    Thanks for doing this! It was awesome to see the unedited process since a lot of videos just seem to assume we know where everything is.

    Thanks for posting this and for providing the torque settings… torque values not always easy to find as manufacturers typically like to rip off their customers by charging for that information.

    Hi Tony, Great video, will be attempting mine this afternoon!! Wish i had an air gun wrench lols. Be great if you could do a video on how you put the car on axle stands!! As i know this is a shady area for many :)

      I usually just use a piece of wood on my jack and jack it right on the rocker panel behind the litle block thing then put your jack stand on the block thing, it's the only way I could figure out how to do the same thing haha

    Great video. Quick question: I’m getting a bit of vibration at idle. I’m thinking it may be the original lower engine mount (the upper mount seems to be ok). I wonder if these yellow bushings will reduce vibration at idle (or maybe make it worse)?

    • @tonythowtovideos6691
      @tonythowtovideos6691  21 день тому

      The yellow bush will stop the vibrations and also give a smoother gear change.
      You will experience some vibration for the first few hundred miles as the new bush settles in.
      Don’t put the black inserts in. It will vibrate terribly.

      @@tonythowtovideos6691Thanks for the quick reply! My Mini F55 is an automatic so I probably won’t notice a difference with gear changes but hoping to resolve vibrations at idle and when at stop lights, etc. Thanks again.

    hi, do you have the part number for the lower engine mount bolts? I've looked everywhere and it's nearly impossible to find them. I have a set of the top motor mount bolts but I have yet to order the lower mount bolts. Thank you!

    Is it recommended a new lower mount or just take of the one you have and replace the bushing for the powerflex?

    • @tonythowtovideos6691
      @tonythowtovideos6691  19 днів тому

      If your bush has worn out just replace with the power flex bush.
      It’s a bit difficult to get out, I found drilling several holes in the bush made it easier to cut out and remove.

      @@tonythowtovideos6691 I will try, bought a used one with about 60K miles, just replaced top engine mount one was totally wreck. But still not easy to shift over 5K RPM and metali noise when crank the engine. I just bought on ebay the transmission/otherside engine mount, but not sure if i'll need too that lower mount replacement or just a bush would be cool.

    hi mate i have the same mount that fits on my bmw 2 series grand tourer, what i would like to know when this mount needs replacing do you hear like when u turn or hit a bump u hear a knocking noise?

    • @tonythowtovideos6691
      @tonythowtovideos6691  7 місяців тому

      You will feel a vibration under acceleration.
      Also if you open the bonnet and try to rock the engine if you feel movement the mount needs replacing. They don’t last very long I’m afraid.
      If you’re getting a clunking sound when going over bumps you may find your top mount needs replacing.

    • @tonythowtovideos6691
      @tonythowtovideos6691  Рік тому

      I cut the old bush out. It was starting to perish anyway. They have a very short life I’m afraid.
      You can’t just buy the bush from Mini. It’s a complete unit.
      I bought a 2nd hand engine mount and used that instead of cutting up a new one.

    No need to support engine with a jack?

    • @tonythowtovideos6691
      @tonythowtovideos6691  Рік тому +1

      Hi, no. There is no need to support the engine with a jack. The lower mount acts more of a stabiliser for front to back movement. By changing to the power flex bush you may see the upper mounts wear quicker or may already need replacing.

      @@tonythowtovideos6691 My 22’ F56 only has about 7k miles right now. Was looking at this mod to hopefully cut down on wheel hop. Are you saying that you believe changing over to the Powerflex lower bushings will accelerate wear on the upper engine mount? Thanks for your time.

    • @charlesle
      @charlesle 8 місяців тому +1

      Wheel hop is eliminated by using the Powerflex inserts for the upper engine mount.
