The quality of most of the Japanese hand tools I've seen are absolutely wonderful. I wish more of our "American" tool brands would build good tools here instead of moving production to Taiwan or China. Do they lower the prices when they do this? Nope.

It really is a shame that we lost that special something we once had. Even in these pliers, there’s an honesty to them which comes across when handling them.

Snap on is still in america, but you pay out the ass for them. Hasnt stopped me from filling my box with them.

And american made brands seem to be shrinking in quantity every year. The infamous Malco Eaglegrip is now out of production.
They have a pretty solid construction that puts apart even the best German and Japanese locking pliers.
Maybe in the future, when the factories become almost 100% automated, they could start to produce very high quality stuff at reasonable prices again. Like it used to be some decades ago.

Awesome pliers, will have to keep those in mind, currently have all Knipex, speaking of narrow adjustable wrenches, Channel-Loc makes some I use exclusively on jam nuts holding up very well after years of use in organic solvents so I can't complain.

Thanks. My Knipex pliers wrenches and cobras were literal game changers and I can’t live without them. Knipex very hard to beat. But there is plenty of room for supplemental or other specialty pliers in my drawer.
Good to hear about the channel-loc’s. I’ll probably go with some from Tops or Fujiya or something just for fun and to try more Japanese stuff.

Awesome comparison! I own the bent nose hyper length. They’re pretty good. Have also been eyeballing the brown handled ergos

Thanks! That’s awesome that you have some! The ergos are my new favorite pliers, and I keep reaching for them.

Awesome video as always, really like the soft jaw pliers! Would be great for dealing with aluminum A/N fittings and such!

Thanks so much! I probably won’t use them very much, but when I need them I’ll have them!

The soft jaws are unscrewable. Hard jaws underneath. Dual purpose.

You ever see Keiba pliers? They have a bronze alloy in the joint supposed to last for eternity

    • @BrandoDamo
      @BrandoDamo  2 роки тому +1

I’ve seen them, but I don’t have any. They look nice, I’ll have to pick some up. Plus I think Keiba means something like “Race Horse” in Japanese!

    アイデアは良いけど精度が悪くて素材も良くない
    使いやすいから手に取りやすいけどスナップオン、クニペックス、チャンネルロックに比べると名工とは言えない

I have to use both in my daily life and work. Almost everything I personally work on is metric.
