The crowd at Notre Dame stadium was genuine. The football scenes were filmed at halftime of an actual game.
“Miracle” with Kurt Russel should be your next sports movie. Always tear up at the end.
Absolutely
Great movie!!!
Yesssss!
Should be on every year on the anniversary.. but it not 😢
I would suggest the original Brian's Song.
Honestly I think Rudy getting admitted to Notre Dame was the far greater accomplishment considering he had not-so-great grades in HS and had dyslexia at a time where I don't reckon most people even knew about it.
Correct. The fact he was the first in his family to go to college and it motivated most of his younger brothers and sisters to do the same. They had a huge family.
Yeah, its less of a football movie and more of a school movie.
It's scary to think what happened to kids back then without early-intervention. It's huge for him.
The guy who threw the halfback option so Rudy can get into the game was a young Vince Vaughn. And his friend and tutor in the movie, DBop was a young John Favreau. This was actually where they met, and one of the reasons why John Favreau cast Vince Vaughn in the movie "Swingers" not long after.
His rather large friend played Danny in The Replacements w/ Keanu Reeves
And that’s why they get to stand with the players on the sideline
Next sports movie should be "Miracle" starring Kurt Russell about the USA olympic hockey team and one of the greatest moments in sports history "the miracle on ice"
“REMEMBER THE TITANS “
Great football story , great emotion and:
GREAT SOUNDTRACK!!!!
the true greatness in this story is Rudy's younger brothers following him to degrees
The groundskeeper Charles S. Dutton had a similar Rudy-like story. He was convicted of murder at 18 and spent years in prison. He accidentally picked up book of plays one day and loved it. Formed prison drama group. Got released and went back to school. Ultimately pleaded for months for the Yale Drama School to let him in and ultimately graduated. He called his life story “from jail to Yale”. Amazing actor.
I kept waiting for one of them to say, "Oh, that's Samwise Gamgee, not Frodo Baggins." Surprised that never happened. Definite rewatch in order for Lord of the Rings trilogy!
Same! I was waiting for it.
I'm halfway through and had to come look in the comments to see if they ever caught on. 😂 Well back to the reaction....
Same!!! That's why I'm in the comments right now.
Same!😂
Proof that reactors shouldn't react to the extended versions of LOTR
One of if not the greatest football movie is "Brian's Song". A phenomenal movie about Gayle Sayers and Brian Piccallo . You will never forget this movie.
Very unforgettable.
Incredible movie
Watch the original with Billy Dee Williams and James Caan.
And after you're out of tears, watch "Slapshot" to come back. That one's hilarious!
Theres no shame in a young man wanting to Fulfill a Dream and a Goal. And a goal no one said he could do.
I went to Notre Dame and can tell you, football game days really are that amazing. No vibe like it anywhere else.
Did you know that all of the campus scenes were really shot on campus? The extras in the background are all actual Notre Dame students who had been told to dress in 70s clothes. It was a couple of years before my time, but I recognize some of the people when I watch it.
And BTW, thanks for the shout-out to the marching band's contribution. I played piccolo in the band and I will never forget the night we were rehearsing our formations in the parking lot and Lou Holtz, head coach at the time, came driving by in his golf cart and stopped and asked for the director's megaphone. He said he had noticed that we were always out there practicing for much longer each day than the football team, and he thanked us for always doing our part to get the team and the crowd fired up when they needed it. One of my all-time best memories.
What year did you graduate?
Another good walk-on story is Invincible with Mark Wahlberg. Also a true story.
Another one is "Greater"; also a true story.
Now you two NEED to watch *Brian's Song.* Brian's Song is a 1971 ABC Movie of the Week that recounts the life of Brian Piccolo (James Caan), a Chicago Bears football player stricken with terminal cancer, focusing on his friendship with teammate Gale Sayers (Billy Dee Williams).
When asking for reactions it would be nice to not give away spoilers.
For years, this was my favorite movie, and it still is my favorite sports movie. My favorite part of the story is that Coach Dan Devine never refused to let Rudy dress for his final game and never refused to let him play on the field, but the writer asked Rudy if he would get permission from Coach Devine to add that piece to the story in order to set-up the pivotal "Rudy chant" which became so iconic, and Coach Devine agreed.
Nice fun fact. I never knew that.
