Don't shudder and cringe - but one day they will be racing vintage electric cars - "Will Fred's Nissan Leaf with it's original 3kwh battery even make it to the far end?" Etc! 🙂
What a fascinating video Martin. We have a similar event here in Yorkshire in Bridlington beach known as 'Race the Waves'' which I've not yet attended. I can really appreciate the effort and skill you have injected into this video from the research of the event and the vehicles to the presentation and cinematography which are all criteria I place very highly. This is very much the type of video production that I aspire to. Well done!
Thanks very much Mark, really appreciate that. If the Bridlington event is anything like the Pendine one then it should be well worth a visit, even if it's a bit different from your French car heartland :)
An absolutely top notch video, Martin! Yours have always been fun, informative and well produced but this was TV broadcast quality. Such a fabulous event covered brilliantly. Thanks.
Thanks very much indeed, glad you liked it! The channel does have occasional moments of being a bit more popular, but sadly this isn't one of them for some reason. It was good fun to make though.
I get even less response on socials! This one was always going to underperform as it’s not my usual subject matter - but I had a great day and just wanted to share that. I’m very glad you enjoyed it too 😊
@@GrandThriftAuto I didn't see you post it on Twitter, so I did already 😅 Import is that you had a great time and you are happy with your work. And remember, a lot of great masters didn't get any recognition at first 😉
Thanks, that’s very kind - there is literally zero interest in me or this channel on Twitter though, which is why I’ve given up over there. I’m not at all sure about a great master, by the way! It was a fun video to make though.
Fabulous event and film. I've driven on Pendine Sands, showing off to a girlfriend decades ago. I was surprised how much energy the sand soaks up - you need a lot more power than you do on tarmac to snap knicker elastic!
Great video Martin, I didn’t know much about this place (beyond the name) but what a fabulous history and I love the ‘make do and mend’ philosophy of the modern day participants.
I have come to this a bit late but wanted to say how I enjoyed this video. It is a shame that the hot rod world does not attract many utube views in the uk.
130+mph ? On sand ? In those cars ?. You need exceptionally large.... talent . Looking forward to your in/on car footage when you have a go next year Martin 😊!
Martin this is such a brilliant video I really enjoyed it I would love to go and visit pendine and see the race myself i went to Colorado and saw some hot rod racing at Estes park it was really interesting well presented as ever and so much information well done! Daniel
Thanks very much Daniel! Estes Park looks amazing, and what a backdrop - I'd love to visit Colorado and that would be the perfect time... maybe one day.
@@GrandThriftAuto Martin it’s amazing a state with so many contrasts the plains in the east Denver and boulder then the Rocky Mountains and the famous pikes peak hill climb which is amazing to watch and then the desert into Arizona! The hot rod racing was great fun would love to see it again glad you keeping well Daniel

😂 Very true!

Aw, thanks very much Alastair, glad you enjoyed it! Had fun making this one 😊
A simply wonderful film. Where are the views?!
This is a brilliant original production, highly informative. Your channel deserves way more subscribers and views, it's top quality.

What an absolutely wonderful event! And what a super video you made here again, Martin! Very informative and entertaining, top editing. Well done 👌🏼😀
Thanks Frank, much appreciated! It was a great day and I enjoyed making the film, although sadly it’s not proving popular.
@@GrandThriftAutoI think the target audience might not be the fastest on UA-cam, maybe do some more promotion on socials 😉

Nice production, interesting thanks.
Thanks!
Bravo! Thoroughly enjoyable plus it reminded me to check when the Museum of Landspeed is open!
That was a great video, you deserve many more views. Kudos to the flag girl (If that is not un PC) along with everyone who helps run it.

Great fun that looks!! Lovely day!
It was a cracking day! I’ve wanted to go for a few years but it always clashed with something else - so glad I finally did.
Great video Martin, I didn’t know much about this place (beyond the name) but what a fabulous history and I love the ‘make do and mend’ philosophy of the modern day participants.
Thanks Simon 😊
Great video Martin, I'm glad Bobs sandwiches got a mention they are legendary😄
Thanks Jamie! Bob’s sandwiches deserve their own channel really, let’s face it

Great film and shows what a great day out Pendine VHRA really is, Well done, I go every year usually in my 240z that you filmed at the end
Thanks - and I love your 240Z!
Watched to spite the algorithm but enjoyed the story and production quality
Thanks Gary!
10:15 That French metric nonsense 😆
What a superb video. Would love to drive over for next years after seeing this.
Do it!!!
That looks fantastic, I will look into visiting next time
Recommended! Details will go up on the VHRA website at some point - link in the description 😊
Chears for the footage. I had a brilliant time :)
