- Hi everyone !
Back to read alongs ! Here is the much requested "Hunchback of Notre Dame". I had to mix two sources for the pictures, I wanted to scan the pages of my french copy, but then I found scans of the english one however it missed a few pages, so I mixed both.
I was 10 years old when this movie was released and my dad took me and my younger sister to see it at the local movie theater. Not long after, my dad bought this book and cassette for us. My sister and I used to listen to this and read along often. Sometimes we would play with the toys from the movie to the cassette. This brought back alot of wonderful memories. Thank you for posting this.

I loved this story, it's my all time favorite Disney Story and film.
This is wonderful. It acts as an exercise for me in regards to reading to children without being afraid to do it.
That's wonderful ! Practice, practice, practice and if you ever feel the desire, please feel free to share your reading with us ! :)
@@DisneyVintage Thank you, but I promised my parents that I wouldn't do that with you and the rest of the viewers on UA-cam. It's against the law to do that even though we're all strangers.

I always loved the part of Quasimodo because his heart was as good as gold
You're welcome, I'm glad it does ! That's what I try to do with the videos I post. Thanks for leaving a comment :)
wow I was looking all over for this. Had the book and casette as a child. Still made me a bit sad that Quasi didn't get Esmerelda in the end though.
+nintendofool Z Glad you liked it. Well in the original Hugo novel, he dies by Esmeralda's side, holding her lifeless body, if that's some sort of comfort ? Haha thanks for stopping by ! :)
+DisneyVintage no prob dude

I enjoyed listening to this read-along of the Disney film and thought it was well done. It summarized the plot of the film well and captured its tone. The only small flaw I can nitpick was the archdeacon completely glossing over Quasimodo and Frollo's infatuation with Esmeralda. Without that Quasimodo falling in love with Esmeralda is only given a quick mention during the Festival of Fools scene, and it seems that Frollo has a habit of burning down the whole city, anytime an ordinary criminal slips through his fingers for more than a day.
I understand it is adult material and they need to dumb it down for the kids listening, but the he could have quickly said that both Quasimodo and Frollo were becoming romantically obsessed with her, much to their confusion. While playing brief sounds clips of "Heaven's Light" and "Hellfire," the archdeacon would go on to say that Quasimodo began to see her as an angel and fall in love, wondering how she could be so kind to him, and Frollo, wondering how a Gypsy could seem so beautiful to him, began to covet her selfishly, declaring that if he cannot have her, no one else can. It would have told the story without explicitly portraying the sexual nature of "Hellfire".
A few years ago, I sought out the original novel by Victor Hugo after falling in love with the Disney film. After reading the book and also discovering the various stage musicals based on the Disney film (produced in Berlin, Papermill playhouse, and La Jolla theaters), I have really wanted to see a live-action remake of the Disney film to be done, combining the best of the original novel, animated film, and stage plays featuring additional scenes and deleted Alan Menken songs. Disney seems to be doing well with their Cinderella and Jungle Book remakes.
What would you think if Disney did that, making a PG-13 live-action movie that is at least two and a half hours, like the 2012 Les Miserables movie?
Notre Dame IS a Catholic Church. In church dogma, sexual lust IS a IMMORAL SIN & Disney is WHOLESOME, FAMILY ENTERTAINMENT, so they can't cover that.
I wonder why they changed the part of Quasimodo's mother's death from her getting kicked on the steps by Frollo to her tripping on the steps.
2:03 2 of the gargoyles are named Victor and Hugo after Victor Hugo, the author of the novel Notre Dame De Paris.

Ja, en ik heb het ook ! Maar er zijn geen liedjes of dialogen van de film, gewoon een paar muzieken die het verhaal accompagneren ... Is dat de versie wat je over hebt ? (sorry voor mijn Nederlands :P )
Oh thank YOU ! I LOVE your channel name, by the way ! :D

Hey ! :) I do have the audio but not the pictures of the book on the net, I was looking for them, but I don't think I'll be finding them soon... :/ So I could upload the audio, if that pleases you ? And if I ever find books scans, I'll reupload it :)
In the meantime, you can check out the Storyteller version I recently uploaded (it's longer). Thanks for your request !
Yes I'm pretty sure there is, but there aren't any mp3s or scans online, and when I don't find them on the net, I give up, cause otherwise I'd be spending millions on requests ^^' Sorry !
Oh thanks for asking ! Well I did okay/good for most of them except for two, and they really sank my global mark, so I'll probably have to pass those two again in August. I'm not sure, still waiting for the final verdict, but I'm resigned ^^'

The Archdeacon:Frollo You Will Not Touch Her!
11:23 11:56 12:04 Looks like Quasimodo is holding a white mail bag if you minus the hair arms and feet of Esmeralda, but I knew that would be her anyways. Also the picture kind of reminds me of the scene in the first Shrek movie when he carries the human Fiona, except Esmeralda is unconscious.

@Zachary Baker : Sorry I don't, but it'd be nice to find it !
My pleasure ! :)

Ok zal je misshien de nederlandse versie willen uploaden ? Ik zoek er zelf al een tijdje naar

Why does The Archdeacon narrate both the read-along, and Storyteller versions of The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Jiminy Cricket narrate both the read-along and Storyteller versions of Pinocchio, but Rafki only narrates the read-along version of The Lion King and not the Storyteller version?

Haha geen probleem . Ik vind deze diseny film een van de beste die ik ooit heb gezien . :)
No I don't, sorry ! :/ But I'll see what I can do, but I think it's rather a rare item and I doubt that i'll be able to find the audio and some pictures somewhere on the net (I don't buy the items, otherwise I'd be broke by now haha sshhhh :P)
But I do have the Golden Book ! Interested ?
It's on UA-cam, it's been posted by TheFlicker98 :)

+DisneyVintage Can I do a Redub of this video? I promise I will credit you for the Clips
I never had this book but I think the Archdeacon was a better narrator than Clopin.

Does anybody know who's narrating this?
It's David Ogden Stiers. He also narrated the beginning of Beauty and Beast.

Ah, yes, the fated reason why they didn't call Clopin "Clopin" in this: it's "kloh-PAH~n," NOT "klop-pin." Kids who would have read the name would have pronounced it wrong. If only they had a note in EVERY OTHER DISNEY HUNCHBACK BOOK that calls Clopin by name which says "Oh, and just so you know..."
Interesting remark ! Thanks for stopping by :) (I have a french version of Beauty and the Beast in which they warn french speaking readers of the way "Mrs" should be pronounced, so yeah, it could have been done ^^) Thanks for stopping by !