Oh wow!! That’s amazing… he basically allowed himself to look like a d!k for the sake of the movie about this young man… I have so much respect for him
@SeamstressK Speaks of his character as it made for one of the most climatic sports movie endings of all time. Love it!!🥹
Not only did he not refuse to let Rudy dress and play, it was his idea because he and Rudy were actually friends.
The Blind Side, with Sandra Bullock, Tim McCraw is my favorite sports movie. This one is good too.
The part where the whole team lays their jerseys on the coach’s desk is where I start bawling every time. Great movie.
I saw an interview that the real coach did and he said "If a player EVER put their jersey on my desk they would NEVER get it back."
HA!!! ME TOO!
@@ChadKline I believe the story is the coach or coaching staff asked the players if anybody wanted to give up their spot
The players did not lay down their jerseys; rather, the team captain and one other player requested that Rudy be allowed to play.
The part where the players lay their jerseys down never happened the part where they carried Rudy off was a joke and Rudy was offsides that's what Joe Montana said
This movie always makes me tear up. The main scenes are when he finally gets his acceptance letter, when the entire team lay down their jerseys to give Rudy a spot, and at the very end when he finally gets in the game and his family gets to see his lifelong dream come true.
One of the best sports movies is Miracle. It's about the 1980 Olympic Hockey team. We watch it every year on the anniversary of the Miracle on Ice and the ending is still nail biting no matter how many times you watch it.
All-time sports movie for me is hands down "Brian's Song". This movie gets me every time. It's also based on a true story of Gale Sayers and Brian Piccolo and their struggle to cross barriers within the NFL. Great movie
That is a tear jerker for sure. But a beautiful movie.
Be sure to pick the original not the remake. The original film stars James Caan as Brian Piccolo & Billy Dee Williams (Lando from Star Wars) as Gale Sayers. Best sports movie, bring tissues.
I forgot "Brian's Song".
Thanks.
Oh man I’d forgotten about that movie it is amazing, have to see if I can find it🙋🏻♀️
@@gertrudelaronge6864 Brian Piccolo: When you dedicate a game to someone, you are then supposed to go out and win it, idiot. You know, Pat O'Brien never said, "Let's blow one for the Gipper."
"We are Marshall" and "Miracle" two more fantastic sports movies. They are a must see!
Notre Dame repaints the helmets after each game, and they use gold flake in the paint. That’s why the helmets shine so much.
My dad used to say this is one of the few movies a man is allowed to cry at without ridicule from other men.
And I do cry every time I watch it. Once that music swells when they lift him up to carry him off the field...the waterworks start.
You guys might not be aware of this, but the real “Rudy” was briefly in the film too. During the game, he’s one of the fans cheering directly behind the father and the brother in the stands. If you should watch it again, he’s wearing the dark blue winter coat with the fur collar.
The real Rudy was a con artist and this whole movie was a lie. Nothing in this movie happened, the con man Rudy pushed this film to be made. Google it
Thank you.
I didn't know that.
Het gets his jacket yanked by his “dad” 😂
For what it's worth, I always understood his Dad's attitude a little differently. It's not so much that he doesn't believe in Rudy, but that he just doesn't believe good things happen (at least not on that scale) for people like them. He didn't believe college was for people like them, or big dreams. Hence the story he told him at the bus station when he left. His whole outlook on life is just keep your head down and don't hope for anything beyond your grasp or you'll get crushed by disappointment. And he doesn't want his son (or himself) to be crushed.
I’ve always thought the exact same! That was a great way of describing it too
I always took it that because of what Rudy's grandfather did to his family, to Rudy's dad, Rudy's father viewed dreams as being selfish. Which is why he instilled a work ethic and a respect for stability in his family. I think it was a way of keeping all of his kids safe.
@@shannonwright5719 That makes a lot of sense, too!
I'll never forget that friend Rudy had early in movie, you could see he completely believed in Rudy maybe even more so than Rudy in himself
Hi guys. The real Rudy was 5'6" and 165 lbs as a defensive end. He became a writer and motivational speaker. Also guys, the speech that Rudy used to practice and recited that first time in the locker room, was a famous speech delivered by all time great coach (and former player) Knute Rockne. Also the reference to "Gipper" and the win one for me sometime, goes back to a former Notre Dame player George Gipp. He became very ill and from his hospital bed, told his teammates that one day when they were not doing well and it looked bad for them to win just one for me. That is where the expression win one for the Gipper comes from. There is another great football based movie y;all should watch if you haven't seen it. Brian's Song. One of the best buddy movies ever, and another one based on real people. Trust me, it's one that both of you will love.
