I JUST found out you can upload videos to instagram longer than 90 seconds, so I decided to upload a recording of the ballad of Jane doe I did this afternoon, just a few hours ago!
This song is one of my favourite songs in general, and I’m in love with Ride the Cyclone as well! Although I’ve never seen the actual musical, I’ve seen clips online.
I recall, my first time hearing the ballad of Jane doe, I was completely blown away by Emily Rohm’s hauntingly beautiful vocals. I just knew I had to learn how to sing it- and here I am!
This song is definitely on the challenging side, and with practice and time (and tons of looping on Spotify, mostly because I was obsessed with Emily’s voice) I finally have a successful recording, with a backing track I found online.
This is a milestone for me and after hearing the recording myself, I was surprised as I didn’t expect it to be good. I’ve sung it more times than I can count, and in my opinion, this is the best one so far.
I tried to input my emotions into the song, but unfortunately singing expressively with emotions is still something I’m working on. Criticism and advice is appreciated!
Furthermore, I am pleased to announce that I will start doing musical songs too (as if I’m not going through a hyperfixation period right now)!
