go out of their way and play a small city like Carlisle. Both were epic concerts but quite different. One of my favourite bands ever. Many of their songs capture the memories and emotions of the times i first heard them. Such amazing lyrical and melodic talent and such an amazing live act. I love you James!

"Forgiveness divine. Revenge is more human." Fucking hell, Tim Booth is such a lyrical genius. I love this track so much. In some ways I think a strange song to play at a funeral because isn't this song about revenge and doing harm to someone who has wronged you?

I had no idea that this song was by James. I loved James back in their Born of Frustration days. Years later I always wanted to know what song was played in my favorite Trigger Happy TV skit of the giant pigeon in the square. What a different tone this song has when not accompanying scenes of a giant pigeon attacking a man on Trigger Happy TV 😂 It's brilliant either way.
I keep coming back to this one, the 2nd james video I ever saw, it hooked me as a forever fan. The poetry and music have lasted through the test of time's fads and rituals, proving talent will survive. ♪♪♪

The sheer love people have for tim is incredible. At a live gig I attended last week, he stood up on the barrier and the security tried to hold him, he got down, told them to back off and got back up and all the hands of the crowd stretched forward and held his legs and hand and kept him stable and safe. Incredible
