  • This is a semi realistic pattern with all the features of the real stone fly nymph but easy to tie and a good pattern to get started with if you haven't tied semi realistc pattens before. Visit my site thefeatherbender.com

As previously stated by others, I find it a joy when UA-cam brings me around to videos I have not watched. Really nice looking fly and once again wonderfully tied. Thank you for this video I’m looking forward to attempting to tie this pattern.

Well Barry, at 72 y.o., I am finally addicted to something: I am (excuse the pun) hooked on watching you tie at least 2 patterns a day, sometimes three but never four, as I want to make the pleasure last! Happily I found out I can watch the same video again after sometime, and the same wonder repeats itself! I thank you so much for reminding me of the pleasure tying gave me before I had to stop, but you provide me with a wonderful substitute... Long may you tie, and fish, before the Great Fisherman calls you back to tie for him, and fish with him, in his favorite creeks and big rivers!

Thanks Barry! No matter how I search your video history, I have not found all of them and once in awhile UA-cam throws me one I haven't seen.
This is nice! You mention to "Pick the color you want," I know a lot of people ask about using different colours and that is a fair question.
We tie so we can adapt to local requirements and color is something we should all experiment with.
    Great video!

Jeezs this pattern is unreal. Think it would take me quite a few attempts to even get it close to resembling anything like this. The tricks of bending both the hook and the legs are great

Thanks Junior. Not that difficult really, just practice.

Is it a cassette tape: “Maxell II Chrome, Dolby Noisreduction, 2 x 30 minutes”, or 2 x 45 minutes, for the wingcase? 😉

That is a nice looking fly. I have a question about the flexi-body. Is it fairly rot-resistant when compared with Scud Back? I used to really like the pliability of the scud back and the wide range of available colors, but the stuff rarely seems to last more than a couple of years before becoming unuseable; sometimes it's falling apart when it's shipped.

Hi, I know know exactly who you mean, but the virtual nymph flex-body has not rotted for me yet!
