Do I have any dollar trees in my country.... no. Do I still click to watch it to have Kathryns positivity? Absolutely 💯 ♡♡
They sell things in bulk online
Shannon it is the same with me:-)
lucky for you
Do you have anything like a dollar store?
Same here!!!!
I loved this. Even at 77 I learned more. Can you imagine!
😍👍🏽

Love the idea of different gloves for specific areas in the house.
Yes me too
Very smart!
And just like that, I have the motivation to clean my house!
@Amy Ferguson can you come clean mine when your done with yours?? 😂😂
Christine 🤣🤣🤣 on my way
Right everything just looks so nice n clean n fresh makes u wanna clean!!!! Im looking around like hmm what can i clean
Love the tip about the sponge to clean the window tracks.
I use disposable wipes in the windowsill and tracks. No, I don't flush them when I'm done, just throw them away!!
I am going to try this tip too!
I'm going to try this tip too. Sounds alot easier than what I've done in the past. Thanks.
That's an oldie but goodie hack. Easy way to cut sponge is to place on windowsill and use a permanent marker to know where to make your cut(s). Easy peasy!
Agree.. so quick and easy too!!
Loved this. My favorite hack is use a old pillow case to clean your ceiling fan and it catches the dust for you.
I dampen and wring out my pillowcase when I do that so that I'm wiping it clean AND catching the gunk too. Two 🐦 birds with one 🧱 stone!
@@melissadeville1703 that's a great idea. Thank you for sharing.
I don't have a ceiling fan at this time, but this is brilliant.
Kathryn, you're awesome! Your energy and happy personality are such a joy! ❤
That window hack is my new lifesaver! Ty!!!
Yes!! Mine too...great hack👍
I just replied if you place the sponge on windowsill and then mark with a permanent marker to know where to make your cut(s) it helps. An oldie but goodie hack.
Cannot wait to use this at my daughter’s farm. She is SO busy that I get to help when we visit. Perfect solution for all her spiders and webs, ugh!!
You’re so sweet and you give me so much motivation for life in general
Thank you so much for all your positivity and helping people stay motivated to keep their houses clean and organized.
In a trying time like we live in right now that is just sooo important, not only for our mental but physical health.
You are greatly appreciated!!
YES!!! 👍👏💜
Kathryn, I just love you, your hubby, your sons, and dog. I also love your videos how to clean, cook, and organize. Thank you so much for these wonderful ideas. I’m going to The Dollar Tree!!! ❤️❤️👏👏
I love the Renuzit cones! “After the Rain” is my favorite!
Thank you so much for this. Depression is hitting today, and I needed some cleaning inspo and motivation.
Kathryn, you're so delightful to watch and listen to. We don't even have a Dollar Tree in Melbourne, Australia; I still tune in to listen to you. Such a joyful, faithful girl. Bless you treasure girl. xxmary
Such a sweet kind woman. Your encouragement during and at the end of this video were priceless! Thank you for your smile
Be careful with some of those drop-in toilet tank cleaners. Some toilet manufacturers (mine are Kohler) specifically caution not to use in-tank cleaners because they can ruin the seals/gaskets in the toilet workings. I did not notice the warning stamped inside my tank and had to replace everything.
I have one of the new Kohler toilets with the "torpedo" flush and flat apron with hidden bolts on the base. It has special innerds that are hard to find. Don't want to mess those up.
Yeah that happened with ours but 8 discovered the cheap different colored ones that hang inside... smells good and helps keep them clean. I discovered them at my son's house and his bathroom smelled good and he showed them to me lol
Good to know about the drop-in-toilet I always use them thank you for sharing that Information
Yes! Avoid these at all costs!
yup. Even on the discs themselves they basically warn you that they can cause damage.
The only thing I've found is something called flush n sparkle (Amazon has it, so does Wal-Mart and Menards). It is installed inside the tank but it goes right into the water pipe so the chemicals are not sitting in the tank water. They are only released when you flush and it goes through the pipe, not through the flapper gasket.
It's the only option I've found that is deemed safe for your toilet parts.
So did you know that you can open the Renuzit from the top little opening? Use a butter knife to open it and it last 100% longer :0 )
ua-cam.com/video/qeYhQxiGKu4/v-deo.html
They smell good for like 2 days and then the scent fades... am I doing something wrong 😭
@jenibeexo B no it works....youtube a video or something. Its not hard to do 😄
Renuzits sent never Last for more than a couple days in my house , but thanks for the video
@@itsannlyfe3295 no you just go nose blind to the scent (get used to it) so it doesnt smell as strong to you or smell any different to you anymore bc you are so used to the scent being there.
every single time i watch one of your dollar tree videos i already want to go after watching it
Your ideas are so creative and useful! Love your cheerful spirit! Good luck to all the moms and dads doing home school! Good luck to me and others who are working and homeschooling. Wish me luck
I love your smiles, upbeat attitude, excitement, and down to earth simple appproaches & methods. Very good tips and tricks too!💖💖💖
My Dollar Tree (Canada) has new “magic” eraser sheets. I think there are 10 or so to a package. They are even better than erasers as when you are done you throw the sheet away and you don’t wear through a big sponge for a small job!
