New here, my hubby is a trucker and I got him the one for truck plug and he Loves it. He been so excited to be eating hot food, not cold sandwiches.. This box been a game changer for hubby now he gets to eat a healthy meal. He loves his rice with every meal and now he don't have to wait to come home to get it....🤣🤣🤣

Viola Mckar that is wonderful. Working on the road is tough particularly in the winter months. Having a hot cooked meal during break would warm him all the way to his soul. I think your hubby will appreciate & love you more.

So hubby been taking leftovers and smiling more when he look in his lunch bag. He told me the one he seen in the truck stop was a lot more than what I bought it for on Wish...😂😂😂

My dad used to be a trucker for a little under a decade. Definitely know some of the troubles and hardships that come with it. Glad your husband is able to eat healthy, hot meals and not instant ramen or gas station food all the time haha

If you leave the plastic lid off ( it's meant for travelling so ingredients don't spill before adding water) the top bowl and steam the rice, it works awesome. I've not had a fail yet in my Itaki Lunchbox. I cooked this exact Ramen today in my lunchbox with dumplings, cold water and left it cooking till it turned off. Perfect. :)

THANK YOU! I have noooo idea what I am doing here! The directions...lacking. I did'nt know if I was supposed to use it or not...seemed dubious. I saw one lady use it just to warm up leftovers and I questioned the usage of that! It's taking people just like you and DaBoki here to teach us, Itaki needs to hire a writer.

I bought one of these different brand tho after your last video on this. It looks amazing. I had to have one. My law school has like 2000 student and they only have 3 microwaves.....☹. Maybe for meal prep pre cook the rice for the week and just reheat in the lunch box and it will be done with the noodles

I think you should try cooking plain rice and steamed eggs in the electric lunchbox. Just stirfry some ground meat season w/ fish sauce & pepper then simply add beaten eggs. Let the water from the rice cooking to also steam the eggs. I think that would be awesome

How are you liking it? I was rather impressed! I cut up some flank and threw in veggies and rice and it made great! Very impressed by it's simplicity. I hate the lack of instructions! Even then the instructions are dubious...i have the pro and it said to put in 2 cups of water for the rice...the reservoir will NOT hold 2 cups! So that alone made me question the little cook book and times.

    • @qweenlina930
      @qweenlina930 5 років тому

Rizzo Henri I like mine...I never really bother with the instructions for products like tbh (cause I’m a rebel like that 😂🤷🏽‍♀️) but I will admit that I had to fail a couple of times before it worked for me 🤦🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️🤣

I have one of these and it's my best friend on days I needed to warm up some leftovers for lunch. I'd let the rice cook first beforehand because it takes a longer time to cook. Then, I'll start cooking the noodles. I'd get the soup going first, and add the noodles in the last few minutes. It just takes longer. Lol!

Ok, you say eating noodles for a first date? Not great.. but! I beg to differ, my boyfriend took me to a Japanese noodles shop here in downtown dallas for my birthday. I love ramen, with ALL the fixings! He on the other hand, just noodles and meat. It was both our first time going, and we had pork buns and dumplings. Everything was amazing! Even though it wasnt a first date, I'd say it was more of the experience of trying something new, but traditional in other cultures.
P.s. I've been looking to buy an electric lunch box because I get up for work at 5am, still running a lil late, so I always throw something together and see how i handle the day with my snacks and what not. I bought an off brand one and had great reviews. It'll be here Tuesday. I've already wrote down a few recipes to test out. Now I'm stuck watching all your videos lol. You make great food! Cant wait to try some! Thank you!

    • @notoriousresearcher

As a bonus note from my own experiments, if you have some broccoli or Italian-stye deli chicken, they both go really well with instant ramen. And if you want to toss an egg in, _definitely_ do it near the end when the ramen's mostly cooked, not at the start when the water's cold (I tried it that way and the egg coated the noodles and prevented _both_ of them from cooking properly).

It is alot of trial and error with the electric lunch box. But I have to say, making Bulgogi in it is my absolute favorite. I make it at work all the time and I brought homemade kimchee with me to go with it. Thanks for the video and idea to try making Ramen!

I’m happy to see your videos, I’ve seen so much changes and honestly I don’t care what you make because you seem to make them all entertaining. I may miss the old videos like maple mondays and all your maplestory videos and honestly I quit maple long time ago but every time I see your vids, even though it’s not anywhere related to maplestory, I end up opening my account for nostalgic purposes. Keep up the vids!

Nice video :D. I never thought of adding samjang or gochujjang to my ramen got to try that next time. The only particular reason I think your rice came out a bit hard is because you may have added not enough water. I usually discovered by adding more water or less rice solved the issue :3. Just a 2 cent that I hope will help with your cooking :)

Hey DaBoki! I'm a new follower and I wanted to thank you for these lunchbox videos! I just got one recently and the only thing I've done so far is the hard-boiled eggs. Could you do a video with noodles AND an egg on top? (similar to how you'd crack an egg over ramen traditionally)
Also, do you have links to the seasonings you used on Amazon? I live in a small town so I don't have access to any sort of Asian market.

I've been binge watching your videos because I'm interested in the Itiki, but THIS time, I got curious about the ingredients you use. I looked up ssamjang and found a recipe to make it that included doenjang and I think it was gochujang? Well, I got even more curious and looked to se if I could order this stuff on Amazon and there it was. So I checked Walmart's website. Will you believe Walmart's is charging 97 dollars for a pound of ssamjang?? On Amazon it's only 10 dollars!!! Crazy!! For 97 bucks it had better be some serious gourmet food!🤣🤣🤣🤣

Your soup boiled over into the bottom section. Think of the pot as a steamer. The timer sets itself according to the amount of water in the bottom of the pot. It will shut off when that water is used up, to prevent it from boiling dry.
Who eats rice and noodles together? Two starchy foods - nope. Protein, vegies and rice or noodles.

Don’t use the plastic lid on the rice. That’s blocking the steam from cooking it right. The plastic is just to transport the food to work. 😉
