Nuts & Bolts walked so Tears of the Kingdom could run.
I disliked the inclusion of the building mechanic in both games. I’m unsure why people love building in a Zelda game so much. It had nothing to do with it. The same as weapons degradation. Just why… It’s just trying to be every game now…
Walk? It couldn't even tiptoe!
Fundamental difference is that Tears of the Kingdom gameplay isn’t centered entirely around the vehicle mechanic. Yes it’s way more difficult, but you can play the entire game without using it.
there hasn't been a real zelda game since 2013
Did anyone notice that most of the games on the list are some that either damage a studio's reputation or lead to said studio's closure?
Eh? Of course a bad / disappointing game will damage the reputation of the studio developing it...
I’ll throw Agents of Mayhem in this category. The Saint Row reboot could easily have a spot on this list as well but AOM’s failure to deliver stuck Volition in the position of having to go back to the well one too many times on a franchise that had run its course.
I'm old enough to remember when Duke Nukem Forever was first announced and I remember being super excited by the screenshots in PC Gamer magazine...
Same… And the endless discussions as to when it would be coming out!
Exactly, the marketing budgets are through the roof. This is why games are "So expensive to make" that and the outrageous salaries and bonus the managers and executives, CEO's big wigs all want and none of it going to help the ground floor developers.
Swap nuts and bolts for Perfect Dark on the 360
Too Human wasn't pulled from the Xbox 360 store. It's actually available for free and has free DLC. Silicon Knights can't legally sell the game anymore.
It was pulled initially. It's just been put back for free 🤷🏻♂️
Based honestly, don't wanna pay for that shit.
The entire 360 store will be pulled in July (2024 as these comments last forever). So if anyone wants this or the DLC… Move now!
@@swordbladez it's on the modern Xbox store, it's a free Xbox 360 game alongside crackdown 1&2 and Bejeweled HD I think??
The list top 10 let down games of all time in this video: 10) Too Human, 9) Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, 8) Redfall, 7) Duke Nukem Forever, 6) Haze, 5) Dead Space 3, 4) Dino Crisis 3, 3) Fallout 76, 2) Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5, and 1) Cyperpunk 2077
PS: I also find it weird that Banjo-Kazooie 3 is worst than Conker's Bad Fur Day.
Building mechanics are such a chore; in Tears of the Kingdom I only do it when I have to - didn't touch Nuts & Bolts with a barge pole because of it's central concept as well as how negatively it was received
Nuts & Bolts was actually received very well in 2008, it were jon tron what caused a hate train much later
@@charoleawood I'll admit that he displayed a negative reaction towards it - it could be compared to Starfox Adventures in that people wanted a straightforward Starfox game but Rare decided to put Fox in a dinosaur centric game they were already developing
I’m not creative that way to build from my imagination (it doesn’t help that I can’t picture things in my head) and I dreaded tears of the kingdom when I found out about the building mechanics. I did not enjoy the game 😢
I will never get over Nuts N Bolts.
Ngl the game is actually pretty decent, if it wasn't a BK game, it wouldn't be considered bad.
@@handleunavailable
but it's even great as a BK game
Nuts & Bolts was absolutely ahead of its time, a superb game, maybe the best looking 30fps game produced on 360 and it came out in 2008!
It was garbage, mate.
Ahh, I remember Haze. We don’t need no Halo, We got Haze…..(plays Haze)
Yeah, well, okay. That game is terrible. I mean Resistance. We got Resistance.
Gears of war lol
Resistance was actually pretty ok.
Inconsistent and derivative, yes. But still ok.
I miss 2's unique coop horde mode...
No mention of no man sky is criminal, i remember all the pre launch articles saying it was going to be the greatest game ever made, and then it came out and not a single soul liked it. Thankfully they fixed their mistake and its a great game now.
Nuts n Bolts was a great game, people just wrote it off because it wasn't three-e
I enjoyed Duke Nukem Forever personally though I hadn't played the originals and I hadn't been following it's development cycle so my expectations for it weren't that high so that probably helped. Too Human also wasn't that bad and i'm pretty sure no shop actually complied with destroying unsold copies as that was pretty much unenforceable and there were probably very few unsold copies left anyways.
I hope Thief 4 is in one of these videos. What an ignominious end to a legendary series.
Thief 4 is a great game.
it's not like the original two, but it is a worthy sequel to Deadly Shadows and is also gorgeous to look at.
Duke Nukem Forever is a pretty good game.
