Funny, I had a similar experience on social media yesterday. I was posting about the fact that I had bad reactions to meds and that they didn't 'work' for everyone. (plus, disagreeing with someone about the chemical imbalance crap) And the thread on my comment erupted with people freaking out that I would say anything bad about meds.. ARGH.. Like you said, there are plenty of stories out there about meds helping people, but we aren't hearing enough of the harm meds can cause. This leaves people that experience long term scary reactions to long term psych med usage feeling totally alone, ashamed and lost. That's why it's so important that you continue to speak out!!

Preach ! My daughter in law doesn’t speak to me because I am anti meds . Peoples opinions are all over the place on this topic but until they hit that tolerance wall of hell then they see the light . You are healing because in the last year those symptoms of really high heart rate and high anxiety and my vision issues have gotten at better . Time is key . Live your best life now and love it. Be safe out there .

Sadly much of the world now believes Back-asswards, that being medicated now is the norm.

Ugh, so sorry you've been experiencing this pushback. But sharing your perspective and stories along the way is helpful - as well as illuminating as to where the resistance to change exists.

first..you are showing remarkable recovery since last year. Keep doing what you are doing. Yes I experienced emotional blunting during my 13yr nightmare. It is always challenging when an emotion arises and I try to figure if it is too much of a rebound reaction. that person in the group support meeting showed their ignorance.

  • @mb589
    @mb589 3 роки тому +6

Don't let the ignorance of others undo all the amazing things you have done for yourself and others. When those people figure out meds are ruining thier life they will figure it out

I also meant to ask how you are doing? How far out are you now? Have you had any progress with your remaining symptoms? I know your vision issues have been lingering for a long time. Any changes?

Watched your video today on Tiny tours. I am currently getting off pain meds. They helped for a year or two & then they started making feel sick all over. Opioids should be illegal period.

Very succinct argument. I really don’t understand why everyone has to internalize other people’s beliefs that don’t match their own, and their own is clearly just parroted from media indoctrination,

I believe that everything that happens makes us who we are. So we can recover in the sense that we can find a new normal mental health balance. You really seem to be looking in the right direction to find a way to feel better in this shitpot we call existence. And everyone is different, I just hope we can get to that place of being okay. Whatever your personal journey takes.

Yeah.. Hot water and saunas/ whirlpool always got to me in the heart.. I believe cultures that expose themselves to it frequently like in Finland,, have an acclimation to that . I never go in hot tubs because of that same situation X- 4 ... About four times got scared.

I feel so much of what you're saying, especially the part about feeling absolutely nothing while on meds. It just robs you of your life and no one understands, it's horrifying. Your perspective is appreciated.

My dear friend your story helps so many more people then you know.. I'm going to share this with a few who understand on many levels.. the best thing I have ever given myself is friends like you who are not afraid to share their REAL experiences, no matter the judgement of others.. the friends who are true to what they feel at the time and don't have to cover emotions for the likes of others.. teaching ourselves TO cope without meds isnt easy and definitely not a choice everyone takes but for us it's the best option.. keep on keeping on and give my buddy GI Joe a big belly rub..(he's looking good)..

you're great and this is great. lots of respect for you and how you've explained your approach to this matter - it's so vital to understand what your own normal is! we shouldn't be so medicated we're numbed to the highs and lows of life and piling on more pills to mitigate the side effects of others. i'm on a couple of brain meds myself, but they're down to a sensible all-time minimum thanks to self-advocacy, a great doc, and excision of shitty people, and it's a shrug now rather than a crisis if i miss a couple doses.

Interesting video. Thanks. I hope we can outlaw psychiatric coercion and nonconsensual psychiatry. Anatomy of an Epidemic by Robert Whitaker is a book that i appreciate. Good fortune to you. Serenity

Excellent rant - with excellent points. Unfortunately, even in “woke” circles, only certain narratives are permitted and there tends to be an infantilizing rhetoric of what is deemed “safe”.
As a side note: Those super hot baths are intended to provide this weird simultaneous effect of vasodilation and mild stress. The pulse jumping up to 150 bmp isn’t uncommon or typically concerning. This is the type of heart rate that someone might have during intense exercise. These types of conditions are believed to provide a beneficial effect for the cardiovascular system, provided, of course, that a person is otherwise healthy.
Of course, a very hot bath is a matter of individual taste. Those hot baths are best to slowly eased into, until your body adjusts - and you slowly get up, to prevent feeling super dizzy. They are great when followed by a cool shower. Obviously, it’s important to feel safe and comfortable while doing something that feels uncomfortable or unusual - and trusting your body is critical.

I feel this rant in my bones; meds and the issues around them are so inflammatory to some people who should just be listening and not attacking by "autoresponse". Just remember that we still can't get a significant mass of people to believe that COVID is an actual thing, let alone that masks, airflow, and distance of 20+ feet only might keep people safe ( I won't cover the vaccine blowback here). I think the meds "controversy" is deeper than even that disassociation process.
