You're wiring diagram you switch 85 and 86 but the relay was marked correctly so the right side says 85 on the relay you're wiring diagram says 86 so my question is do I follow your 85 and 86 or use on your whiteboard because of my relay it reads just like your relay when I freeze frame. Going clockwise 87 is at 12:00 85 is at 3:00 30 is at 6:00 86 is at 9:00 87 a is in the middle
I'll have to go back and see what you mean when I'm back home. But, if you wire it like this (below) it is correct: Pin 85 - Ground Pin 86 - From Switch (12V) Pin 30 - Constant 12V Pin 87 - Output to Fogs
@89G awesome I'll go with that. Yeah I was just a little confused with when you look directly at the relay and then look at your whiteboard. Then when you switched the 85 and 86 on the whiteboard. it was throwing me off, but I'm excited to get the look I've wanted for years.
@@MattBeck-mv9py I may have been drawing it as looking at the harness instead of the relay. It's been a minute since I did this, but I need to do the same thing on my 88 now. Thanks!

@@Lxmustang805 any idea how many amps your lights are pulling? It's not likely to be your switch. There's not any ground in the switch other than the back lights.
@@89G the car didn’t have fog lights when I bought it , it doesn’t have any electrical issues , as far as lights flickering & battery draining . I recently installed new fog lights, and LED bulbs, and I notice the original fuse was burnt . So i installed 2 new ones , and it kept blowing them out .. as far as power draws none , car can sit for 2 months and will start right up with no issue.
Do you have a good used gt fog light bracket kit and a good ground effects bracket kit that you might want to sell? If so let me know! Thanks! The 89 is looking good
I just bought ground effects for Frankie. If his old stuff is appealing, those can be available. I don't have a fog light bracket, but... Travis at Classic LED'S might. I've been buying parts from him for over 25 years now.
Fog lights looks good on a fox in the dark, it just sets it off and now your 20 something year run without them is now over. I know that u are sad about that but he said let there be light, so he did 🤣😂 I wonder how many people are going to give you flak for using the harmless speaker wire , Ive used it many times but I have seen ppl spaz out over it 🤦♂️ but you have nice cars which I guess u already know putting them in car shows. You'll never know what you can find tangled up behind these dashes and the simplest thing has sent many to get scraped unfortunately. LOL... yes, let there be light! Yeah, probably should've used something other than speaker wire. I'm out of regular single conductor 12 gauge though. Turbo or supercharger, eh? Maybe Frankie. LOL
@@89G nah nothing wrong with it, its made out of copper as well and probably a cleaner copper than your average copper wire probably the only difference, use what you have, you did it as correctly as possible. 🤣 yeah I figured that I would act like u were going to do a power adder. Thank you! I appreciate the feedback!
Fog lights can really set the car off. Glad you got them working. Doesn’t matter what kind of wire you use as long as it works.
I agree, Greg! Frankie will get the same setup before long.... trying to locate some clear fogs now.
I should have wired mine like 'at. Makes sense to put in a relay. I might need to make a change to what I done.
Is yours wired straight through the switch? 15 amps is a lot to ask of that switch!
@@89G yes it is and I better change it after seeing this.
Awesome job man looks great!
Thank you so much! I really love the way it looks.

my firebird was set up simelar to that. nice look to it.
I knew some GM's were probably wired like that from the factory. What year was your Firebird?

Wonder if this could work on a Ranger too. Hmmm. I like how it looks.
My Ranger had a relay already... it was a 96.
Good tip. They look way good clear too. Nice change Shane.
Those look super super good! Very nice well done.

This is my fav vid I seen on this * Thank U *
That looks killer, buddy. Maybe go to LED on them fog lights too? That would be sweat.
That's the plan. I need to figure out the best solution. Thank you, by the way!
Was your car blowing fuses , as soon as you turn on the fog light ?
I don't believe it ever blew a fuse, it would just turn off when they got warm.
