Key words here, WHO CARES. Wear what makes you feel good, enjoy the beauty of the piece, and celebrate who made it. Been rocking jewelry for 30 years and I've never had someone come up and be like, "how many karats you holdin?" 😂😂😂😂
If that aint the truth!!!
My first chain was 10k and i still have it. I love it.
This video was TOP TIER with that intro!!!
Bro when you said the 10k Messiah it took me out 💀 😂😂😂😂. Absolutely love these videos brother keep up the great work
I have no issues with 10k. It's not my thing, but it all comes down to preference and what you can afford. Growing up, all jewelry in my family was 14k or 18k and that's just what im used to buying. Again, nothing wrong with 10k, but for me, it's not my cup of tea. Great Video and a good topic for debating.
Understood .. whats crazy in my country 10k and 14k is the most popular if someone gets 18k gold they will dilute it to make it 10 karat ... karat is really preference and what your used to
No matter the karat you always pay for the gold content so a 10 karat chain can be worth more than a 18k chain because its heavier meaning it has more grams of gold in it
That introooo 🔥🔥🔥😂😂😂
Im a jeweler I agree with you 💯💯💯
People sound very ignorant
It's a preference you buy base on your budget
I agree 100% if all I could afford was 10k wouldn’t have a problem or care what anyone else thought
Good editing! 🫡👏
Perfect editing 😂😂😂
ok,,I.can tell you my experience .. basically I'm italian ,born and gown up here, and since I was young, i was receiving chains and pins for good fortune, especially in south Italy is a strong tradition ,, as soon as you got baptised you goodfather and godmother usually gift you with gold presents,, and the tradition is that the material has to be gold , plain , no diamonds or other stones , maybe some good pieces made by Mediterranean Coral , from vivid pink to red ,, but an important thing is that the gold has to be at least 18K , not less , NEVER ,, maybe you can get also 22K , but never less than 18K , because this presents are seeing as good omens, and growing up when you start to wear them ,you have to do it with pride ,, so i'm not saying nothing against the 14K or less ,, but im just reporting how our tradition are structured since I can remember , also from old stories that I heard ,, but we are used to this way , that's it ,, also I can say that Italy has one of the biggest gold reserve in the world , and this is what basically is kept as a Internationally State Insurance of stability in front of the rest of the world ... that's it .. 😎💯🔥
im now curious to see what 10kt gold mixed with only fine silver would look like if thats even possible or even the other way around with .925 silver
Yooo the title cracks me up. I love 10K
I bought my first 10k gold and it’s nice. I didn’t exactly know anything about gold chains or even the style I got (which was a curve cubin 4mm 14gs) the only problem is that it was irritating my skin and I stop wearing it and bought a 5mm Cuban link 56gs 14k gold chain and my skin wasn’t getting irritated with that chain. So that’s the only reason why I wouldn’t wear 10k.
Gus, loving your videos! awesome $hit
Gus whats the differnce between your silver chains vs jaxxon
What an intro 🔥🔥
Amazing video
I have 10k, 14k, and 18k chains. Visually they are indistinguishable from each other. The only difference is if i tried to resell the 14k or 18k they would net more only because it's got more gold. But as jewelry.... visually, color wise, textures, shine, feel, sound, etc.... they are 100% indistinguishable. I actually prefer the 10k as my daily because i don't worry about it as much. And my 10k is 20 years old and hasn't tarnished any more than the 18k. They all get dull after a while but after a soap cleaning they're back exactly the same
Review Hawaii rope chains !!!!!
So many people out here with 18k chains driving hoopties living in efficiencies. Buy a house, and wear what you can afford.
Nah son wear what you want. Who give af what others do as long as they ain’t jacking ur shit son
Facts
Stop pocket watching .
@@sirspeedsalot thats what you took from my comment? 😂
I listened to the entire video and appreciate the information. I just can’t help but wonder what karat your daily chain is 😅
He said in an older video his daily is a 10k.
Gus what alloys do you use when making 10k yellow gold
Do you take used chains for a upgrade?
Tell ‘em Gus!
Really nice video, but I still don't f**k with 10k 😂😂😂
Your editor should be paid top dollar
I don’t hate 10k just would rather have 14-18k for more purity. But if I could only afford 10k I would wear it no problem
Gus is funny man 🤣🤣 i rock my 10k cuban link proudly 😎
That Chicken shot had me getting hungry
I have always worn 14k. Ideally, I would like 18k, but it's pricey anything above 18k. I don't like it because I'm not a fan of that color of yellow, but in the end, wear what you like other people's opinions don't matter it's your money.
Gus I got a 10k 13mm Cuban from you , why does it leave black stuff on my shirt? I have to clean the chain daily to minimize the black stains. What’s the solution to stop this from happening
How long ago did you get it? I wonder if this only for 10k or if you got a defective chain
It’s a shame you didn’t do your research. You overpaid
Maybe it's from the filing
@@mk4883I bought it last year it looks beautiful but I have to clean it daily or black stains get on my shirts .
@@AccentBwoyexplain your thought , I’ve had the chain for over a year I clean it daily . I highly doubt it the filing. I know they put that flash dip on there I was wondering is it that coming off of the chain
I think that like religion and politics, choice of karats a person wants in their jewelry is up to them. People have the freedom and right to make their own choice. So what?
