    Is the final result any better than the starting point?

      Of course 😁. The denominator is completely rationalized.

    (1/9)^(1/9) = (3^-2)^(1/9)
    = 3^(-2/9)
    = (3^(7/9))/3
    = (2187^(1/9))/3

      I was about to comment that you can get the final result in 2-3 steps. This is how 😊

    Just my personal opinion.... Perhaps anyone interested in watching this level of maths video would have some basic algebra knowledge. I wonder if religiously writing down every little step is absolutely necessary.
    I played at double speed and still found the progress too slow 😢

      Absolutely. tedius. Furthermore the presented result is not particularly neat.

      you're absolutely right. The author is also taking way too many steps, I even saw some 'steps' in which he wrote down exactly the same twice. Calculating 9 - 1 into 8 does not require an extra step, nor explanation what you're doing.

    Solution drawn out too slowly, and not very much improved over the initial problem

    Rationalize the denominator, ok
    You had posted several videos like this, and lots of people had told you you can solve it in 2~4 steps.
    Why do you insist the way of changing something into A then B then C then D etc but ignoring you can go to D directly?
    Very curious about that.

    It was definitely counterintuitive but what does this have to do with maths?

      It's to do with rationalizing the denominator

    (1/9)^(1/9) == [1^(1/9)] / [9^(1/9)]
    Exponent property of raising a rational number to a power is the same as raising each to that power:
    [(m/n) ^ p] == [m^p / n^p] 👍
    Numerator: rule of exponentation states that one raised to any power is one. 👍 See below:
    1 / [9^(1/9)]✅
    Simplify the base and exponents under the radical:
    [9^(1/9)] == [(3^(2*1/9)]✅
    ❤ Note: After reducing the denominator to 3 squared, we next multiply it's exponent value 2 by the fraction 1/9. This results in creating the 9th root of 3 squared, when raising the base to the exponent 2/9.
    [3^(2*1/9)] == [3^(2/9)]
    1 / 3^(2/9)✅
    The denom isn't rationalized, so we multiply by one:
    [1 / 3^(2/9)] * [3^(7/9)] / [3^(7/9)]
    3^(7/9) / 3 ✅
