As someone that went vegan at 13 after doing my own research almost 9 years ago it still blows my mind that all this information has been around for so long and people still don’t know about it! Thank you Bailey!!
It blows my mind how little people think about their food. I was 18 and did extensive research and have now been vegan for nearly 9 years. Crazy to think others don’t have a clue!
I quit buying grocery store meat a couple of years ago. I go the Farmers Market in town and I buy from local farms as well. The quality is amazing and honestly the price isn't that much different. I'd rather support my neighbor than Tyson or any other big corporations.
I have bought from local farmers forever…my Grandparents were farmers, and I grew up on real food. Once you have had the real thing you can never go back.🖤🇨🇦
The majority of the chickens my mum has are survivors rescued from these types of processing plants. They were in such a poor state when she got then, but now they are fully feathered and thriving but still have some issues as a result.
I love how in season three, Bailey is exposing specifically how American history and capitalism have harmed us. Perfect timing considering the current political environment.
We as a collective have asked for greater ease with less consequence. This does not exist. The powers that be will do what they can to form a facade that will well sell, but it is inauthentic and the tremendous amount of harmful outcomes eventually break through the thinly constructed veil.
Tyson is riddled with evil. If you're not doing it right, I don't want any part of it, and I'll do my diligence to ensure I don't end up consuming anything produced by them or anyone like them. It's a shame how money and hunger for power and control perverts everything, even things that begin wholesomely.
You think we could get rid of capitalism and free enterprise in the next election and be OK? Ummm...No. As long as there are greedy people -socialism won't work . There is a reason why it has never been successful in any country that has tried it 🤷🏻♀️
As a chicken owner, (they are my babies) I completely stopped eating poultry of any kind. they’re such sweet birds and have been so mistreated in the meat industry 😢 I love seeing my girls play and be able to walk on grass and breathe fresh air.
That happens when a company goes public. The shareholders demand the best return on investment possible. As a result, ppl suffer low wages and safety concerns, and quality goes way down. Government is not only negligent, but also complacent in lack of regulatory enforcement.
I just hollered at my boyfriend from the bathroom (shower time!) that "Tyson Chicken helped McDonald's make the chicken nugget" . And in the same breath, said "there are thousands of girls all over the world right now telling their boyfriends random facts about Tyson Chicken at this very moment" - he BELLY LAUGHED! THANKS BAILEY!!
You need to do a DH on the dairy industry, pork, and beef. It's wild and you did an amazing job on chicken farming so it could be part of a food manufacturing series you did. Also check out the Farm Bill.
So, Alabamian here with a plant in my town. The smell consumes half the city. It's awful. I have trauma as a kid seeing the trucks full of chickens... they employee mostly undocumented individuals, that's how they get away with the treatment. My mom, dad, step dad, and several friends have worked there. The smell is from the water... 😬 I promised myself as a kid that I would work literally anywhere other than the chicken plant. They're awful. Our hormone levels in the water kinda match.... 😬
I know that pest infestation is bad in the processing plants, but I LOL'd when the part about bugs in the chicken feed came on. Chickens LOVE bugs, especially grubs and maggots, they just go nuts for them. If you have chickens, you don't have bugs. Unless you're running a CAFO, that is.
Exactly lol! I had chickens for a while and their favorite snack was when I would take a shovel, scoop up an ant hill, and drop it in front of them. They'd go wild eating all the ants.
This is a really true. My neighbors have chickens. Our backyard and their front/side yard are not separated by any type of fence We let their chickens roam freely between our yards. We do not have problems with grubs since the chickens moved in.
I worked in a chicken plant. Some products are identical. We'd change over from a name brand, to a store brand, and all we'd do is change the packaging.
Well, the more I learn about meat processing, the closer I get to being vegetarian. I already don’t feel the ‘need’ to eat meat, a plate full of veggies is so much more appealing. This story just pushed me a little closer. Love you, Bailey!! Keep up the great work!!

Thank you for uploading this week. I know you’re going through a lot right now but it means so much to us that you still uploaded an episode of Dark History. Thank you for being the wonderful, goofy Bailey you always are!
YESS ! I refuse to eat Tyson products! My forensics teacher in high school told us about their first lawsuit and every since then I will not even look at it !
