- An incredible performance of Vision of Love by Mariah Carey on Oprah Winfrey. The girl can saaaang. The girl can sing! Oprah in high praise. This was recorded from UK TV shown on channel 4. High quality VHS recording from my collection. I've put 1992 but I think I may have recorded it in 1993. HQ.
There will never be another Mariah Carey.

When I first heard this I was taking a nap on the sofa and the TV was on....i awoke to this heavenly voice. I remember grabbing a sharpie and writing her name on the white wall so I could remember her unusual name and buy her record. The rest is history. I've been a fan (LAMB) ever since.

But I think her best vision of love has to be like london 1996. Her F#5 there are better even than madison square garden 1995 vision of love

She debuted in 1990 but yeah, her first era and she got Oprah praising her and her debut album like she was a Superstar from the 80s. Mariah's legacy is insane and to this day she's talented as fuck.
This is my favorite performance of VOL ...it’s just something about her presence and her smiles and how happy she looks... and while she did nail it...she kind of relaxed it... it’s just..wow

This Queen really stood the test of time and have showcased a loooot of her vocal techniques and experiment her self with diff genres which all were successful! We can't deny that she is a living LEGEND, an ICON and most of all an INFLUENCE to these new breed of singers in this generation. Superb singer, amazzzing songwriter and a humor which I found really cool :)

SNL IN 1990 is better than anything 95 and on, her lighter tone took some of the aura of the song in her performances in 96.

Before Mariah and Whitney there wasn't anyone who did these amazing things with their voice. They invented this style that many have tried to emulate since but nobody has really been able to capture it they way they did. It's great to watch her in her prime being able to hit all the notes and all the runs and not later when her voice had lost that ability. This was incredible.
That's a lie. Aretha Franklin, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Donna Summer, Barbra Streisand all could do amazing vocal gymnastics with their voices.

Yes the performance was 1992. I was saying that it may have been shown on channel 4 in the UK in 1993, we didn’t get the shows same time as released in USA at that time
