Welcome back to another river session ! Since the last session I have been excited to get back down to the Ribble and give it another go.
My main aim for this session was to bag myself some silvers on the feeder with the ultimate goal of a river chub! Safe to say I managed that.

River fishing is always a bit of a gamble with a chance that you might blank. The fish have miles of river to live in and may not be in front of you for most of the session. You can either take a roving approach, moving to different swims, or try to draw the fish to you with baiting but neither are guaranteed to be successful. I probably would have used braided reel line (for better bite detection) on Westys' session with a lighter hooklink and smaller hook if I was after silvers.

Not a massive fan of circle hooks myself as hooking a pike in the scissors isn't ideal and they are too big my nature. Still for the less experienced I don't think they are a bad idea. Certainly better than a treble down the gullet

Effort equals reward on these venues. I also fish at Mere Lane speci, Ribble, and Curwens Lake. I hope to bump into you at some point. Maybe we can do a few hours together while you're over this way... I fish for any species, too.
