I'm 30 weeks pregnant and asked my OBGYN if I could go ahead and dye my hair, she said it was totally fine since the chemicals in dye have changed over the years. So I went ahead and dyed my hair. The thing I did was wear a little mask to not inhale so much of the smell from the dye.
She's not pregnant guys, shes just answering questions we all have
Nail Polish thank you!
I never stopped taking prenatal vitamins after my pregnancies and I never experienced hair loss. Been popping a prenatal everyday for 12 years hahaha. So ladies, feel free to keep taking them!
I’m 38+ weeks and a pro colorist, and the fumes are the only things you really need to avoid as much as possible. But it can definitely affect the way a woman’s hair will accept color. Sometimes it won’t work at all and sometimes they lift twice as fast as usual. It’s pretty weird how hormones affect your hair!
I just bleached my hair from jet black to a 6R and I’m 22 weeks👶🏻💙 NOTE: my scalp burned from the bleach but I think that’s just because my skin is sensitive since becoming pregnant. Everything was totally fine and I got the ok from my OB

My OB gave me the go-ahead because she said those chemicals don't cross the placenta, but I chose to wait until I was 13 weeks and I also chose to forego bleach. Cuz it's better to be safe than sorry. Those fumes can be crazy.
Same
Awesome video idea. You should follow up with post partum hair tips. Dealing with post partum hair loss and regrowth. It's an absolute nightmare.
please
Honestly, I still bleached my hair when I was pregnant with both my kids. A baby in a uterus has their own blood stream so like you said the only thing that's bad is fumes. As long as you're not in a small room no one should be scared to colour their hair
Yes. Thank you. How about bleach then? I was putting coconut oil on my hair before I bleach my hair and my mother in law was telling me not to dye my hair. I didnt tell her that I research it on google and it said that its pretty safe to do it as long as I'm further along. I am 27 weeks. But I just didnt say anything
I'm not pregnant, but I do have liver disease. A bit ago, my very young stylist ran 3 processes on my hair in one day, putting colors and Blondor right on my scalp, even roughly pecking into my scalp with the brush. That hurt. Total Lamaze moments sitting with that on my head. She put me under the steamer to hurry things along, but that just made it worse. I was in a lot of pain. It took 15 full minutes of another stylist flushing my scalp with cold water to calm my head down. Then she put on toner and left it on 20 minutes and I turned grey. I was supposed to be getting a balayage blonde with my natural colors blended in. It wasn't a good day. I ended-up blistering badly... large raised areas for weeks, water blisters even days and a week in, and a migraine for several days. It took 2 weeks for the scabs to start coming off, and my head was sore to the touch another 2 weeks or so. Couldn't put it up in a ponytail for 5 weeks. I'm still having skin eruptions on my scalp even now, but it's finally dying down 8 weeks later. Since my hair ended-up being botched completely, I was supposed to go back a few days after that visit to give her a chance to have my bad hair "fixed." Couldn't do it. Head wasn't ready, and there was just no way I was subjecting myself to that again. A week later, I got really sick, so Doc ran a liver panel to see how my liver was faring, and it wasn't faring well. Related? No idea. But probably. Those solutions are tough stuff. I've had my hair done when I was pregnant, but I wouldn't these days... certainly not anything that comes in contact with my skin. I've been coloring my hair for years on my own, and now I'm gun-shy at all. I still have funny hair, but now with an inch of roots I'm trying to figure out what to do with. Life is an adventure.
My best friend in cosmetology school is 6 months pregnant! I’m going to share this with her 💕💇🏼♀️
Thank you for this video!!! Super helpful ❤️❤️
My OBGYN said it’s all safe just as long as you don’t drink the dye lol
But I understand it’s a stylist pov.
I'm sure, when you do decide to have babies, they will be beautiful! 😗
Thanks so much for this video! I'm just going into my second trimester, and I'm thinking of getting baby lights. I'm already blonde and since I haven't been taking care of my blonde recently, it has gotten very brassy on top. I really think I need a tone. Is toner safe during pregnancy? I'm sure it would be fine on the baby lights, but I might need it all over since I want my hair much cooler than it is right now. What is your advice?