They did change lots for the movie though. His family wasn't down on his dreams, he didn't have a brother that stole his girlfriend... that particular brother didn't even exist, he served in the army or something after HS, paid for school with the G.I.. bill, the team didn't threaten to quit, he didn't get a sack in the one game he played, etc. The local morning radio station had him on and were pretty brutal with him. But fantastic movie.
@@chrisdobbs9155 Yes he did get a sack (or at least 1/2 sack). Here's the clip of that: ua-cam.com/video/-z950ovP7N4/v-deo.html
@@chrisdobbs9155 You left out the part he committed fraud and had to pay almost $400,000.
Greatest sports movie - EVER - Brian's Song. Another "based on a true story", about Brian Piccolo and Gale Sayers, came out in 1971. Sean Astin who plays Rudy was Samwise Gamgee in Lord of the Rings, Frodo's best friend.
Man I'm telling you, the best sports movie ever made was Vision Quest from the 80's. The soundtrack was fire!
Soundtrack was good but the wrestling scenes left a lot to he desired what with the errors and hogwash.
⚜️ From his earliest roles, Sean Astin has always been an amazing actor. No one else could have played Samwise to perfection the way Sean did. I'd love to see him in more roles, but I treasure the roles I get to see him in.
Well seeing as his mother is Patty Duke and his adoptive father is John Astin, it’s not hard to see where the acting chops came from.
This movie is definitely not reacted to enough! I watch a lot of reactors and you guys are the first ones in many, many years to react to this movie. Thank you for doing so! A lot of Sean Astin‘s movie characters are extremely motivated and never give up. I think that’s awesome! Gotta love that Rudy was Samwise Gamgee!!! 💙💙💙
Cinderella Man and For Love of the Game are a couple great movies that get overlooked quite often.
"Cinderella Man" has so much heart.
Yes yes please do Cinderella man it’s a true story🇨🇦🖖🏻
Love both of those.
Yes and absolutely H3L7 YES!
For Love of the Game and the Natural are my fave sports movies, strangely I do not like to watch baseball, but love baseball movies. :P
This movie was screened at a business/motivational speaking conference I attended in the ‘90’s, and after the end credits rolled, the real Rudy came out and spoke to us. Both the movie and the presentation were incredible.
That's awesome. Lucky
Wow! How fortunate for you to be a part of that! That's really great
Can you believe the jerk (#44) was Vince Vaughn and D Bob was Jon Favreau. They became good friends and were in multiple movies together. Swingers and Made for example
Me being a huge USC fan and Notre Dame being one of SC’s rivals I’m not afraid to admit this is one of my favorite movies.
On an ESPN gameday show from Notre Dame, some one in the crowd held up a sign that said “Rudy was offsides!” Died laughing even though I’m a life long Irish fan. 😂
Can we all just take a moment and appreciate the amazing Jerry Goldsmith score? That end scene wouldn't be nearly as emotional without it. I actually bought the soundtrack on vinyl a few years back, and it's on beautiful gold vinyl.
Goldsmith really nailed this one.
Great movie good choice
Jerry Goldsmith an incredible music composer legend .👍👍👍
He also did 'HOOSIERS', another top-shelf sports film, 'PATTON', 'CHINATOWN', & scores of others- his jazz-oriented score in 'CHINATOWN' is absolutely exquisite!!
@@redcaddiedaddie All great, Chinatown is another favorite, which he wrote and recorded in like 10 days.
Finally someone is reacting to this amazing movie! Even if Sean Astin wasn't one of my favorite actors, and even if football wasn't my favorite sport, and even if Notre Dame wasn't my favorite team, this would still be one of my favorite movies!
This is a beautiful story of never giving up and fighting for what you want. Such an amazing movie!
😂😂😂
"ENCINO MAN" NEXT !!!
Sean was great in 50 first dates also .
He has uniqueness.
Sean Aston with Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler in Fifty First dates is a different twist on him.
The whole thing is remarkable.
After I've seen your final comments on your daughter moving forward in her heart is great. Knowing she has parents like you two to make better in her head is incredible.
Always do you.
When I played football, my dad and I had an annual tradition where we would watch the tryout scene from Rudy the morning of my first day of training camp. He played football too and we’ve always bonded over the game. Needless to say this movie has enormous sentimental value to me. Rudy and Field of Dreams are the two films that make me cry every time. The music in this movie is perfect, just a few notes and I start getting the feels.
