With paint, pencil and pixels, Kay conjures the wizarding world as we have never seen it before. so very sick of people moaning in the comments about not enough illustrations/ blah blah blah, i thought it was beautiful/ so much hard work went into it and instead of being so ungrateful about there being not quite enough wouldn't it be better to praise the wonderful illustrations he has made/ if you really feel that strongly make your own illustrations for how you see the characters/ places
I hope they put out a box set of the first three illustrated editions. I love how Jim Kay doesn't think of the movies when illustrating, but rather his own interpretation while reading the book.
I personally imagine the Dementor’s face like that ‘Scream’ painting’s face.
love how much detail has been put into these illustrations. there couldn't be a better artist! ⚡️👌🏻
I got the three book set for Christmas & cried I'm in love with your work absolutely beautiful!!!!!!!!!
Doing the same for this Christmas!! I cannot wait for them to arrive I'm so excited🎄❤️
the illustrations are beautiful though I was hoping to see the firebolt and honeydukes sweetshop, still this is a great copy
Can’t wait for books 5-7!!😍
I can't believe that your illustrations were amazing! and realistic! and I can never stop watching and reading Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban!
when people like u with so much information, involvement, creativity, fun and great talent.....the final result is just MASTERPIECE
I love the details in the Snape art, fantastic little nods.
Thank you SO MUCH for these amazing editions, Bloomsbury! I've bought the first two deluxe editions and they're absolutely incredible. Jim's illustrations are perfection!
And there were not one picture of Hermoine with the time turner clock. That was a very vital part.
Gasp
You're kinda right 😳
Yes
Yes that was disappointing.
@Marianne I think he's also a great artis but there is always room for improvement, this is just a constructive criticism which is quiet helpful😊
Aww! This is so awesome! He obviously puts a lot of thought into his work. Love it ❤️
Stunning Cover! Amazing details! *hats off*
I love these videos so much 💜 can’t wait for the Goblet of Fire!
I can't help but notice his version of snape being quite handsome....when he smiles I suppose. Though in the first book there was a darker version of him.
I think that's a cool thing to do. Since in the first one Harry was a kid (11) he'd viewing Snape in a more terryfing light than he really is. So as Harry grows and they know each other ...I mean, that's my way of reading this changes😊
Unicorns with Cedric Diggory in the Fourth book. I insist to see the goblet, World Cup, Fleur, Yule Ball and the Mermaid Lake.
Tiana Pi Tesr And Hermione and Viktor Krum at the Yule Ball and all of the dragons from the first task
Tiana Pi Tesr & cho chang dobby Madame maxime the golden egg opened underwater the dark mark voldemort nagini & the death eaters
And the tri wizards cup
Amazing work 😍
I just got the first 3 books collection and I'm so excited to start! Going to be listening to Harry Potter atmospheric music during it
I actually put my own background music instead of listening to the harry potter theme music from the films. Makes it more unique for the books.
The level of detail in each illustration captures every element in my imagination, then triples it.
The images of Snape are perfection!
I strongly feel, however, Trelawney does not wear a turban and she must have long, flowing hair to match her long, flowy shawls & bangles - her blunt bob murders me.
His work is amazing.
i love jim kays illustrated.
so cool hope to buy it ^_^
After seeing a bunch of comments that are disappointed about the lack of illustration in the third illustrated books, all I can say is: Please Bloomsbury, don't rush the next book! Let Jim take his time working on the illustration. You don't have to force yourself to publish one book each year. There are a lot of version of HP books already, but I belive this is the first one with pages that full of colorful illustration, so I want this to be the best HP illustration there could be. I know how hard it is to work on an illustration, so I want Jim to come up with the best illustration he could for this books! So take your time, Jim. Hope you could finish all the 7 books with a good quality illustration on each pages~♡
p.s: Oh if the books end up too thick, maybe you could split the edition to part 1 and 2, just like the movies, cause be honest, we all already know the story by heart, and all we want is the colorfull illustration that could satisfy our imagination about the story.
they r gorgeous jim kay 🧡
My first thought was, hello, brother of sherlock!
