@RRr-yl8zr no you can run 87 if you want. I do most of the time. I'm getting 17.5mpg. The 2.7 will probably get 22mpg+. Ford really needed to put a big tank in the RR 325 miles to a tank kind sucks The light comes on after about 280 miles. 400 miles to a take would have been nice
I'm guessing the 2.7 6 cylinder uses regular gas? For an everyday get-around truck, the XLT makes sense, but you can't beat the Ranger Raptor for go fast everywhere. If money wasn't a factor Raptor for sure.
I think better comparison is Ranger Lariat FX4 to the raptor especially if you could get one with the v6 - price is not far off and it would all come down to towing and some price and off road capabilities and the engine and maybe mpg etc
I'm amazed the RR gets so much worse MPG than my manual 5.0 V8 mustang. I get 20-21mpg in mixed driving. I know the RR is less aerodynamic but I figured lower HP v6, and 10spd auto would make it better.
RR is cool, but the standard version does very well equipped already even in XL guise. Hopefully it's not too hard to find those lower spec'd models on dealer lots.
It’s just a good comparison between what a normal pedestrian ranger looks like in comparison to the raptor. Id still take a base ranger with the 2.7 over either two
Im already planning on ordering my RR in early 2025. Just watching this to see the difference. If you bought a normal ranger and loaded it up, then put the fox system on it that the raptor has, you're spending more than the 10k premium difference between the 2. And you wont get 4A, which in my 19 Raptor was phenomenal in inclimate weather. And you don't get the 3.0TT.
I still think offering 4A Only on the Highest trim is a Miss GM offers it on the lower trims of Colorado & Canyon I'd much rather have a Ranger but I don't Need a Raptor
I can understand liking the Raptor, it's a good truck, but the Ranger Sport would be my choice. Looks good and has good options for the majority of drivers.
Any idea what the difference in the side steps height. I own the Ranger Raptor and my wife is short and complains that the step height is too high. Never complained about my 2019 F 150 FX4. Haven’t seen a Ranger Lariat or XLT on a lot yet so I can compare the step height.
I have one no side steps it’s just a small tiny climb in I’m 5’ 8” but with side steps id imagine it would be easy but one thing is the driver side has no handle to get in
After having push button start for so long I can’t do a key. I carry no keys. I would like to see the Ranger Raptor estimated annual fuel cost. Someone told me the sticker says $3200 a year since it takes premium. That is quite a bit higher per year than other mid size trucks. What is the MPG?
2.7 twin turbo XLT/Lariat is my choice (when available). I'd never use the Raptor's off road capability, and I'm not a fan of dealers marking them up $20K. Let the suckers buy them.
The front and rear axle turn at the same rpms. The hopping in part time 4x4 is a result of the outer tires having to travel farther than the inside tires. The difference is side to side not front to back.
Yes…the key that I almost never have on my person anymore because it’s not 2005. Anything that is not under $25K in 2024 should have push start. I seriously don’t get it, on one hand people bitch and moan about the current price of vehicles, and on the other they throw shade at folks who expect certain features to be standard at these crazy prices.
It does not bother me to have to use a key to start a vehicle, but I find it interesting that Bronco, which is built on the Ranger platform and at the same plant is push button start across the board. They are also still using keys on F150 on lower trim levels. Yet, F150 now offers standard digital gauge cluster and 12" main screen on all models! Ranger also all digital screens. Remote Start on the App over 4G vs proximity

Since I don't need a truck to do truck stuff in any class, I reckon I would take the Raptor for the fun aspect. But these prices are not compelling.
I may get a Ranger Raptor when the dealers are selling at MSRP or below. Local dealer wants $10k over MSRP.

Does the FX4 package include 4A or is that raptor exclusive?
Raptor exclusively. The only "mainstream" truck in the midsize segment to include this is the Colorado.
FX4 includes 4x4 with rear locker and better suspension. The Raptor gets 4A because it is all wheel drive.