It's amazing how much I relate to this comment. Both movies always get me in the feels and they also has a lot of sentimental value to me. I'm a short guy that always wanted to play tackle, but everyone always told me I was too little to be a tackle. It made me work even harder so that I could prove them wrong.
The jersey scene didn't happen in real life but makes for a great movie moment. In real life the captain and one other player requested he be given a chance. The crowd didn't chant but the QB sack was real and he was the only player at Notre Dame to be carried off the field. Pete was a representation of 2 of Rudy's best friends that both died. 😢
The other inaccurate item was the names on the back of the jerseys. Notre Dame doesn't normally wear names on the jerseys.
I like the movie Miracle. Which is the story of the 1980 Olympic hockey team.
Hopefully you recognize "Rudy" as Mikey from the Goonies and as SamWise Gamgee from the Hobbit...but regardless Sean Astin is a great actor and glad you reacted to this. They had us watch this movie in class one day in highschool (graduated in 96) and we were all cheering for Rudy at the end. We still are 😉😁
Samwise Gamgee
@@possiblepilotdeviation5791 there 😉
YESSSS FINALLY SOMEONE REACTS TO THIS!!! RUDY RUDY RUDY!!! 😎💪
My favorite movie!!! My husband just passed away on Friday. My heart is broken and this was one that we watched all the time!! He had Pulmonary Fibrosis and i thought i would have him longer than we did. We were married 35 years. Together for almost 40 years. Our first date was a Huey Lewis concert. My sweet man. I miss him so much already.
So very sorry for your loss.
I am SO VERY sorry for your loss. It sounds like you had a lot of good times together....remember those times...remember he didn't leave, he just went home. Much love from British Columbia, Canada.
Thank you so much
I'm so sorry. 🙏🏼
I’m so sorry. I hope this film gave you a moment of comfort.
Hoosiers is my favorite sports movie. Especially for someone who played basketball in a tiny town high school. But this ranks up there.
The Rudy chant gets me every time, can't help but tear up at this movie.
Favourite sports movie has to be Miracle. Even as a Australian I think it's a amazing hockey movie
I like that Rudy's dreams were realistic ones but still ones that pushed him to his limits and perhaps beyond and that what people really loved about him was his heart, his perseverance and his enthusiastic passion for the team and the game.
Yeah that's a REALLY great point! Thank you
🙂
Miracle...Very patriotic and monumental.
I had the pleasure of meeting the real Rudy. He shared some of this story & discussed never giving up on your dreams. ❤
If by the last 15 minutes of this film, you haven't shed a single tear- then when Rudy finally runs out onto the field to thunderous applause- 😢 if your eyes are STILL DRY- i don't ever want to know you PERIOD 😊
When he gets carried off the field, that usually does it for me.
@@claymccoy everyone has their different moment in this movie - but everyone has at least one
I cant wait for you two to react to Secondhand Lions with Robert Duvall. Amber will fall in love with that one. My personal favorite sports movie is Diggstown with James Woods and Lou Gossett Jr.
Secondhand Lions is one of my all tme favorites.
If either of y’all haven’t seen Invincible, the movie not the show, you should react to it. Also based on a true story and very inspirational.
I used to show that to my US History classes. Great movie.
Rudy’s speech is verbatim speech of Knute Rockne
The REAL Rudy is in the stands behind Rudy's parents in the dark coat with light fur collar
As others have mentioned, Rudy was played by Sean Astin who was Sam (not Frodo) in LOTR.
Yes, that was a young Vince Vaughn as the QB. Also, a young Jon Favreau played Rudy’s best friend (D-Bob). You may know him as “Happy” from the Avengers series or from “Elf”.
Yep this was the film that they first got to hang out on set and became fast friends and when Jon's screenplay was picked up Vince was his co-star and when John got the chance to start directing Vince was there! If you wanna check their first 2 co-staring films they are Swingers(1996) & MADE(2001)!
He was a running back. They ran a half back pass to score so Rudy could get in on defense.
Samwise not Frodo :) my favorite sports movie is Hoosiers!
This movie makes me cry every time. Especially the scenes shot around my hometown of South Bend! Go Irish!
Have liberals trashed South Bend, too?
