It was missold as a woods/trail bike when it can't do woods/trail riding.

Nice vid, and glad that you were able to get some seat time on the KDX! After riding thumpers for quite a while, I bought a KDX 220 as a project bike 2 years ago. After doing a bunch of mods to it and liking it more and more, I traded my 450 for a really clean KDX 200, so now I have two of them. They work well for CO trails, especially my 220 that has a Lectron carb. I really need to do some riding further up north where you and Hermit were. I typically ride the 717 trails, along with the trails closer to Rainbow Falls.

Nice little ride. I love my KDXs. My white 88-200, I bought new and still ride it. It's my favorite bike to ride and it's plated. 2 more green 88s and a 06 KDX 200. Ride safe my 2 wheel friends.

You mentioned you didn't think the kdx200 would make a good race bike but I beg to differ. Ever hear of a guy named Jeff Fredette? Check him out, I think you will change your thinking. These bikes could handle all skill levels and a few mods turned them into formidable weapons. Thanks for your review!

Quite talented man. But I suppose I mean in modern times someone wanting 300 two stroke power and suspension isn't getting it with a KDX.

The WRR was always a bike Hermit and I wanted to love but just could never quite get it right up here. I love the way they look, sweet looking bike. The KDX200 is an awesome bike once you get it dialed in for woods riding there really isn't a bike like it out there such a unique feel to it. I have some full on Hermit content coming!

      Biggest mistake you can make.
      It's not KWX.
It's actually a motocross racing bike tuned for endurance racing on motocross tracks.
It's not designed or tuned for trail/woods riding.
      Hills have linear slopes.
So you want linear gearing ⚙️ to match the linear slopes on hills.
You do NOT buy a long distance motocross racing bike with its NON linear gearing.
When are you idiots going to stop fooling yourself about endurance motocross racing bikes?

    • @pharettface
      @pharettface  Рік тому

@@Gma7788 Once again this was never a Motocross bike. Last I checked by the 2000s two strokes were long gone from motocross nor were they competitive against four strokes twice their size. I can find tons of Kawasaki advertising material stating this is a woods enduro. Not to mention the bike works out here, its awesome to ride. Lay off calling people idiots on my channel.

      Delicate power delivery.
They divided the power delivery in half.
You got 2 small power strokes instead of 1 big power stroke.
Then they gave you a small engine.
Kawasaki is a mid revs motor design.
If you want high revs, you'll have to go with the Suzuki brand.
Kawasaki"s don't require the revs to be high.
Infant they have Kips, which is for low rev power.
You belong in the low knowledge class.
You stop trying to talk to people cause you have no wise words to say.

This is why Kawasaki and the other manufacturers ended the motocross racing endurance style bike manufacturing.
    You're misusing these bikes.
They're not trail bikes or woods bikes.
You don't want non linear gearing for trail riding.
You don't want lazy steering performance for trail riding.
You're crazy to be using endurance motocross racing bikes for trail riding.
As soon as you get to a hill, those non linear gears will bog down the engine and you'll run out of motion.
Your 2 small power strokes and high revs don't have enough power to get you up the hill.
    It's delicate power delivery.
You don't want delicate power delivery to the ground.
You want 1 big power stroke per cycle.
You clearly have no idea what you're doing and who you're talking too.

    • @pharettface
      @pharettface  Рік тому +1

I have no idea where you got the idea the KDX200 is or was a motocross bike. Even in the 80s the KDX200 was a Enduro bike best suited to slow knarly rough terrain. It excels at this very well especially in woods riding, for a 200 it has incredible down low torque and stall resistance. Kawasaki themselves in original advertising called it a "woods weapon". For the last generation KDX200s like this one they are purpose built woods machines. I've been riding this KDX on and off for years now and ultimately is what drove me to making a larger 300 two stroke my main enduro bike. Even on big hills both the bikes power and gearing has never been an issue. We do have a lot of those in Colorado. One big power stroke per cycle (four strokes) lends to flame outs, stalling, over heating, un-predictable power delivery at times in slow single track. That's why two strokes dominate the hard enduro market not to mention the massive weight savings. The KDX200 and 220 is well loved because of how well it does as a trail and woods bike. I've never seen anyone here that owns one hate it as a trail bike. I think I have pretty good idea of what and who I am talking to.