Just tear pieces off the eraser like I do.
For the cone air fresheners, they are actually cheaper at Target. My local Target sells them consistently one for 89 cents.
Oh good to know!!
Even in Walmart too.. they are selling for 87 cents
If you use coupons and buy them at Walgreens when they're buy 4 get 2 free, they come out to .26 cents each after submitting to the ibotta rebate ( you get $2 back)
Even Fry's
Well she mentioned that in the video
I love the cutting of the sponge for the window sill
YAY !!! More great cleaning tips and ideas from Kathyrn the great 👍🏻👍🏻💜🤗❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻👵🏼🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
Also she has the best little supervising assistants.
Yes, we're going through a major renovation in our house. I've never made so many trips to the donation center ever before. I've been going about daily/sometimes twice for the last three weeks. It's tough but my daughter is now college age so it's time. Love your window sill idea. We had one window we don't open much and the mold in it was unbelievable.
I hope I can find the mop replaceable heads at my local Dollar Tree 🤞🏼
Soooo motivated!!! Who new that a simple video of cleaning could ease your mind and make you feel great!
Dollar Tree was my savior in college!!! From awesome cleaning/organizing supplies to good snacks and soft drinks!
Love the idea with the sponge to clean window sills! The rubber gloves are so cute too! Thank you! 🤟💕
Our boys' aim got better when they had to clean it up ;)
🤣🤣 I bet.... Although my cleaning OCD probably wouldn't be satisfied with "their version" of 'clean' though lol
RedHotTamale91 lol for sure. Although you can make them clean it while you guide them so they can see how much work it is. And you can always go back and do it yourself to make sure it’s thoroughly cleaned. Hopefully the more they clean it the better their aim and the better they get at cleaning it thus 1 less thing u have to clean 🧽.
@@RedHotTamale91they did a good job & I went over it when they went back to playing. When I went back to work when they were in middle school, the 3 oldest took turns cleaning the bathrooms. I refused to spend all day long cleaning after working a 45+ hr wk and being on call for my boss also.
Hahahaha that's funny! Same thing happened with me lolol
@@susancnw59 Thank you for sharing. I also refused spending so much time and energy cleaning. Ironically, I was laid off from my "former life of slavery" 4 years ago! Now I have the privilege to compassionately scrub away... and have come to know so much about my purpose in this "abundant life". There is nothing that compares to it....not even the money a "real job" brings. Amen.
I absolutely love your positivity! You actually make the boring dreaded cleaning fun. Thank you!
I love the sponge idea for cleaning the grooves in window runners!!😍
I forgot about the Renuzit cones; I'm going to get some and the cute cleaning gloves next time I shop. I love to use the Mr clean type sponges on my sink for quick cleanups. My family is forever leaving splashed food bits on the inside of my sink that don't rinse away. Shines it right back up!
I make my own cleaners, too. I love using the dollar tree dawn and a spray bottle (a little goes a long way). Then I add a few drops of my favorite essential oils to give my surfaces a lovely, fresh scent.
I put a dryer sheet at the bottom of my garbage pails to help with odors. Thanks for all you do & share with us
I do too!
I love to watch you tell your viewers about your DT favorites. I shop DT but just never ever gave a thought to some of the things you use. Thanks
Excited to try those scent things around my house and the sponge hack for cleaning window cracks!
I love all your hacks, I can’t wait To Try them, also I tried the cleanings you used for a car and I was impressed 🤗
Cutting the sponge 🧽and aligning with the grooves that are in the window seals is mind blowing never thought of that. And having different different gloves 🧤for different cleaning areas game changer☝️👏
Her voice is soothing 😌 and motivates you to organize & clean!
Some really good tips, thank you! I have to get to the Dollar Tree this week. Also, our kitten freaked out at the magic sponge sounds. 😹😹
We’re buying our first home so I’m doing a DEEP clean to move out of our apartment! Just the video I needed to see to inspire me!
Congratulations !
momof2 thank you so much!!!! I’m so excited!!
Hoowoo awesome 👌 👏 😎
I'm sure I'm not alone, but oftentimes if I can't sleep at nite I go back & watch some if ur older videos. This one is from a year ago & I had forgotten how to simplify cleaning a window sill, so that's Kathryn for helping to make my day every day👌👍🤗
I have organized and cleaned so much with all these ideas, Thank you. I am a Dollar Tree fan!!!!
I love their bags of disposable gloves. They are perfect for cleaning and waxing shoes. No one like dark shoe polish on their nails! They now have furniture markers to cover any nicks. Buff with Endust and the marks disappear.
My favorite question ever: Why did I not think of this before?!
Thank you for always providing the best tips, you have helped me make my house into a home ♥️
Thanks for all your have shared over the years. Be safe and be well!
I hit save on these and go back to make my list rewatching. I love your voice Kathryn - uplifting and happy! Thank you!