The factory he's working at is a metal foundry. Among other things, they make steel, in which several metals are melted and mixed together. Then they are cooled, rolled or molded into ingots(bars).
Check out two “great” football 🏈 movies!!
1. REMEMBER THE TITANS
2. THE BLIND SIDE
Both have a lot of feeling to them!!
Plus Sandra Bullock won the “Oscar “ for the Blind Side!!
Another emotional one is:
3. WE ARE MARSHAL
All three are wonderful movies!! I hope they pick one of them soon.
Another great one is October Sky or Cider House Rules
You Go RUDY!!My Late Brother Ricks Favorite Movie. This is for you BRO!!
This is still my favorite sports movie and I've seen tons of them. There are many I like but this one just always makes me tear up and feel good.
Couple things I'm sure others have pointed out. It's not Bilbo or Frodo Baggins. It's Samwise Gamchee that Sean Astin played in the LOTR movies. He was also a guest star in Stranger Things for a season. He was in the Goonies as well. My personal favorite Sean Astin film is Toy Soldiers.
His buddy DeBop is played by Jon Favreau. He later went on to play Happy in the Marvel Universe and is a director/producer. He directed Iron Man and is the guiding force behind the Star Wars Mandalorian show.
"Miracle" is my favorite sports movie of all-time
"Seabiscuit" is the greatest sports movie in my opinion. That little horse and his jockey had more heart than I've ever seen portrayed in a film. Great story, great narration, beautifully filmed. The story of a real winner. You must see it, by the end, you'll love that horse.
Yes, love “Seabiscuit” !
Horseracing isn’t a sport.
@@tempsitch5632 Yer momma thinks it is.
I think that one has spiderman in it?
Seabiscuit is amazing
This came before LOTR, and when I read that Sean Astin was going to play Samwise Gamgee, I knew they cast that role perfectly. Rudy and Sam both have heart and determination. When Sam carries Frodo up the side of Mount Doom (right towards the end), I instantly was hearing "RU-DY! RU-DY!" in my head.
I've always thought of this movie as a story about friendship as much as anything else. Yes, Rudy's determination got him positioned, but it was the support of his teammates that made his dream come true. I was 24 when I first saw this (in 1994, when it came out on video) and two scenes made me mist up. First, when De-Bop is leaving and Rudy hugs him (really rare for men to hug in that era) - and thanks him, showing Rudy knew he wouldn't have gotten to where he was without him. Then when the whole team came into Devine's office and said they would sit for Rudy to dress.... that every guy on the team came through for him like that really tweaks your heart.
Rudy, Field of Dreams, and Remember the Titans are my 3 favorite sports movies of all time. Also, Jerry Goldsmith created a masterpiece score to this film.
I’m a grown man. But when Rudy gets onto the field in the game at the end, I always tear up, without fail.
One of the best movies ever! The score for the movie adds to it's beauty. I live in Athens, GA, so I KNOW how serious college football is. I still get goosebumps every time I see this film. 🖤❤🏈
My 17 year old son loves Notre Dame and this movie. We gave him an autographed picture of Rudy for Christmas one year.
Miracle. The story of the 1980 US Olympic team. Nothing comes close.
EDIT: I also hold We Are Marshall up high.
totally agree MIRACLE is the best
I live three miles from the University of Notre Dame. This movie was huge when it was made. Tons of locals signed up to be extras. I worked at Notre Dame as a Radio show host for three summers. It’s a beautiful campus. Rudy still lives around here and is a local celebrity. If you guys ever make it out this way, I’d be happy to give you a tour of the campus! Also- Sean Astin played Samwise not Frodo. ❤
i m for the south side
I’m sorry! Go Blue!
You probably lived very close to my parents. Rudy was at our house and classmates with some of my siblings. Some snobs were critical of the movie, so my father wrote a wonderful editorial about it for the local paper.
@@douglasroderick2282 Absolutely!!! I’m a Michigan fan!! I live in Michigan. GO BLUE!!
6:00 you are definitely the type of parent to support and encourage your child to chase their dreams. ❤
Rudy’s Journey and performance you can almost say he claims the sins of his family who didn’t support him, and most importantly of fortune, who quit, but have the right words to tell Rudy not to quit most grown man cry at the ending no shame in that
I don't know if it counts as a sports movie per se (it's about bicycle racers) but Breaking Away from 1979 is one of my all time favorites. Also a feel-good movie about dreams, dedication and passion.