Ooh, in the fast food episode you should mention the uptick in colon cancer happening in young adult women! I was diagnosed stage 4 at 34, and I’ve met SO MANY other young women (and some men) in the same boat! It’s pretty much agreed that processed meats is how we all got it, and fast food is a huge contributor to that.
I can't wait to hear about this one, I've been a nurse for 24 years and still can't convince people ( Co-workers and patients) how important it is for them to research the food they eat and to change their diet. I don't force them or anything I just want them to see if for themselves. In 2017 my son was attempting to get me to change my diet as he had just became a vegan, he showed me a slaughter house video from that point I changed to a vegetarian. Worse thing I've seen😭, then Bailey got me as well🤣🤣
During the early 1950s my grandmother thought she would help my grandpa out financially by selling chickens door to door My mother woke up with a hundred baby chicks in their bathtub while my grandfather made pens out in the backyard it never really took off the ground but they did have quite a bit of chicken to eat.
Thank you Bailey & the Dark History team for all your hard work to bring us so many laughs and information! You are ALL super appreciated for all that you do! Love you all!
I went to a [rhymes with "Terdue"] farm and its a huge hanger like building and notices their beaks and feet werent yellow/gold like normal, its because they never see the sun. It was horrible, they were walking on carcasses, weaker ones were trampled to death. Sick..it actually caused me to be more choosey with my food. Most of it is from the FFA, 4H plus what we raise now.
My best friend works at Tyson… there’s a certain amount of “unidentified items” allowed in the food…. From bugs to plastics… not to mention the toxic work environment
Cover purina on dark history! I used to hop frieght trains and went thru the purina plant outside of st. Louis. People arent supposed to see what i saw and SMELLED there. Ill never feed my dog purina after that.
It's scary. There's an old abandoned purina plant near where I live and inside there's a circular bin thing that's supposed to have ingredients in it, a bunch of the ingredients are very carcinogenic or bad for their kidneys/heart. I hope they don't still use those ingredients.
A gross chicken meal was what made me commit to being a vegetarian 11 years ago. Then I learned about what actually happens in this huge industry 😳😳 learned too much, honestly. Ugh. It’s all horrifying. It’s just easier eating plants 🌱😅
Me too. I was desperate and starving during a double shift at the hospital. Went across the street to the McDonald’s because that’s all that was open. Tried for the least unhealthy thing on the menu. Grilled chicken sandwich with double mustard double pickles on whole wheat. Has eaten half of it before I realized it was raw in the middle. I looked up how to prevent salmonella and saw the videos of what Tyson does in its factories. Haven’t eaten meat since 2006ish.
Life is amazing when my co-workers are on holiday, which means I can binge-listen to Bailey all day at the office. Thank you so much Bailey, sending you all the love from The Netherlands !
Absolutely love Bailey, she's exposing big companies like Monsanto and Tyson. I've seen her expose coca cola and DuPont. Hopefully she does more of these style of videos they're amazing. Also, joan in a chicken package had me in stitches 😂😂😂😂😂 you're hilarious Bailey 😅😅😅
In my hometown there is a huge Tyson factory. The run off waste from the factory goes into the water of the town. Also the town smelled often from the factory, and I had friends who worked there and told everyone about how messed up conditions were for the chickens there.
During covid I was diagnosed with UC, and it lowers your immune response. My husband worked for the city and they all started getting sick. He was very hard working that he continued to work but in his own truck so that he didn't bring home the virus 😢. After his co worker brought home covid he said enough we have enough I'm quitting!!! Now that is ❤️. Maybe those workers from Tyson needed to realize family 👪 is always first.
For of all, thanks for staying true and not being a sell out! With your beauty, talent and cute personality I’m positive agents knock constantly!! Secondly! Thanks! I’m going vegetarian again as most in my life already are. Plus sharing this post on my Facebook! Love ya !