Please make translated versions ❤️
I love his work😏
I love the Jim Kay editions ❤ I can't wait to get Prisoner of Azkaban 😊
Best book cover is night bus🚌
Who else can’t wait for GOBLET OF FIRE OMG, my favourite book 😆😆😆😆😆😆😆😆 I can’t wait to see his interpretation of the merpeople in the Great Lake and the different wizarding schools ugh I want it now xx
Ethan The Ravenclaw i want these books were without duct jacket. The picture which is drawn on dust jacket were on binding.
Any idea when GOF is coming out? It's my fave book too
What about the number 4 5 6 and seven?
The thing with the mole, lily, and slug are ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT, but I'm disappointed with Snape's face. JRK states he is not a hero, and here he looks too nice. He should've been frowning or something. His face looks too calm and amiable.
❤❤❤
4 more months!!!!
Where can I get the 4th illustration edition book
October 8th 2019
When is the 5th book releasing
Sometime in 2021 I believe
I’ve tried buying the Bloomsbury version from the site and it won’t let me. It says we are unable to complete your purchase due to territorial sales restrictions for Harry Potter
Why aren’t there as many illustrations in this years book than previous ones?
Antonio Perez I think it’s because this book is longer so they had to cut back on the illustrations, but if that’s the case then I don’t know what they are going to do for rest of the series (especially Order of the Phoenix lol).
My guess is that they'll split it up in two volumes, released either in a bundle in october, or one part in october and one part in the holiday period or something. Or make the pages waaay thinner.
DackxJaniels Yeah, that makes sense.
Can't believe we have to wait 2019?!
why whinge about it/ make your own version tbh, sick of people underestimating how much effort goes into these beautiful illustrations
Sir when did Harry Potter and globlet of fire release
Please tell me
Please reply me if anyone knows that
Please.,..........
Illustrated version comes out October 8th 2019
@@lovemaster341 thanks brother
2:04 It is nowhere stated in the Harry Potter books that Snape was once a member of the Slug Club during his time at Hogwarts. I don't consider him to be the type for it. Would he even want to be in it / spend time on something like that? Highly questionable if you ask me.
Are you kidding? he is the half blood prince, his expertise in potions must be noticed by Slughorn in the sea of mediocre potion makers, most probably he is better than Lily (she is more like Hermione).
No, I'm not kidding. I'm only saying it is nowhere stated officially whether he was once part of the Slug Club. It's absolutely no attempt to deny Snape's natural (extraordinary) talent for potionmaking, that's beyond question. My point is I do not see him wanting to be in it / spend time on a club (even if Slughorn asked him and given the prestige it would give), i.e. he would definitely be 'qualified' for membership but would he want to join? I doubt that (that's what I meant with 'I don't consider him to be the type for it').
Yeah, I know it is not in the books, but Jim discusses many things with Rowling about his illustrations so she may have said that Snape is a member of Slug Club. Also he was invited to Slughorn's party in HBP book. but It's true that he thinks party and recognition by slug is beneath him, but may be he might have participated in the club for some gain other than recognition and praise from Slughorn.
That's indeed totally possible. But to present it as very important to him (as a character) (i.e. 'Snape was a proud member of the Slug Club') is a little bit too much, if you ask me. I don't think it was such a great deal to him; if one wants to portrait the character, a slug should not be the first thing that comes to mind. Love the mole and the lily though, perfect visualizations of the character.
According to the wiki he was.
Hi jim could you read your mail? I’m the girl from argentina, thank you
I'm sooo disappointed in the lack of Illustrations.
so is every single movie in a illustrated book form?
really disappointing. first two Illustrations from this video ain't even in the book. that's what it's all about, right? the illustrations? because we already got the story since forever in other versions. goblet of fire has so much to offer. please consider doing it right.
I hope they put out a box set of the first three illustrated editions. I love how Jim Kay doesn't think of the movies when illustrating, but rather his own interpretation while reading the book.