I just delivered our first baby girl last Friday!! ❤️❤️ thanks for the tips for postpartum hair loss. Definitely hoping to not have a ton of hair fall!
aww congrats new mama!! And hope your hair continues to look amazing!
The hair loss won't start until 3-4 months. I found my hair loss was much worse after our second baby. How are you doing with the new baby?
Stefanie Medina same with me. I have very fine hair which looked so amazing & full of volume & grew so much both pregnancies but now I feel I have less hair than I used to lol
Hello, I’m 17 weeks pregnant in second trimester. I’m interested in Brazilian blowout or a keratin treatment since my hair is so short and I do not want to damage what I have. I am not sure if it is safe. Would you consider this process safe? The stylists I talked to said I can do my tips but not sure what to do. Your help is appreciated! Thanks!
Great video!! I've seen bleach/ color hardly change a persons hair when she was pregnant. It was very strange.
StarPanda7 I've seen this too. Also I permed my friends hair 6 wks after she gave birth and the weirdest strangest thing happens her new growth turned gum like and had a greenish hue, only left perm on for 11 mins but after after 3 wks it was like it never happened! Weirdest thing ever!
HI, thank you so much for the advice. I was just wondering what you thought having Olaplex 1&2 treatments done while pregnant?
What lipstick are you wearing? You look beautiful
+lisa brouwer I’m wearing blush nude by Tom Ford
Even tho I have such strong feelings on this subject, i am so glad you addressed it. I still feel differently because chemicals are such a touchy subject to me - I almost overdid it with anything I touched way back when I was pregnant because it was just so hard for me to carry a pregnancy with my heath. I still avoid chemicals where I can - just because of current health, even with skin care and makeup when I can, but I am not all the way on the other side yet, tho, lol. (Still use regular detergents, etc.. which I would get fried from even stronger advocates as well. I am rambling, sorry. I just appreciate that you are not afraid to address things that a lot of people are so afraid to have a public opinion one. Many many blessings and I pray y'all are safe and well. (I know this is old. I saw it, for some reason while looking for videos to naturally lighten hair at home. Starting to let it go grey and am terrified of the coming demarcation. Thought about going an icy lavender during the process, just for fun, to ease the transition, but I know bleach will probably make my thin, fine, health frazzled hair fall out))
How does pregnancy hormones influence hair structure? My hairdresser said, that my hair structure changed after my first pregnancy. Can that happen? Secondly, if woman is pregnant, can the hormones influence how hair color will look on hair? Don’t know if that made sense :)
I’m so glad you did this video! Depending on how my health goes, I plan to start TTC this fall. I was actually just wondering about coloring while pregnant as I high lift my roots every month. Thanks so much!
I never thought of hair stylist and how they work with hair while pregnant. I’m wondering now ... Like, do they take the first couple trimester of pregnancy off work or they still work with all these strong fumes up until it’s times for maternity leave? This video was very informational for pregnant women hair... your sooo beautiful!
dms_25 I worked up til 7 mos. But I didn't color much in my 1st trimester mainly bc the smell made me nauseous!
Hi! Di you know anything about henna? Is that safe or not during pregnancy? Thank you for this video 😊
AliStella92 Real henna is safe and has traditionally been applied to pregnant bellies for centuries in some cultures. You have to pay attention to other added chemicals though.
I’m 21 weeks right now and this helped a lot! Thank you! I love your videos and youuuuu.
This was a great video. I’m currently licensed and pregnant and get this question all the time. Always best to ask your dr. Thanks for making the video. #teamcolor. Lol
If I'm bleaching my hair while pregnant what bleach would you recommend?
What about a gloss? It's called that at my salon... Used to remove more of the yellow tint from hair. I guess that would be the same thing - avoid during first trimester?
Interesting timing! A friend of mine actually asked this question right after I went blonde 😂 now I can just refer her to this video
Yay glad to be able to help!
