That child wasn’t in the wrong place, wrong time. He was exactly where he was supposed to be, doing exactly what his father asked him to do. He was entirely blameless. Using that phrase of “wrong place wrong time” makes it sound like he did something wrong. He did not. At all.
If ANYTHING it was THEM that was at the WRONG PLACE at the WRONG TIME !

Very well said! They messed up badly but want us to just ignore it? Naw this mess has to stop! Can’t just be labeling people without concrete evidence. Period! This is disgusting!!
They literally are telling the community to forget about the whole thing and let them keep doing whatever they want. Absolutely disgusting.
DOJ needs to get involved
Yeah, the police should not look into crimes. wtf. Don't they know the new trend is to let criminals do what the fuck they want...
They apologized and offered to help with any trauma.
@@marcosanaya9540 It's called the police need to learn to do their job correctly. Apologies don't cut it. This child isn't a criminal , and he shouldn't even have been placed in that dangerous situation to begin with. What if that turned out to be a power tripping cop and the kid got killed? The police department is very lucky that nothing tragic actually happened.

The child is so well spoken and seems very well behaved. Kudos to the father to bringing up such a great kid. I wish him the very best future in all his endeavors.
Amen.
His son will go places. Extremely well spoken. I agree.
How often do cops come across bad kids who are well spoken. 😡I'll bet, NEVER! They should have known they had the wrong person.

Everything about this 12-year-old boy (wearing "SHORT PANTS") is disarming,
except maybe the color of his skin.
I mean come on, what else could it be? The 12-year-old boy fitting a description (that old story) is a non-starter simply because the boy would obviously have told the police what he was doing and that he lived right there (and pointed) across the road (that's if they gave him a chance to) and the police could have walked him back to his house to make certain and no harm would have been done. But clearly, they took the heavyhanded approach, an accusatory approach, and subsequently escalated the situation. Morons!!!
I hope the family do take out a lawsuit against the police ( they need to face some accountability) because anyhow you care to look at it, the police don't have a leg to stand on. There was absolutely no justification for handling the situation so badly.
Obviously briefed by his attorney for maximum tax payer money payout.
This is SO UNACCEPTABLE!!!
I hope the family files a lawsuit. This child will never forget that, ever.
Look at that traitor in their uniform helping those pale WS cops - what a disgrace.
I hope something terrible happens to them.
Wearing the same clothes doesn't change the fact that they were looking for an adult and they handcuffed a 12-year-old taking out the trash.
The perp was wearing a white shirt .The victim was wearing a grey shirt.
Well... that's if you believe that there really was a suspect wearing the same outfit. Far more likely, they made that up to justify their actions.
I've personally been pulled over at gunpoint because I "fit the description" myself. I didn't believe it then, and I don't believe it now.

@@kadin783Exactly. The Lansing police chief said they had 20 stolen in 2 days. That's why they're out in force. And it's all kids doing it.
When I was 9 years old in 1987, two white, female cops stopped me and my brother after we left a 7-11. My brother was 13. We bought chips and two cans of soda. The officers asked were our items stolen, handcuffed us and made us sit on the curb while they “figured out” what was going on. They took our names and asked our address and said we looked like we were “up to no good”, because of course we did….We were two Black boys, who to them probably looked like hardened gangbangers in their early 20’s. Because that’s how they see us. We can’t even be children. That was my first interaction with the police. They were mean and nasty for no reason. I couldn’t understand why they were so angry towards us. A far cry from the “friendly police officer” they have come to your school to talk about the dangers of drugs and whatnot. I’m 45 and I still remember those wicked bigoted cops, who harassed me and brother as kids walking home.
Sorry to hear it. A depressing reality. This really is the worst timeline. 😐
So did you report this?
I’m sorry you had to experience that.😢
It never even crossed our minds to report it. We just figured they were the police and there’s nothing you could do about it. Plus we were kids. We didn’t even know reporting the police was a thing. I really thought maybe we did something wrong. We didn’t know anything about racism or police bias or anything. But this was Los Angeles. We learned real quick after that incident.
That reminds me this actually happened to me 4 times as white kid
Racial profiling & stereotypes judgment 😳😡. PERIOD! Hopefully the little boy will be able to function mentally and physically after this ordeal and with professional help. Prayers for the family 🙏🏽
That's why those pigs got sued, as an individual with autism, even with white skin instead of black, there's more than just racial profiling, there's also psychological profiling, that's also illegal too, and even I also had people who are not police officers psychologically profile me just because of the way I am in ways related to autism, and it's not fair, and so people with autism, even with white skin, are also just as likely as random black people to come in wrongful contact with criminal cops, and it's not fair, that's why I don't go out very often.

The fact that they didn’t call them to privately apologize tells me everything I need to know.
Cops don`t want to take any chance even at the risk of mistaking the identity. They don`t feel the need to apologize because nothing bad happened to the boy.

Anytime police officers illegally detain someone, they classify it as “a case of mistaken identity.” They can’t even tell you who they are mistaking you for, just that you look like someone who should be arrested!

There’s clearly an age gap between the kid nd the man they was looking for. How do the cops not see that 🤦🏻♂️
I thank God the father was home and was attentive. He advocated for his son and knew there was available footage of the incident..
A simple "oops we're sorry" will not remove the emotional damage done to this 12-year-old. Police have a mentality of thinking an apology fixes everything. This will affect this child for a long time. I'd like to know what the law enforcement responsible for this situation is going to do to help this child now that they have created this emotional state for him.

This is getting so out of hand. They has traumatized this child for life. They need to start firing these police and I bet if their jobs are put on the line they will be more cautious and less assuming in their investigations and accusations. I hope that this family sues the pants off the police department. Pay this child’s college tuition in full and his down payment on his first home and his first car. It won’t resolve the issue but the police officers won’t forget the incident just like this job won’t. The case that caused them to lose their jobs
Maybe black people should tell other black people not to commit a disproportionate amount of crimes. When a cop sees 4 out of 5 crimes committed by a black person, after a few years, you kind of expect it. What we NEED to do is pull ALL law enforcement from black neighborhoods and let them fend for themselves. EVERYONE knows what would happen.