My favorite sports movie is "The Replacements." "Brian's Song" is also a great sports movie and like others have said, it's a true story. Please watch "Tap", with Gregory Hines, Sammy Davis Jr, Suzanne Douglas, Savion Glover, and a host of old time tapdancers. The music, horns and dancing in one scene will have you dancing all night!
If you don’t tear up multiple times in this movie, especially the end, you are absolutely not human
I love you guys!!!! Btw, interesting fact the man standing behind Rudy's dad is the REAL Rudy!!!
This is one of my favorites, love it. As for other sports movies definitely The Sandlot. Eight Men Out, Field of Dreams, Brians Song. Oh and Slapshot is a good one.
It’s about time someone reacted to this. One of the most inspirational movies out there.
Every person needs a friend or person like Pete. They are rare..
He had a real moment in the beginning of the movie when he said "those were the days man". Reminiscing of the good ol days when life wasn't so hard.
Don’t sleep on miracle as a sports movie. Great one to react too. True story and just epic what those college kids did
I love this movie! Thank you for finally reacting to it! FYI, the real Rudy did a cameo in the film...he was sitting behind Rudy's dad in the stadium.
BEST SPORTS MOVIE EVER!!! OR AT LEAST MY FAVORITE!! THANK YOU!! 🙏🏽🇺🇸
Favorite sports movie is “Miracle” based off of the US Olympic Hockey team. They’re part of what’s known as maybe the greatest moment in sports history.
Sincerely, thank you guys for this reaction. I knew it would hit you this way, because I know you're both coaches and parents. What I don't think you know is how lucky not only your own kids are but the kids you're coaching are to have you both. I would strongly suggest you sit your daughter down and have her watch this movie with you. I Remember the first time I saw this movie. I was alone at home I had it on VHS that I had rented from Blockbuster Video. Even though I was all by myself I still stood up and cheered for him. This video and your reactions I want you on my favorite reactors on all of UA-cam. Sincerely love you two❤
Remember the Titans was my fave sports movie! For some comedy & sports movie, try 'Heaven Can Wait' with Warren Beatty & Julie Christie.
Put 'Miracle ' on your list. Great movie for the sports fan. It's about the 1980 U.S Olympic Hockey team. In the greatest upset of the 20th century.
I saw Rudy speak at a business clinic in 1993 right after the movie was released. He was a great motivational speaker.
"Hoosiers" is a fantastic sports movie based on a true story. It's about basketball, and was nominated for 2 Academy Awards. Amber would like it too!
Agreed! Hoosiers and Brian’s Song (the 1971 version) are classics
Gene Hackman didn’t even want to be in the movie. He said he needed the money. He thought the movie was going to tank and ruin his career.
Hoosiers for Basketball.
Rudy for Football (maybe Remember the Titans but there is drama there)
Field of Dreams for Baseball
uh...Shaolin Soccer for, well, soccer?
Same Director, actually; David Ansbaugh. Another amazing sports movie about the sports in Indiana!
@@TheGavrael Bend it Like Beckham for Soccer.
Doesn't matter how many times I watch this movie, I always have happy tears streaming down my face at the end! Every single sacrifice he made was worth it for that one game and that is true of life too. We work hard, make sacrifices, strive and pray, and every once in a while we have a truly defining moment that makes it all worth it!
Same! The scene where he finally gets his acceptance letter and he reads it and starts crying always brings a tear to my eye.
I was the Rudy of my team back when I played. I was always going up against the biggest guy on the O-line because I was the only one who was willing to do it without complaining. Our starting left tackle would always tell me that he appreciated me going full speed every snap regardless of the day and making sure he was being pushed.
I cannot think of a more perfect reaction channel to watch this movie than rob squad.
This is the perfect movie for you two. One that comes pretty close that recommend is "Hoosiers".
"Miracle" is another great sports movie and true story.
Seeing you guys smile from joy brought tears to my eyes, just like the first time I watched Rudy 🥲
Sean Astin was not only Samwise in LotR, but he also played Mikey in The Goonies, another movie i know this channel has watched. More recently, Bob Newbie in season 2 of Stranger Things, where one of his lines was 'what's at the X, Pirate treasure?'
Daniel Ruettiger came to my high school my sophomore year (Spring of ‘95) and I had the privilege of meeting him. I have a VHS copy of this movie and he signed it for me, “Rudy 45.”
