The @retevis Ailunce HD2 DMR radio is amazing!
A few weeks before this post was published, Retevis reached out to ask if I would test an update to the Retevis Ailunce HD2. I've been using the Retevis Ailunce HD1 since late 2023. Both are capable radios! The HD2 takes DMR to another level with IP67 ingress protection, Bluetooth audio, AES128 & AES256 encryption and much more.

Apparently you could expand the transmit frequencies on the HD1 outside of the ham bands by ctrl-clicking on the bottom of the CPS software and entering the password 11882. I've tried this with the new CPS software and while it does prompt you for the password it doesn't allow you to modify the transmit frequencies. Hopefully Ailunce will restore that feature in the future.
Yeah they changed it between the previous firmware and this current version. I'll reach out and find out.

It actually does work for the HD2, you just have to deselect the region first. I did this last week with mine when I found out about it.

This is awesome news. Can the HD1 expand to include the 220 (1.25m) frequencies and actually transmit a usable signal?
Bummer, I prefer a wide open radio when it comes to band selection and not segments. I wonder if there is another code that can be entered to allow wide band selection instead of segmented selection by regions.
Agreed. I'm waiting for feedback from them. It was possible on the HD1. Let's see what they say.