I learned all about this at like 12 and it kinda scarred me 😅. I’ve always been really cautious about my food choices since. I’m surprised at how many people don’t know this. As a Marine Science major, I really appreciate that you added the bit about the environmental impact of the waste and algal blooms. However, I do want to point out that not all algal blooms are harmful. Algal blooms occur naturally and can be very beneficial as a food source. They only become an issue when they are abundant, out of control, and fed fertilizer which is similar to steroids. It’s not an issue until we tip the balance ☺️ thank you for your hard work you put into this video. I have been watching you regularly for four years and I have to say I’m loving this new season of Dark History 🖤
Love you Bailey you're the gothic queen of all of our dreams and I was wondering if you could do a dark history on off brand foods and where they come from because I was shocked when I found out 🙌🖤
I saw the same thing on Food Inc. about Perdue and how they treat their chickens. It's probably owned by Tyson. If possible, get your meat from local farmers. It may be a little more but worth it. (The taste is so much better)
Hi Bailey, I'm learning about all the lies in packaging. Can you do something on "organic" food and the differences. I learned that Natural flavors can mean anything b/c all they need is the natural flavor but can add other chemicals. Aaaah! Information overload!
I worked for Wayne’s Farms once and it was awful too. There were roaches and they would use electro-convulsive therapy. They say it’s supposed to make it less painful for the chickens but idk how being electrocuted would make things any easier for them. They were very alert to anyone who may record inside the factory as well and would fire you immediately if you were caught because they didn’t want anyone to see the conditions people were working in/how the chickens were processed.
Last week I watched the monsanto episode & she mentioned Tyson at the end. Same weekend, I looked at chicken while grocery shopping, remembered Bailey was doing a video on Tyson, and walked away. Curious what it'd be about & figure it'd be awful news and of course it is 💀💀💀💀
Bailey I have been watching your channel for the past 4 years now whenever you upload a video I get so excited 😅 just one question though how you ever been to court for exposing these shady companies? Love from Australia 🇦🇺
Swindled Podcast did an episode (The Phantom) ages ago about workers dying at a chicken processing plant. Bonus intro story is about the Triangle Shirtwaist fire.
My hometown has a Tyson processing plant in it and there are days you can't drive on that side of town because the smell is soooooooooooooooooo bad. They really try at our plant to care for the workers and the chickens that come through there. But unfortunately they still fall short. Love you Bailey I still learn something new about history. You rock.
You and your team rock, you are so charismatic and making us learn by talking to us like friends, calling it goss, makes it so entertaining on top of being educative, this is genius
Y’all! I can’t! I’ve had food poisoning twice from chicken, Chick-fil-A and Popeyes. Never been the same. We should go after them for lying?! Not just mislabeling. The pool at my dad’s apartment is that green! I love your insight.
you should do a video on how people used to be convicted. like what evidence would they use/what would they consider evidence. also punishments that were used. it would be super interesting!!!!❤❤❤
Bailey, would you please do an episode on the NYSE? The stock market in general? I really don’t know enough about how it works. I’m sure I’m not alone.
Bailey is one of the only people I subscribe to. It's the only therapy I need each week. Side note: Tyson actually does smell horrible. I drove by there a couple of weeks ago on vacation, and I thought there was a dead body on the side of the highway. It was horrid. 🤮
This is exactly why I buy from a local family farm that delivers to my house. Their son was born with a condition and he doesn’t have a tolerance for pesticides, hormones, preservatives they put on grocery store produce so they out sourced to other local farms for fruits, veggies, meat, eggs, bread, milk, cheese, jams, etc you get the picture. Decently priced and you can literally see and taste the difference. Research 👏
Bailey, reading some comments, I feel like I’m behind. Have you been sick? I am really missing Monday’s MMM. Hope you are doing well. Keep your head up girl!! ( don’t eat crow, I mean Joan)🤣
Thanks Bailey I was eating chicken nuggets while watching this episode 😭😂. I don’t think I can eat them again, especially looking into debeaking. But thank you for opening my eyes.
