I was having the exact same problem with my '06 Civic inverting the fuel gage. I bought a used upper instrument cluster at the junk yard for $30 bucks, it looked almost brand new. I followed the steps in your video and the job took an hour from start to finish and no more problems now. Thanks for this!! $30 bucks would have been probably $700-$800 at the dealer with labor and the new part.
Man, that was a really clear video with a lot of details despite your thinking it was not perfect. Pretty darn well near perfect for a self-shot removal video. Well done.
You are a gem brother.. what you did here is gonna help lots of people to DIY everything properly now and in future ... Amazing video .. keeps it up this great works.. Kindly also make a video on how to remove Rear Bumper Removal and how to install back Sensor and Camera and a display in Headunit and a video on door speaker change
Great job! I was looking to find out how to remove the drivers side lower dash area, that was the first thing you did! Next I will be checking out my radio, and you did that too. Thank you so much.
If you experience this issue also look at the fuel tank wiring. I've had experiences where the top of the tank gets loaded with dirt and stuff then corrosion sets in and the next thing you know the pump works but the sending unit to the dash goes wonky or doesnt work.
That's a wonderful video, thanks a lot. I believe the issue is resolved as u reconnected the battery back, as I had exactly the same issue and was resolved after disconnecting the battery and reconnecting. However, much appreciated with the camera work and dismantling, it's a hell of a job👍👍👍
I’m having issues with mine once I hit 20 the 2 slightly goes out on the left side😭 and after driving for a while it’s completely on and working do you know of any solutions?
Did this fix the cluster/gas gauge long term or did it go back out. I have a problem where everything goes out on a 2011 honda civic. Any information would be appreciated
The video was super helpful! Question though, that wire that connects to the upper cluster, do you think it can be easily replaced? I'm having issues with the indicator and suspect it's the wire causing it
By any chance do you know if by removing the dashboard I can access the speaker that beeps when you put it in reverse? I need to change it, it's dying. Thank you for the very informative video.
Thanks but the close up shots are hard to follow to see where you are.... You should always start away from the area and then move to close in.. anyway, it was helpful nevertheless. The screw under the radio, pain the ass to remove, it is a standard screw (not self tapping) and it's a 5/16 size.
I don't think you do not have to remove the screws mentioned at 1:30 and 1:50...at least I know you don't on the 2007 Civic. I would assume that the 2006, 2008 and 2009 would be the same but check first. (Just pull the lower panel...it's only held in by clips.) There is another video on youtube for a "2006 Civic Speedometer Removal Video" which only shows pulling the panel out without removing the screws.
@@BulliKid BTW... Thanks for posting this video and the followup video (where you actually showed how to fix this by adding solder to the pins). Following your videos, I just did this (added solder to the pins) in my 2007 Civic, and it appears to have fixed mine. :)
Awesome! I’m glad I can help! No one else had a solution but to buy a new one ;) Nah ugh not on my watch! Sub to show support! Planning a turbo build this season!
@@BulliKid yeah man change the title UA-cam keep suggesting this to me I watch this video twice in the part you done is good with the rest sucks please either make a video or change the title
Seems like the pins are loosing contac. You already know the fix from the previous video just have to spend some time to take the dash part and solder. I had no issues since I did mine ! 💪
Not too many mine is a 2007 with just about 90k. Just finished a valve lash adjustment few weeks ago during quarantine and turns out my valves were all out of spec! Some by A lot! So definitely recommend checking out that video and doing one !
This is exactly why you should not attempt something that you have no clue about. Using the correct tools is a basic fundamental, not even a multimeter in sight, nor trim removal tools. If he had done his homework, he would be checking for bad earths as a first. If you don't know what you are doing, don't touch and let someone with knowledge do it for you.
I fixed my problem.... if you wana buy all the “proper tool” and always be “proper” you will never get anything done. It’s a 8th gen Honda Civic not a brand new car...
@@BulliKid cowboys will always be cowboys. Trim removal tools are a couple of bucks, a pair of anti static gloves are a few dollars too. You couldn't even use the correct size phillips screwdriver ffs.
Major props for the one-man tutorial recording. Very useful and you made sure to tackle everything we needed to know.
Thanks for the feedback! Be sure to sub for future content 8th gen and more

Sir, you are a gentleman and a scholar! I did exactly what your video showed and got my wife's 2008 Civic dash taken apart in no time and with ease.
Sweet! Glad it worked!

Do you know if the flasher relay is located inside? Need to upgrade for led lights
Not sure
Really straight forward
On the bottom cluster is their a light bulb because mine don’t light up

Very helpful to do the job right.
Hi, where is the gps antenna on this car?
the upper cluster on my honda civic also inverts
I thought you were going to show how to remove the dash? That's just cluster removal correct?
Thank you for sharing this. 👍
Raymark Lim no problem. Glad I can help
I have a yellow/orange handbrake warning light coming up on this Honda civic, what does this mean?
Hmmmmmm. It should be a sensor. That lets you know your e brake is up. I’m not 100% sure though.
Very friendly..nice video .take care ...love from india
Thanks for the comment!
Where to get a new one from?
Ebay sells used ones. Or junkyard
Can you please make a video on how to remove the heater core?
cesiumion unfortunately my heater core is working still but I def will make one when it goes bad.
@@BulliKid ok man. Thanks
why do you need to disconnect the battery?
You should anytime u do any electrical work. Prevents any problems down the road.
Also if you mess around with anything with a air bag you dont want it to go off in your face

It fixed it since the video. No issues.
My upper cluster is turn on after i lock the car. What do you think is the solution? Pls help really need it. Thanks. Nc vid btw
That sounds like some electrical issues. How long does it stay on!
The video was super helpful! Question though, that wire that connects to the upper cluster, do you think it can be easily replaced? I'm having issues with the indicator and suspect it's the wire causing it
that may be tricky to replace if its part of a harness

Lucian Birladeanu I’m not sure. I have no speaker that beeps in my car.
Code for radio is also on the inside of the glove compartment door.
Good to know.
Are the coupe and sedan clusters Interchangeable?
I believe so yes.

Bad Weatherfreak 40-60
$428 at most places online. $300 at cheaperhondaparts.com.

Do you have the same problem?
yea same m having same problem
Try to uninstall and install. Worked for me!!

un installed and installed it the problem went away...but it was for 1 day only..now i v got tht problem again
abdulla sheikh sorry to hear that. But to cheer you up. Mine came back last week. Although it is not inverting as often as before. :(
I know what happened to your second radio screw. It fell off inside the central console and you will never be able to recover it.
Awesome content
Hey thanks! Check out the channel!
Thanks
I fixed the fuel gauge issue today
Dash removal is misleading- the kid only removes a third of the dash
👍
Thank god !
change your title to speedometer removal.. Its not dashboard removal....
Civic nation!!
Fastest FWD around the track! Type R
what about the rest of the dashboard on to the passenger side? you didnt show how to remove that.
I didn’t need to remove that side for the problem I was having. I guess the title can be misleading.