What’s the lowest gold mix that still looks like gold, doesn’t corrode like silver and can still be made into a chain
9 carat I believe
5:32 shoutout your error lol
Nahh the intro entertaining than a MF 😂😂
Love you gus but one thing ive noticed is anything 10k get super black and dirty looking between the links real quick, ive been wearing a 22k peice 24/7 for over a year and havnt noticed this with 22k at all so tarnish or not thats a huge difference and one of the reasons i sold all my 10k and 14k years ago, plus of course i love the color difference, ☝️🤟✌️
10k is the best investment...PERIOD
@@TBBWDontPlayNoReindeerGames the man , the myth !! 5k is like hold my beer !!
Why
@@Many_Rivera buy a 10k piece and take the difference you would have spent on the 14k version and invest. You get to shine and make more money with the savings. Simple economics
@@sgbabyflexfacts!!!
@sgbabyflex ok lol you know nothing of economics... most 10k is selling as jewlery is between $30-$45 per gram and 22k is selling between $65-$75 so you do the math on the percentages and cost difference in the two... second example: if I order a hand made peice in 10k and also 22k the labor is going to cost the same. Think you need to re-take your economics class you think you passed lol
10k haters and silver haters are the same haters.
Safe more money and buy 18k minimum. 😊
I’m not going to wear anything above 14k because I work for a living however I do collect 999.9 silver and gold.
I’ll take any gold!
Id consider it real gold when it starts to inherit golds characteristics, which is mainly that it's one of the least chemically reactive metals in the galaxy lol. I inherited a ring tgatbi suspect is 18k and idk, it doesnt scratch the same as my silver rings. Silver gets gashes where gold gets little micro sputs. A spit shine is all thats needed really, whereas steel anf silver need the old cape cod polish. Not gonna test the ring cause its sentimental and every test is destructive. Dont want a single micron damaged on this if it dont need to be. They got those xrf ray scanners now though...anyway
Nothing like 22k
10k gold is just silver and copper with a bit of gold in it
👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Gold is gold! Everyone doesn't hate 10k. Only ignorant people think this!
10k irritates my skin. So I went up to 14k and it doesn’t now
Thats not true many of low carat pieces of Old origin i have had in my hand, its almost every second piece tarnish, suppose to much copper..
even 14k “Can over time change colour because of the alloys” you have to go to 18k and up, it Will Never corrode or tarnish in thousand years, i live in Denmark where we have found viking jewellery in shallow water armbands of maybe 80% Gold or more.. and they say theres a lot more out on the Fields in the Old days the vikings “blotede til guderne” they offer the Gods Odin etc Gold for better life or for a succesfull raid to bring more Gold Home.. im thinking of buying a metaldetektor and going to Old settlements and gravetombs and around that area especially on the Beach and around settlements you could find a armbangle on 300gram or more finegold ..
You buy jewelry for the value of the gold, not the craftsmanship, when you need to sell nobody wants to pay $3000 per ounce for iron.
9k is the best
10kt is gold..break it down you still have gold. Me personally im a 14kt person. Wedding band and braclets, rings 10kt always.
i prefer 18 because it's more weight on my neck and with lower karats the plating always wears off and it's a lighter color compared to my 18k pieces. and they're ALL older than me so there's no more dip on them. if it's possible to make 10 look super dark like my 18k pieces without outer plating, i've never seen it, once the outer plating wears off there's always a noticeable color difference in my collection that's made out of pieces older than i am that i inherited.
if it's true unplated 10k can look like 18 then you're the only one i've seen make that claim and maybe i need a 14k piece from you lol
Wtf are you talking about? 😂

Once the plating fades, you can just re-plate.
If it's solid gold there is no Plating to wear out. 10k is not plated, it is just a lower concentration of Gold mixed among the other alloying elements often used (Silver, Copper, Palladium, zinc, etc).
You don't need a specific type of gold to start out with to mix (10k, 14k), Gold is Gold (Pure gold that is, 24k .999/.9999).
A jeweler or refiner just weights out the amount of 24k gold, could even be a gold coin, Pamp bar, etc (or they utilize existing melted down gold on hand), they then add the other metals needed to meet their final Karat goal and color (Rose, White, Yellow).
10k = 41.7% gold 58.3% other metals
14k = 58.3% gold 41.7% other metals
18k = 75% gold 25% other metals
White Gold uses higher concentrations of Palladium and/or Silver to get the color. Uses less Copper to make it yellow/rose.
Rose Gold uses higher concentrations of Copper to get the color, less Silver
They cast the Gold/alloy mix in a ceramic mold of some shape, and then roll/press it out into wire, or whatever shape they are going for.
i think it is a superiority complex. Yall got 10k cause yo poor. "i dont wear anything below 23.9999k, yuck!". I've found that no matter how much you preach, there will always be a handful of dudes hating. On the plus side, it is excellent for youtube engagement.
Superbowl rings are 10k, just saying
The higher the karat , the higher the estrogen .
😂😂😂
The lower the karat the smaller your thang is lol
10 karat tarnishes for one lol. Over time it does definitely tarnish . Year and years later it definitely does
10k is for poor people 😂that is the truth
Ignorant
10k gold is garbage.
10k gold is for broke people
