There is a time and place for everything! I wear my solid 22k and 24k on a daily basis.
When I travel, I wear my sterling silver gold plated jewellery because I don't want to
worry about Customs when I am coming back or having my solid gold stolen! My real stuff
goes into my safe deposit box.
This works perfect for my jewellery worry free vacation!

@@jaybrewer3040 Thank you for your interest. My 24k pieces are heavy gold chains, pendants and rings. They don't get any banging around as the chains are over 50grams each and very strong. I just don't worry about them or the pendants and I wear them all the time. I don't wear the rings every day but they are fairly strong also. I don't notice any scratching at all.

Do you focus on Cuban link chains because it's easier to make compared to a rope or franco chain? Do you make rope chains?
How much extra gold do you start with when you make a cuban chain? If you're shooting for a final weight of 250g, do you start with 350g?

Answer to your why not flash plating jewerly: In my mind, it makes it less pure(that may not make sense to you), and secondly, because some of us see those imperfections as character. I don't know if my chain is plated(I think it's turkish made) and given to me by my father for a graduation gift- It's been on my neck for the last 20 years without it ever been barely taken off(papi mode lol). Thirdly, some likely fear that the plating will come off- is this true or even possible?

I highly recommend NOT to buy the gold over silver chains - ordered one last week and it had multiple dents in the links, spots of un-plated Silver, and scratches all over it. Not worth the markup imo

this isnt a question on instagram for your q&a but just a general one. why the hell is there such a thing as gold filled jewellery and why is it not actually gold filled? holy shit man. the marketing for it is crazy while the name is just misleading.
99% of people have no idea that their jewelry is flash plated. 😂 10kt, 14kt, 18kt. Even some 22kt indian jewelry is flash plated in 24kt plating.
That must be why my cuban from Harlem bling kinks so much. It is super flat. Over filed. That sucks. Guess I just buy my next one from gus
The handmade Cubans from HB are overrated, supposedly 3rd generation master Cuban silversmiths. My Cuban from them came with the worst soldering I ever seen, actual lumps of silver, some not fully melted, and some lumps have jagged edges, for what HB is charging, it ain’t worth it for amateur rushed craftsmanship
