I know most people are going to watch this because of Michael but Issa is bae and her career is so inspiring to me. I love the way she carries herself and how unapologetic she is ❤️
Honey uggh there are alot of people who are watching this for Issa Rae. Shes a great creative writer and show runner since her youtube Awkward Black Girl series.
creek muur How many black celebrity women really be out here saying foul things about black men in comparison to the counterpart which happens more frequently... I agree that what she said was not nice even if it was satire but 1. i cant feel sympathy when nobody is checking all these black rappers, athletes and actors that say shit about black women on the daily and 2. Her work doesnt show black men in a bad light but shows the different kinds of black men which i also cant say for some black male content creators.
@@SupergirlFaisa what about the regular black women who bash black men because of their personal experiences. Black celebrities aren't the voice for the black community what happen to malcolm x, Khalid Muhammad, (not Martin Luther King) and Muhammad Ali. I guess their words dont matter. Why do black women care what rappers or other celebrities say. People are going to talk about you regardless if you dont like it or not that if we're not insecure then it shouldn't matter.
Gabriella Duncan I remember waiting for the new episodes to come out and being so happy when she picked Jay over Fred. It's beautiful to see doors open for her and to see her do things in her own way.
Gabriella Duncan Going from complete ownership and control to being an employee isn't cause for celebration. This is why black people are incapable of feeding and clothing ourselves.
Yes, I know..yes Michael is goodlooking which really means very little to me...Chadwick seems like he is more interesting and can open up.I always get the feeling Michael is still acting even in the interview.
Issa and MBJ have been doing too many interviews/discussions for him to not make a little cameo in Insecure season 3. Even if it a few EPs like Sterling K Brown. 🙏🏽

Michael is dope. I'm an Asian American man and it's awesome to see other groups of people be able to represent their culture. Being Asian, I really want to see an Asian American actor/actress break through and play these big roles. Hearing Micheals story, really makes me thing of how we should think of how we can represent them and their culture. Envious but inspired.
since you are aware of it perhaps try to be the one to do so! youtube is a free platform and thats how issa was able to create her show. as a black person, I would love to see more Asian representation!
Some people in the comments are so ignorant. Michael you are being you which at all times is blessed and totally a brainer, cool, spectacular and absolutely more then just a pretty face and great body. You're so in touch and grounded. Thanks Michael for being just who you are
She’s a super strong and outspoken woman... she should’ve been matched with a stronger male counterpart, no disrespect to MBJ. She is so independent and needs to be challenged, so I’m surprised she wasn’t matched up with a true A list celeb. MBJ needed a introvert male and it would’ve been better. He obviously sees the intelligence of Issa and that’s the separation.
Future Vandross i agree but i dont think she needs an a list celeb to have a genuine and equal conversation. You describe her as if she nees a horse whisperer to get through to this independent spirit. She just needs someone who gives a shit and recognises the importance of her voice. Her intelligence shouldn't limit conversation or conversation partners, in actuality if he was intimidated he should of prepared questions to ask her. To me hes all about himself and yes that can be from a place of insecurity but even with that you can prepare yourself to be present and just generally be curious and selfless. I think hes a good guy, i do, maybe he was just nervous but seriously its mostly him just talking at her.
As a young black male!! I Can’t believe people took my bro Michael words and made it seem like he was being disrespectful towards black people, when saying ‘I don’t want roles that are design for black people’
I can believe it because they heard the statement on the surface and it's more intense than they realize and he explains in the follow up what he means but ppl only took part of what he said as usually done...smh
Usually love these Actors on Actors, but this felt more like an interview of Michael B. Jordan as opposed to a conversation between two accomplished actors and stellar individuals. Hope they bring back Issa Rae to discuss her rising star and her future projects with someone who can set a more conversational tone.
Issa Rae is on point about learning too much about a Star can affect the way you view their work. If you ever get to know a celebrity even a little bit you see them in a different light and most likely will regret it.
The tone of the conversation was too formal for people who know each other and it kept the conversation from going deeper in the way it could have. Also for somebody like MBJ who has over a decade of experience in television, it could have been talked about more, he has done network primetime television, daytime scripted television, premium cable. Few people go through those avenues anymore because of streaming so it could have led to an interesting discussion.
Mariah Moore just cause they know each other at parties and publicity events doesn't mean they "know each other" he's not the type to hang out with dark chicks and he doesn't have to

These interviews do help, because as an aspiring actress as well, I love learning about these actors, and I have learned so much about both Issa and Michael through this interview.
@Jojo Banks Umm not really. He looks nice and I don’t think he is completely daft but he if not super intelligent. He low key narcissistic and colorist.
I had to watch this. I was shaking my head when he said Ben Affleck and Matt Damon called about the Inclusive Act. Especially when Matt Damon popped off and said basically that it doesn't need to be diverse behind the scenes. Bill Cosby, not the personal life, but the professional one influenced having more diversity on the set. I didn't know that "stand ins" weren't the same race a lot of times back when... (Stand in might be a model or actor that stands in for the people to get the camera shot looking right. Never noticed, but Michael Jackson Making of Captain Eo showed a stand in. It was great...). It's so important to have behind the scenes people especially writing. Okay I'm 10 minutes in.... Great clip

Akimus S I’m not sure why anyone would have thought otherwise. I mean the only two things they have in common is their ethnicity and job. And ethnicity is a loose one seeing how she is African and he is American and while both are black at the core they see being black through a different lens. But everything that shapes how you view the world your gender, where you grow up, who you grew up around, your complexion (for people of color ), your nationality/ ethnicity and how they effect each other and other life experiences are all different.
Jordan G. Not according to her , I mean I can only go by what she says and it’s a strong influence on who she is and how she sees the world. It shaped how she interacted with black Americans when she first started to go to school where majority of the people were black.
i am sure that is not what Akimus actually meant . These 2 shouldn't have done the interview together because there is little to no chemistry between. MBJ is best suited to white jocks actors . she is way too developed for him
The comment that Michael B Jordon made about only auditioning for white male roles read worse out of context. I get he wanted a wider breadth of characters and decided to be color blind to get access to that variety, but honestly it could lead to a Chronicle or it could lead to the shit show that was The Fantastic Four. Because Josh Trank didn't know how to write a Black character, he fundamentally did not understand how to write a Black family. Also the questioning about responsibility to fans was weak. A more interesting question would be how/ when do you know to relinquish responsibility to your team behind the scenes because you have the extra role of lead actor on a show.

Or maybe he was kinda intimidated by her and didn’t know how to act cuz Issa is a very confident, independent and self assured woman and that can be intimidating for some black guys. Even the air around her is self assured even by the way she sits. I noticed that at the start Jordan didn’t really keep eye contact for long while Issa did at all times. Yes. It’s an interesting dynamic. Maybe it’s a personality thing or maybe she has more interest in him (his work) than he does hers.

I was thinking the same thing. The other actors on actors that I’ve watched has had a back and forth. He barely asked Issa anything
Issa Rae is a great interviewer. She asks the right questions 🙏🏾

My two FAVES!!!
You know what I´m saying, You know - Michael every 3 seconds
haha , I'm surprised media training hasn't rid him of that bad speaking habit

Love love Issa. I’ve been watching all her stuff even before Insecure.
His sense of style. Impeccable
nice conversation .... whatever happened to inside the actors studio? that was also good
I loved the book, and the movie was a great representation