How can I get light ashy highlights if my hair is dark brown ? Plzzz answer
😍 Omg, Thank you so much. I'm pregnant in 2nd tri, and wanted to go from black to blond. But ill just wait after for sure..
This video was really helpful😊thank you for sharing❤️
Can you dye your hair during the Two Weeks Wait?
How to get dark brown almost black hair, reddish or brassy tints especially at the tips?
What about using hairspray while pregnant?
Haha!! I saw your story on instagram with the shoes and thought ‘no waaaayyy!’ But was still skeptical. Loved that you went straight into the disclaimer. Great video Silvia, this is one I’ve wondered and worried about x
I really want to order some T3 tools however they don't ship internationally (I live in Australia), maybe now you're working with them you can have a word to someone haha, luv your videos & you xx
Can you use purple shampoo while pregnant?
What happened to you couples 123 tag? I loved that vid! Was looking for it the other day and couldn't find it :(( love your videos and I'm portuguese as well!! xo
It’s there somewhere :) xx
Can i use selsun shampoo during pregnancy??
What are some options for people with light hair who color black? My roots are much lighter and almost look gray against my colored black hair. What about henna hair color?
Victoria Raykhlin henna dye is bad for you because it has a lot of metalic color or something like that, its worse than box dyes.
i just tood my best friend I want to dye my hair A ombre she she said if I do my baby will come.out blonde to -_____-
Antonia Medina lmfaooo
U should do your current color routine. Ur blonde has changed and i lobe it!!
I wish she would have talked about hair straightening; i.e. keratin treatments
What about color remover while pregnant ?
Can we dye our hair while on our period?
Please tell me what makeup u have on ur eyes!! 😍
Thank you girl thought I was going to have roots to my knees by 9 months

Me too 😏
Do u use a lip plummer?
My hair is so dry this pregnancy 😢
Great information. Leave it to you to provide another good video! :)
aw thanks lovely
When I was in cosmetology school (decades ago), one of those studies came out saying you could get cancer if you dyed your hair. Further details said it took drinking 50 gallons per day to get cancer, but hey, who's counting? Lol
Lmao the baby shoes 🤣
My stopped growing in a pregnancy. It used to grow so fast 😏
What makes blondi baby
Yeah that video is definitely click bait.
Don't bleach your hair while your pregnant
Congratulations!!!!🎈🍾🎉
Lol, i thought you were going to announce that you were pregnant 🤰
Awe you would look cute pregnant lol
Yes "technically its safe" but chemicals are chemicals so why chance it? Its 10 months of your life, deal with it imo and focus on growing a life. I go as natural as possible while pregnant. No makeup unless for super special occasions, no deodorant with alluminum, No hair color, no nail polish, id rather be safe than sorry for my growimg child.
"during cosmetology school we learned".....exactly. Full stop. If you are wondering what is SAFE during pregnancy then you need to talk to your doctor. Not a cosmetology school grad. If you want to know if your hair will take color well still or anything like that.......ask your hairdresser.
She said she wasnt a doctor stop being rude
Rude? Shut up Kamila. Nothing I said was rude. I heard everything she said. I also know that there are people who will treat this as biblical fact because she is popular on UA-cam. She also said we are all allowed to disagree. So maybe you need to pull back on the attack dog and stop being rude yourself. Take a seat.
Jennifermwb Okay... now you’re just being rude to Kamilla... your original comment came off as aggressive... Chill out a little
You are so pretty

Bahahhaaa I clicked soooo fast.
So yes or no pregnant? Lol
Danielle Dellaratta NO!! Is the first thing he says in the video!!
She already said she wasn't pregnant! Don't people pay attention!
Virginia Garcia I watched it 4 times and she never flat out said no she wasn't pregnant. Maybe I just don't understand her wording.
I watched the beginning again and she said "It doesnt matter what I say people will think what they want. Just like one time I was eating a banana during filming and a rumor was spread that I was pregnant". When she gets pregnant I'm sure she will definitely say that she is. The problem with you people is you assume too much and put words into people's mouth.
She's not preg. The title is super misleading.
First!!