Love this. & I recommend watching Supersize Me 2: Holy chicken (and 1 of course) if you haven’t . Very informative and exposing of the chicken industry
How do you keep your nutrients balanced? And not have vitamin deficiencies? Respectfully asking… cuz I eat hella chicken and kinda don’t wanna now:… but not sure how to maintain being healthy
@@Chaos.Christievitamins and minerals are mostly in veggies and fruits. You can get protein from beans, tofu, nuts, lentils, etc. Vegan alternatives are great too
@@Chaos.Christieyes and if you’re worried about deficiencies due current to health problems, there are vegan vitamins and supplements too, but honestly when I went vegan chicken was the first and easiest thing I gave up, then I gave up other things one at a time. I saw the same thing on Food Inc. about Perdue and how they treat their chickens. It's probably owned by Tyson. If possible, get your meat from local farmers. It may be a little more but worth it. (The taste is so much better)
Nothing is worth an animal dying for taste pleasure 💔
Did not expect an upload at all this week. Sending you so much love Bailey 🖤
Bailey whats your favourite lip liner ? ❤❤❤❤❤
Not me watching Bailey's Dark History about evil Tyson Chicken Co, while I'm cooking chicken!! Oh lawd have mercy!!😂
Just ordered my first piece of bailey merch :). Long over due can't wait to get it.
Thanks Bailey for opening more eyes. I live in an area that has been bought up by chicken farmers and continues to pollute our waters.
Mondays and Thursdays are the best since we get to hear from Bailey for most of them!❤
I’m always looking forward to Joan’s fits!!! They’re the highlight of the video 👌🏼💗
Who could imagine that this amazing video would not be an ideal companion to my breakfast? I'll hit that like button as soon as the nauseas stop.
Swear to go you teach me way more than I learned In school and I loved history when I was a kid it was my favorite subject ❤
Thank you Bailey! I’ve learned so much about shady corporations from your show. You’re really a godsend.
Y’all! I can’t! I’ve had food poisoning twice from chicken, Chick-fil-A and Popeyes. Never been the same. We should go after them for lying?! Not just mislabeling. The pool at my dad’s apartment is that green! I love your insight.
SuperSize Me 2 also talks about tyson/ big chicken & what the chickens go through & the farmers especially! Love this
you should do a video on how people used to be convicted. like what evidence would they use/what would they consider evidence. also punishments that were used. it would be super interesting!!!!❤❤❤
Love the shane reference!
Bailey, would you please do an episode on the NYSE? The stock market in general? I really don’t know enough about how it works. I’m sure I’m not alone.
That would be a fun episode
I can’t stop staring at Joan - she stole the show 🎥🏆
I just realized that was Joan😂😂😂😂
I'm so grossed out and thankful at the same time!
Bailey is one of the only people I subscribe to. It's the only therapy I need each week.
Side note: Tyson actually does smell horrible. I drove by there a couple of weeks ago on vacation, and I thought there was a dead body on the side of the highway. It was horrid. 🤮
Been waiting for this one since you mentioned Dark History- you are such a kindred spirit and LOVE that you cover topics I am always interested in!
RIP Saint, Bailey we are all hugging you virtually ❤
I went to college right down the street from a Tyson hatchery. It was so sad. The meat industry is so disturbing.
Her wee doggo Saint passed away the other week, so she’s probably been off having a much needed cry and…..nuggets.
Baily makes learning about modern attrocities tolerable (if not enjoyable). Now that's talent!
The guy who did the supersize me movie did another movie about the chicken industry and it’s even nastier than Tyson wants us to know!
do you know what it’s called ?! or where i can watch it
Please talk about the cape coast castle in ghana. I just heard a snippet of it and I would love to hear the whole thing from you.
Thanks Bailey I was eating chicken nuggets while watching this episode 😭😂. I don’t think I can eat them again, especially looking into debeaking. But thank you for opening my eyes.
Love this exposure. Never would've thought this Bailey Sarian. 😢
my cats names are chicken and nugget and they were tuned IN to this episode lol. listening to every word 😭
Love this. & I recommend watching Supersize Me 2: Holy chicken (and 1 of course) if you haven’t . Very informative and exposing of the chicken industry
And this is why I’m vegan lol, after learning about these companies and how well they hide under other names it’s just easier to avoid all together.
Thanks for caring about the chickens, they really get the worst :(
@@Chaos.Christie easily, never been deficient in anything and I’ve been vegetarian/vegan since I was 5. By choice btw.
Nutritional yeast has tons of b12, and vegans have better levels Vs meat eaters.
Eat a variety (lentils, tofu, veggies, fruit.) If you struggle with protein lots of vegan protein powders exist. The influencer “thatveganbabe” has tons of recipes for high protein.
Maybe I haven’t noticed before but I can see her reading the script a lot in this video. Just something I noticed. She reads it so naturally!
