    Bro.. Nash was carried by Hall, Hogan, Shawn, and Hunter.
    I dare anyone to talk about that classic Nash match. You can't think of anything but Nash booking Nash to ruin the Goldberg run. You can't think of anything other than him cutting 40 min promos and 2 min matches.
    It's interesting to hear from a worker because as a fan, Nash was never a 10 in anything. 10 for promo?

    I think I can see why Stevie gave Kevin a 10 in wrestling (and it has a lot to do with psychology) on two related fronts:
    1) he wrestled like how in your mind's eye you feel like he should've wrestled. Compare that to Brian Cage who looks like he should be power moving everyone in existence yet he grew up a fan of Jeff Hardy and it shows. It's impressive to see, sure, but it is like Leia floating through space back to the ship. It kills the suspension of disbelief a bit as it forces you to think about it because it is outside of what you're expecting and that makes working the audience harder because now the audience is thinking instead of just accepting what is happening as it is presented as.
    2) Kind of an extension of 1, but everything looked bruising, everything was about driving the air out of a guy to finally put them away with the powerbomb (another move that in theory is about winding someone). Would it make sense for Kevin to do a crossface? Would a moonsault from the top rope work for him? Look at Bret Hart's move set: the vast majority of it was either to bring you down (russian legsweep), keep you down (elbow from the middle turnbuckle) or to soften the legs up a bit (figure four around the ring post).
    Bret Hart needs a more varied and technical move set because that's his thing: he's a 'smaller' guy, but he is going to methodically bring you down bit by bit. Nash's was always that he was going to use his size and strength to devastate you. They both wrestled their style perfectly because it further made you believe they were who they said they were.

    • @auronguy
      @auronguy 23 години тому +3

      pro wrestling isn't, and never was, about the number of moves you can do. Just like nobody gives Rey Mysterio crap for not gorilla press slamming people and don't call Shinsuke 1D for "strong style", Nash did exactly what he needed to in the ring to draw.

That's a skill not many can pull off.

    @azarahterrafrost2031 19 годин тому +2

    I haven't seen all the Nash promos, but every time I saw him in a promo against another wrestler, he got stuffed. Logan would bury him verbally. We can say Nash is a better "technical wrestler" but really it seems like favortism. From anything I have every seen from Nash it was pretty basic and didn't have a ton of story telling either. Truly, dude pretty much hung off of coat tails everywhere he went. He was always famous by association or because he was tall. Im not speaking of Paul in a sense other than a wrestler, but I guarantee if he devoted himself that guy could do any and all of this and go around many of our current talents. He has outright stuffed almost every person he has went toe to toe with verbally. Granted, that is a theoretical. Flips don't do it, right? How was his bout with Orton? Reigns? Nash was never truly that entertaining. How many of these moments were born of insane backstage politicing? Nash couldn't keep up with Rock on the mic, Punk on the mic. Larger than life, a 10? If we are talking about stature sure. But being larger than life requires more than physical height and weight. I think you're awesome, Steve, but this seems to have favortism all over it. It's cool if you don't like Logan for this that and the other, but his statement of being at this level with so little time is legit. Does he work with hbk or other great talents? Yep, sure does. But that has to be backed by their faith in his ability somewhere. I believe recently Nash made the statement that besides rehearsed matches, when the match begins in front of all those people it says something that he doesn't just fold, he takes off and does well. As a fan of over 20 years, I would snore through a Nash match, Id rather even watch Kenny, his brother. He was a part of History, he had his accolades, but it was more about Vince or Eric's favor. One thing he is good at, is being clever. Guy has a silver tongue, it made him massively successful. And no this isn't a "Oh, he's a heel, you don't like his work, see he got ya'!" This is more, I'd pull a Jim Cornette and change the channel. Kane was similar, but he kept up intrigue with personality. Want to talk about a big man that could move? Glen Jacobs put Nash to shame.

    No disrespect meant to Logan, who I think actually is far more than just a guy who does acrobatics -- he gets the psychology, he's a great heel, and has had really good ring awareness. But he's not and never will be as important to wrestling as Kevin Nash. Nash not only was a great big man during his era, but told great stories in the ring. He started the NWO, for Christ sakes, and wrestled the Undertaker at Wrestlemania, and held tag team gold with Shawn Michaels, etc. As good as Logan is he's never surpassing that.

    Logan Paul might... miiiight be good but he needs about five years of wrestling regularly to prove to be the draw Big Sexy is.
    Ronda proved the same. In her first couple of matches she looked like a star but as Ronda now says, they were carefully choreographed. When she became regular, we could see what the Emperor's New Clothes actually were. I reckon Logan Paul is at this time the same - a few carefully choreographed matches and a bit of support, a good wrestler doth not make.
    Also darn this video for making me defend Diesel in any capacity.