Thanks for showing us 🔥🔥🔥
I will stand tall as the world's biggest nuts n bolds defender
I second this comment. I love that game
It’s not a bad game it just upset those of us who really wanted a more traditional Banjo Kazooie 3
That game was my childhood. It isn't like the rest, but in terms of what it brought to the table, like vehicle creation, it was incredible.
i bet people would love the game if it wasn't attached to banjo
@@justharry2190 Absolutely. A standalone could have been one of the most impressive games that year.
thankyou gamer Jesus, i was doom scrolling and as if by a miracle, triple jump to the rescue,
Dead Space 3 was awesome and really fun. John Carver was a great addition to the story...fight me.
I don't understand why we can't just get proper sequels to Banjo and Dead Space. The sequence seems to be Create shitty sequel instead of giving players more of what made the previous title great > sales tank because game is bad > "I guess people don't like this series anymore" > discontinue franchise. Same BS they did with simcity
And in DS's case, reheat the corpse after having left it rotten and defiled for 10 years.
Haa! 14:50
When this commercial came out is when I felt the most hype for Cyberpunk 2077, by the time the game actually released I was over it and thought I would maybe play it if it was good.... I still haven't tried to play after seeing how the launch went, I'm also not going to buy a new console just for the opportunity.
🤷♂️
You are missing out.
@@metalklown I've never spent more than $200 on a console, I have the patience to wait. Although if or when I get a next gen console it and Elden Ring are 2 of the first games I'll probably try out.
😄👍
Huh, I had fun with nuts and bolts lol
Silent Hill HD Collection deserves a spot on someone's list.
All Konami had to do was hand the project over to a competent dev, but they cheaped out and gave it to a shovelware producer.
End result: Tons of graphical and audio issues to the point where they needed a day one patch. A day one patch for games that were (at the time) a decade old!
They literally only had the unfinished build of silent hill 2 to work with because the files were lost. Not kidding.
Yeah metalklown is right. Konami lost the finished build of the game. I don’t think even the most competent of companies could do well with unfinished code.
I honestly enjoyed Nuts'n Bolts!
I doubt anyone was looking forward to Tony Hawks 5, also surprised Star Field isn't number 1
Nuts & Bolts, the best Xbox 360 exclusive, does not deserve to be on this list.
Dead Space 3 had great Kinect integration. Basically, if the mic detected you screaming something like “FUCK!”, it would automatically stomp whatever had just sprung out at you.
Some I can think of include:
SMTxFE. What was supposed to be a crossover between the high fantasy war drama of Fire Emblem and the grim philosophical post apocalypse of Shin Megami Tensei ended up being something neither fanbase wanted. What we got instead was an upbeat idol simulator RPG with some of the flattest and most cookie cutter plot and characters imaginable with only lipservice being paid to the franchises it was supposedly a crossover of.
Soul Hackers 2. After so many years we finally got a sequel to a beloved cult title. Just sad that what we got was basically an in name only sequel that looked nothing like the original as well as not really being an all that good game in its own right. Suffering from a shoddy plot and monotone dungeons with an uninspired combat system, it was just a really forgettable experience. The main character was the only really remarkable thing about it. Oh, and it was made by the same people that made SMTxFE so make of that what you will.
Shin Megami Tensei 3 Nocturne HD Remaster. A remaster of one of Atlus' most seminal RPG's seems like it would have been an easy slam dunk. Yet what we got was anything but. Rather, there was hardly anything "remastered" about it. While we got voice acting added, other than that it was more of an upscaled port than anything else. Most textures were still the same, framerate still capped at 30, cutscenes were still low resolution and the sound was still compressed. Just to show just how lazy it was, it lacked even basic quality of life features that is common in their games nowadays. And all that before even getting into the performance at launch with frequent crashing and hitting single digit framrates. Oh, and it had also cut out content from the original game and sold it as separate DLC. While the performance was eventually somewhat fixed with patches, it was still a massive downgrade over the original.
I got "Too Human" for free on the Xbox Marketplace, and it's still free on there.
Duke Nukem Forever was actually a fun game, in my opinion. I own the game physically, and I'm friends with the Duke Nukem VA on Facebook.
Haze could never compete with Halo, not even Halo Infinite.
Cyberpunk 2077 has a glitchy start, and I'm glad I waited until I got an Xbox Series X to buy Cyberpunk 2077 😎👍🏽.
Redfall? Dredfall, amirite?
