Be careful with some of those drop-in toilet tank cleaners. Some toilet manufacturers (mine are Kohler) specifically caution not to use in-tank cleaners because they can ruin the seals/gaskets in the toilet workings. I did not notice the warning stamped inside my tank and had to replace everything.

    • @curlybibliophagist2

I have one of the new Kohler toilets with the "torpedo" flush and flat apron with hidden bolts on the base. It has special innerds that are hard to find. Don't want to mess those up.

yup. Even on the discs themselves they basically warn you that they can cause damage.
The only thing I've found is something called flush n sparkle (Amazon has it, so does Wal-Mart and Menards). It is installed inside the tank but it goes right into the water pipe so the chemicals are not sitting in the tank water. They are only released when you flush and it goes through the pipe, not through the flapper gasket.
It's the only option I've found that is deemed safe for your toilet parts.

Mix chemicals all you want and wish for the best when you use them. I purchased tablets and it works as soon as I use it. I don’t need to measure it and hope for the best. You have to measure and make sure you use the right amount for it to actually work just to save a dollar. No thank you I can afford that extra dollar. A little over $7 a year won’t break me. Pay what you wish sweetie no one cares. 😉

@@nicolefl.9119 I mistakenly replied with, "I'd rather pay half the price for baking soda at Walmart or Kroger." to your comment when I meant to simply comment to the video in general. There was nothing condescending about it. I just find that I am at my local grocery store more so than I am at Dollar Tree where often times the better bargain is outside of Dollar Tree. For example, baking soda costs anywhere from $0.46 to $0.52 at the grocery store for the same size box. So, it was my mistake to have commented to you rather than the video in general. I was just sharing how Dollar Tree is not always the best deal for certain items. I'm not implying to anyone what they can or cannot afford.

      Hi Kenzie,
I use 3 parts water, 1 part white distilled vinegar (from the salad dressing aisle, not the cleaning vinegar), and a half teaspoon of Dawn dish soap. (*Dawn has some extra ingredient in it that makes it work better at more non dishes cleaning tasks. IDK what it is, but it works.)
My mom uses 3 parts water, 1 part hydrogen peroxide, and a half teaspoon of Dawn, to clean the bathroom. (That kills more germs according to mother.)
I use baking soda to scrub with the same way you would use Comet cleaner in the kitchen and the bathroom. After I've scrubbed, I rince it with straight distilled vinegar in a spray bottle on a fine mist setting. Let it set wet for 15 minutes to kill the germs. Then wipe up with a microfiber cloth to remove any residue. Baking soda works great around the faucets to get rid of hard water spots too.
For the dishes, (since I'm a widow now, it's just me) I use a 12 ounce clear spray bottle (I think I got it at Walgreens), and fill it with hot water and a squirt (teaspoon-ish) of Palmolive vinegar and lemon juice dish soap. I use a microfiber cloth on the dishes, and scrub sponge on the tough spots. I use that dish soap because neither the dishcloth, or the sponge, starts to smell funny after a day, even if you rince it well, Dawn makes the sponges smell bad at the end of the day. Yet works great in other cleaning areas, or very greasy pots and pans. Also Dawn goes bad in the spray bottle in 2 days when it's just water and dish soap. The Palmolive vinegar and lemon juice dish soap will last over a week if you haven't used it up by then. IDK why. Also Target's Up & Up brand “clear” dish soap works too, without getting nasty in the dishcloth or sponge.
For scrubbing inside of the toilet bowl I get that very large bottle of L.A.'s Totally Awesome dish soap at the Dollar Tree store. Also if your toilet is slow to drain, clogged, or about to overflow, just squirt about a quarter of a cup of that L.A.'s Totally Awesome dish soap, or any cheap dish soap into the toilet bowl wait a few minutes then flush. It goes down, it really works.
I hope this helps you out. I wish I was back at the beginning of my life, like you are now. There's a few things I'd like to tell my younger self if I could: (1) buy a cook book like a Better Homes and Gardens cook book, Walmart sells them. (2) buy a paper road map, local and national, to keep in the glovebox and a yellow highlighter. (3) keep a 3 ring notebook of your own medical records, and incase of emergency keep a purse size notebook with emergency contact info, doctor's office info, pharmacy phone number, allergies, medication list including over the counter medication too, EMTs and the emergency room will be very greatfull for that help. (4) don't rush though life it goes by so fast, stop and smell the roses. Have children before your 30 while your eggs are still fresh. Eat well and take good care of yourself and your family, force your husband to take care of himself so he doesn't leave you a young widow, and buy plenty of life insurance while you're young.
Sorry this is so long, I hope it helps you out. I've got a lifetime of knowledge and no kids to pass it on to. I see comments from young people and want to help out.
Good luck, take care, stay safe.
      👵 ☺️ ✌️ 🖖 😷

I couldn't figure out why you kept talking about the Renuzit scent cones, then I realized this whole video was an add for them. I didn't see the blue hash tag line in the title at first, but after checking the description box and seeing the disclaimer I went back and checked the title and saw it. I thought you had to disclose adds in the actual video. I understand the monetary need for taking sponsorships, and I always appreciate it when UA-camrs are upfront with their adds otherwise it is a little off putting.
