    Not to take away anything from thee Raptor, I'd go with the Sport XLT with the 2.7 V6 with the FX4 package😁

      Problem is the raptor comes with a front locker, faster motor, larger gearing, larger tires, for only like $3k more.

      @RRr-yl8zr no you can run 87 if you want. I do most of the time. I'm getting 17.5mpg. The 2.7 will probably get 22mpg+. Ford really needed to put a big tank in the RR 325 miles to a tank kind sucks The light comes on after about 280 miles. 400 miles to a take would have been nice

    I'm guessing the 2.7 6 cylinder uses regular gas? For an everyday get-around truck, the XLT makes sense, but you can't beat the Ranger Raptor for go fast everywhere. If money wasn't a factor Raptor for sure.

      The 2.7 can take regular but with diminished performance. You use premium whenever you’re towing or off roading for optimal performance

    Rager Raptor would be my choice. I like the fact that it looks beefier.

    I think better comparison is Ranger Lariat FX4 to the raptor especially if you could get one with the v6 - price is not far off and it would all come down to towing and some price and off road capabilities and the engine and maybe mpg etc

    I mean I have proximity and push button start on my 7 year old $32k new Focus RS. $47k that should be standard.

    With 2200 mile on my RR I'm averaging 17.5mpg. I'm happy with that... Thought I could easily get 12mpg if I wanted to😂

      I'm amazed the RR gets so much worse MPG than my manual 5.0 V8 mustang. I get 20-21mpg in mixed driving. I know the RR is less aerodynamic but I figured lower HP v6, and 10spd auto would make it better.

      Not great. What is the range per tank? 350? 20 gallon tank. Regular was 2.67 at Costco today and premium was 3.19 so over $60 to fill it.

    It would be helpful if you did a TEST on a couple miles of WASHBOARD road...That is what most are driving on to get to trails....

      My RR is amazing on washboard roads. You gotta go fast though. You drive slow and it's not great rides like a truck.

    RR is cool, but the standard version does very well equipped already even in XL guise. Hopefully it's not too hard to find those lower spec'd models on dealer lots.

    Not sure you can really compare the two. I'd rather see a comparison of the Raptor against the Ranger Tremor, or even a FX4.

      It’s just a good comparison between what a normal pedestrian ranger looks like in comparison to the raptor. Id still take a base ranger with the 2.7 over either two

    Im already planning on ordering my RR in early 2025. Just watching this to see the difference. If you bought a normal ranger and loaded it up, then put the fox system on it that the raptor has, you're spending more than the 10k premium difference between the 2. And you wont get 4A, which in my 19 Raptor was phenomenal in inclimate weather. And you don't get the 3.0TT.

    I still think offering 4A Only on the Highest trim is a Miss
    GM offers it on the lower trims of Colorado & Canyon
    I'd much rather have a Ranger but I don't Need a Raptor

    I can understand liking the Raptor, it's a good truck, but the Ranger Sport would be my choice. Looks good and has good options for the majority of drivers.

    Any idea what the difference in the side steps height. I own the Ranger Raptor and my wife is short and complains that the step height is too high. Never complained about my 2019 F 150 FX4. Haven’t seen a Ranger Lariat or XLT on a lot yet so I can compare the step height.

      I have one no side steps it’s just a small tiny climb in I’m 5’ 8” but with side steps id imagine it would be easy but one thing is the driver side has no handle to get in

    After having push button start for so long I can’t do a key. I carry no keys. I would like to see the Ranger Raptor estimated annual fuel cost. Someone told me the sticker says $3200 a year since it takes premium. That is quite a bit higher per year than other mid size trucks. What is the MPG?

    What is remote start vs remote start on a proximity sensor???? You press a button and it starts. Remote start! Been around for awhile now.

    Since I don't need a truck to do truck stuff in any class, I reckon I would take the Raptor for the fun aspect. But these prices are not compelling.

    2.7 twin turbo XLT/Lariat is my choice (when available). I'd never use the Raptor's off road capability, and I'm not a fan of dealers marking them up $20K. Let the suckers buy them.

      Raptor exclusively. The only "mainstream" truck in the midsize segment to include this is the Colorado.

      FX4 includes 4x4 with rear locker and better suspension. The Raptor gets 4A because it is all wheel drive.

    Ford needs to put those TWO 12 volt outlets BACK on dashboard (from previous Rangers). Ford removed both from 2024 Rangers.

    The front and rear axle turn at the same rpms. The hopping in part time 4x4 is a result of the outer tires having to travel farther than the inside tires. The difference is side to side not front to back.

      Yes…the key that I almost never have on my person anymore because it’s not 2005. Anything that is not under $25K in 2024 should have push start. I seriously don’t get it, on one hand people bitch and moan about the current price of vehicles, and on the other they throw shade at folks who expect certain features to be standard at these crazy prices.

      It does not bother me to have to use a key to start a vehicle, but I find it interesting that Bronco, which is built on the Ranger platform and at the same plant is push button start across the board. They are also still using keys on F150 on lower trim levels. Yet, F150 now offers standard digital gauge cluster and 12" main screen on all models! Ranger also all digital screens. Not sure what other makes, if any are still using keys...

That’s just too inconvenient!” Oh how the generation before us ever survived without push to start, blind spot monitoring, AC seats, radar guided cruise control etc. It’s no wonder vehicles don’t last 100k miles anymore, yet you people cry when you’re car or truck with 755 electronic features ends up in a shop before your first oil change😂

      @@MarkPharaohthere are pros and cons to both. I guarantee Ford continues using physical keys due to some demographics actually preferring them to keyless push button systems. I have one Ford with a key and one with the push button start and though more of the time I do find myself liking the push button more there are certainly times I like having the key.

    The 3.5 is too highly strung from the factory. Its not going to do well in Australian conditions in the long run.

    Ranger raptor in Northern California is 82k and the dealership went to 72k in less than a 2 minute conversation. Something is rotten in Denmark and I can smell it!!! Your prices are not even close but I guess you are paid by ford so ….

    2:00 Not sure why you're complaining about a normal key. Having a FOB you need to stuff somewhere instead of into the ignition is a downside.

    Whoa whoa whoa! $48000 for a mid trim, mid sized truck??? Its not even the FX4! Covid is long gone, what is Ford thinking? You can keep your LED taillights and heated seats!
    I'd wager a bet these trucks will soon be selling for under MSRP. I am getting ready to enter the mid-sized truck market, looking for something I can take offroad, and $48,000 is NOT going to happen, I would like to be in the low $40s WITH the FX4 package...I'll just stay in my paid off Civic until I can find that price.

    Not the Ranger! More trans issues I read about...people with ~500 miles are having issues where nothing happens when you put it in a forward gear. That, and Ford has screwed be every time I've gone to the dealer...Premium oil change...said they rotated the tires. Er, I was WATCHING. hard to rotate them when sitting on them. Just had to have the decarbon service at 29k...replacement EGR equipment. Got it back, and they did brake service as well...without my knowledge. Ask about the carbon issues and they just shrug and say it's part of the 30k service. F that. I'm done. Picking up Canyon AT4. Still think it could be the best midsize, but no support, lies, and they didn't even want to take my money for a new Lariat. I don't get it.