I played Too Human on the Xbox 360 and it wasn't that bad. Although some people might find the hack and slash type combat a bit long and repetitive. A sequel was also in the works but ended up getting cancelled. Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts could have been a good game if it wasn't tied to the Banjo & Kazooie franchise.
A Dino crisis remake like they did Re2 has 10/10 potential
Destiny was the most disappointing game I ever played, considering the pedigree of Bungies Halo campaigns beforehand. A grinding slog of a game.
Imagine being that sensitive that you'd let Duke Nukem offend you.
Dino Crisis 3 I personally dug but I get the complaints, Part 3 was originally going to be set in a major city ala Resident Evil 2 but after 9/11 Konami got cold feet about the premise and radically changed it, personally I think they overreacted way too much, they could've still kept the planned underground lab and just not shown the city above.
Remakes of games mean that series are stuck in the past because you're not going to get any continuations in the series
Not gonna lie, I 1000/1000G Tony Hawk 5 a couple years back. Beyond the bugs and once you adjust its not as bad as they say but certainly the lowest point of the THPS series
Nuts & Bolts is an amazing game, it's a spin off though and should not be treated as "Banjo Threeie" any more than like, Banjo Pilot
too human
nuts and bolts
redfall
duke nukem forever
haze
dead space 3
dino crisis 3
fallout 76
tony hawk pro skater 5
cyberpunk 2077
you're welcome
I liked.Dead Space 3 the first two were too scary for me.
I don’t think being in the works for 15 years guarantees disappointment. Half-Life: Alyx was the result of 13 years of development and resulted in a mind-blowing game with a fantastic story and equally fantastic gameplay. Psychonauts 2 was in the works for 17 years, yet that one managed to improve on basically every aspect of the original. My one gripe is that the levitation is too polished, lacking the brokenness of the original’s levitation. When my only criticism is that it’s not broken enough, you know it’s seriously good.
A niche one here but Monkey Island 4 was a real letdown and not worthy of what is probably the most celebrated point and click adventure series of all time.
It's strange for me because the 4th one was actually the first one I played, so I quite enjoyed it - then I saw later how it compared to the others
Loved hearing the PS3 diss when Nintendo consoles always get slated
The halo killer turned out to be 343 lol
The only Halo killer was Halo itself.
Perfect Dark Zero, Star Fox Zero & AEW Fight Forever are 3 of my most disappointing games.
I guess.
You can say too human isn't available for humans.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Bayonetta 3 are two that top my list for most disappointing. FF7r had about 20 hours of padding, a whole lot of bad movie, and dumb changes to the story. Bayonetta 3 stripped away almost everything that was great about the series; leaving nothing but a miserable try-hard suckfest. An imposter of a game.
To be honest I was never disappointed with Banjo Kazooie: N&B! The reason why I never grew long term with the series.
Also it’s weird you have a 76 section in here when it’s literally in the middle of it’s No Man Sky style redemption arc, has more players now that it ever has in the past, and just had a giant map expansion. Did you write this video like, 3 months ago and just get around to releasing it now? Lol
How did Elder Scrolls online work when Fallout 76 didn't then?!
Different developers....
Dead Space 3 = Resident Evil 4
Nuts & Bolts isn't that bad or disappointing in my opinion.
i think it's superb
Day 2 of asking for every One Piece game to be ranked.
Dead Space 3 is fucking great
Gta 6 will be on here eventually.
Haze is edgy Yellow m&ms
Halo 5.
Gotham knights was very disappointing
Offensive and out dated humer don'ts exist its only in these people heads
🎉
DA4.
Nuts n bolts is better than tooie
I will not elaborate
👽
TLOU2 has to be no1
Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
i think nuts and bolts is a good game, just a bad sequel
For me, Fallout 4 was very disappointing. I wouldnt admit at the time, but now i can honestly say... it was a bit rubbish :/ when you compare tonthe ones before it
Banjo is just a terrible game franchise. May it never rise from its grave.
Nuts & Bolts is by far the best game in that franchise and anyone who doesn’t like it is simply wrong.
this
hot take but ok
10 More of The Most Disappointing Video Games of All Time - As told by Reverend Lovejoy
Poor Banjo and Kazooie, ahead of the curve with that game albeit rubbish, and yet Zelda Nuts and Bolts was a success
No views. Im way too early.
Is this a video about this channel? Cause a lot of the points can apply to the channel as well
What do you mean?
