Hi dears!! I wanted to share my experience having a urodynamics test and being diagnosed with Neurogenic Bladder, as well as share several catheterization tips from my own personal experience for other intermittent catheter users out there!!! If that's you you and you happen to actually be reading this, hello fellow tubie/cathie!!! ;) Since I am obviously, a woman, most of these tips apply to ladies and possibly ladies only! I was having terrible brain fog on both of the days I filmed this (had to record in two parts due to feeling sick), so please bear with me y'all!

I started using catheters last year for my neurogenic bladder (the speedy cath a lot like yours). I still have a lot of problems with my bladder even with using catheters. I still get a lot of bladder infections and even still pee the bed which is completely embarrassing. (I’m 24). My car accident happened at 8 and I was paralyzed. I’m no longer paralyzed but it took me a long time to get the use of my legs, hands arms, etc. i never got the use of my bladder back and live with it everyday. I still take all kinds of medicine for my neck from my spinal cord injury and the worst part of living with my injuries is my bladder. All the pain from my neck and everything doesn’t affect my life like my bladder does. I love ur tips and plan to use them. Thank u so so much you really helped me and made me realize I’m not alone in living with this. I personally use 180 medical. Btw: I’ve never used the sterilization packs that come with my catheters either lol I have like a million of them.

You helped me so much! I had Botox injections in my bladder for leaking. I was one of the few people that went into retention. I was hysterical at first! I’d always been scared of catheters and then be told I had to self cath for months until the Botox wore off. The first time I tried I cathed everything but my urethra! You are in inspiration! With the quarantine, I felt as though I was the only person in the world doing it. May God bless you.

I wish I could learn self catheterization seeing I'm suffering from UTIs frequently and my skin is wearing out from irritations. I can't afford a urologist 😢

DEHP is a chemical used to soften plastic, make it more malleable. It isn't good for catheters because it can rub off or leak a bit upon contact, so for such a sensitive area it can cause infection and other issues.

Don't be scared to go to a urologist. I went years with urinary retention until it fgot so bad I had no choice but to go to the hospital. Now that I know I have neurogenic bladder and have been taught to self catheterize I don't have so much stress about it. I still can't always feel when I have to go but I got used to my bodys signals over they years. Lots of love ❤

I hold the cath with my dominant hand, the opposite of what you do.

That makes sense. Honestly I switch from my left to my right all the time, I don't really have a preference.
