I use caster oil with methyl hydrate. 1 part castor to 10 parts methyl hydrate. I use a pressure sprayer from the dollar store, it give a nice fine mist and it has marker lines to make it easier to mix your ratio.

It’s the same it’s only labeled as carrier oil because the company is a aromatherapy company and in aromatherapy we call it a career oil because it carries the essential oil to spread over an area of the body.

hello. i have afew question. thank you very much for helping me.
When we want to make a fiberglass mold and attach it to a latex rubber mold, can we use this formulation that you mentioned in this video and spray it on the latex rubber mold so that the latex mold can be easily separated from the fiberglass mother mold and not stick to each other?
I have seen some people who use PVA (poly vinyl alcohol) instead of this formulation. Can this material be used too?
    thanks,

Hey gris I hope all is well. I have a question that i am hoping you can help with. I shipped a rather large mold to someone and when it arrived there was a tear in the bottom flange that i am told goes into the inside of the mold . have you ever heard of any way to repair it with some new latex without it delaminating . I know my chances aren't good but i am hoping you have some magic solution

Thanks a lot for sharing this!! Soery I didn't understand. That power washers is just water to clean up right? And then you mis castor oil with alcohol and spray the latex with it? What about vpour? Is it safe? I only have space in the flat. But I'd like to do tiny items. Also I guess I cannot pour any of that stuff, castor, cement down the drain. Wonder if I can let the residue sit until hard and pour away washing water, and scrape the residue to the trash.. ? Thanks a lot again!!

    • @mrconcreteartisan
      @mrconcreteartisan  3 роки тому

Yes mix the alcohol with the castor oil or use the methyl hydrate instead of alcohol . The yapour is not an issue , if you are indoors using methyl hydrate ,have small fan running or an open window, the fumes evaporate very quickly.Yes clean your tools etc in a large bucket with water ,after a few days use wait until morning and pour off the water and dispose of solids in the waste bin.

Hey Samantha, just soak it in a sink or a large bucket of warm soapy ( dish soap). For about half an hour ,every 10 mins or so push them around in the water like an agitator on a washing machine. Give them a good rinse and they should be good to go.

I work with aromatherapy and carrier oils... A carrier oil is simply the base oil to carry the essential oils or other ingredients.. Almost all Essential oils need a carrier oil or another carrier to dilute it as they cannot be applied directly to the skin...
Some are food grade and can be consumed some are not....
Being labeled a carrier oil is not what makes it more expensive...
    It is priced by
    How it's pressed or extracted
    Being human food grade.
    Organic
How many pressings the same materials had. Hence extra virgin and first pressings are usually more potent...

The video is good and the variety of moulds that are present in your workshop demonstrate your vast experience and extensive knowledge on this matter. Further, it is great that you are willing to share it with others. However, re the video, the audio needs to be better. The volume of the commentary varies considerably and makes it difficult to follow your explanation. Can I suggest that you keep the microphone closer to you and that you also speak into it. Sometimes your commentary was at a distance from the microphone and, at one point, your were looking down at the material you were demonstrating and the audio was barely audible (I had the UA-cam speaker on full and my Laptop on 72% volume which was loud and clear for your introduction). Great visuals clearly demonstrated matters. I hope you're still making stuff and UA-cam presentations.