After seeing you recommended them a few times, I’m finally trying one of the Dollar Tree cone air fresheners in our laundry room. This is where the cat’s litter box lives so it will be a true test. 😸 Even with daily cleaning, sometimes it needs a little help. 😉
Hi Gypsy Belle,
Try sprinkling a tablespoon of baking soda in the cat's litter box. Not too much, cats are fussy about their litter boxes. They walk in them, then lick their feet clean later.
Hope this helps.
☺️ ✌️ 🖖 😷
The freshness sticks I just learned theres a spot on the top you pop out to make them last longer I've been opening them wrong my whole life lol
Love love love the window sill hack and will put it to use!
The Magic Erasers are truly amazing.
Thank you for sharing :) We just bought a house and will definitely be getting some supplies at the Dollar Tree!
12.15am, Tuesday in Perth, Australia. Hey girl
love your hacks!!
Dollar Tree cleaning supplies are my go to...thanks to you!
If you put all your citrus peels (limes, lemon, oranges, etc) down the disposal, you won't have to clean it. Everytime you run it, it will deodorize and clean it. And its free if you use citrus.
That and coffee grounds.
Although now we are composting all of those items.
Hi The Modern Hippy,
If you throw some ice cubes, and a quarter cup of baking soda, in the disposal along with the citrus it cleans even better.
Take care, stay safe.☺️✌️☮️🖖😷
I love murphy's oil soap 😍 something about the smell I just love.
Oh me too ! Is smells sooooooooo good ! It makes wood look like new ! :)
Me too except it’s chemical
@@MM-gi2nn well it's the least chemical thing out there.. look at what the ingredients say
Me too!
Love that sponge trick for the windows💕👍
Loved the garbage disposal hack.
‼For your RENUZIT CONE‼
The part you're smelling theres a little groove under it and you can take something thin and lift it up. It pops up and you pull up on it. You don't have to take off that pretty packaging 💚💙
It lasts longer that way too! 🤍
Your dollar tree always seems so full. We have several where I live, and some are really bad about restocking.
And cleaning...ironically.
Love the idea of scoring the sponge for the windowsills!
Just made my day! Your spirit shines so bright. God bless you 😊🙏
I love the DT magic erasers. I so plan on snagging a steam mop later this year.
I love steam mops for hard floors!
I have a bissell steam mop that I absolutely love. Works amazingly well and just uses distilled water!
@@farhaadam184 That's awesome!
@@ArtsyCupcake That's a great idea! I hope to use mine in the kitchen and the bathrooms. Especially the boy's bathroom!
LPT, amazon actually has giant packages of them for super cheap if you look for melamine sponges!
I will be looking for the cleaning cloths.
What I love about your videos is that they are quick because you get right to the point. 😊
Thank you for sharing this. Have a blessed and safe day
You have the cleanest garage ever
This video was amazing! I loved every second of it 😍 thank you for all the work you put in your videos!! I've been watching them for atleast a year.
I love you so much! This channel is so cute, funny and friendly 😚I want to try everything you do,carry on making what you love! 😄.
I have never thought of cutting a sponge ti fit a groove!! So simple it's brilliant 👍👍
Thank you God bless you and your family
I love your videos and Im looking forward for hopefully some more back to school videos!!!!!!
I did a fun 80s themed back to school video. Loving all the fall stuff too!
Artsy Cupcake ill have to check it out!!
I love the Renuzit air fresheners. The apple cinnamon is one of my favorites, along with raspberry and the snuggle fabric softener scent. Is that a coffee filter wreath in your bathroom? That was one of the first crafts I remember watching on your channel.
Do you know if you the small top piece pulls up. So it last longer.
You're my favorite cleaning/organizing lady!! Thanks for the tips!!😊
Loved your ideas and especially the idea for getting that hard to reach/clean window runner area. Thanks so much!
Monday cleaning Motivated!!
Thank You 😴🙂
Baking soda and ice? Genius and something I've never hear of before!
Never heard of it either. Yet I buy tablets from amazon $2.38 for 4 tablets and I use a tablet a month, so that’s worth it for me.
Crystal Carreras where does your comment relate to the original comment? Or are you just trying to be a smartass to me?
Mix chemicals all you want and wish for the best when you use them. I purchased tablets and it works as soon as I use it. I don’t need to measure it and hope for the best. You have to measure and make sure you use the right amount for it to actually work just to save a dollar. No thank you I can afford that extra dollar. A little over $7 a year won’t break me. Pay what you wish sweetie no one cares. 😉
@@nicolefl.9119 I mistakenly replied with, "I'd rather pay half the price for baking soda at Walmart or Kroger." to your comment when I meant to simply comment to the video in general. There was nothing condescending about it. I just find that I am at my local grocery store more so than I am at Dollar Tree where often times the better bargain is outside of Dollar Tree. For example, baking soda costs anywhere from $0.46 to $0.52 at the grocery store for the same size box. So, it was my mistake to have commented to you rather than the video in general. I was just sharing how Dollar Tree is not always the best deal for certain items. I'm not implying to anyone what they can or cannot afford.
One of my favorite cleaning things from Dollar Tree are the mopping pads, even if you dont have the handle to it you can use the bottom of your broom to do a quick wipe up of any messes!
Thank you for sharing these tips!! Much appreciated!!
I put toilet bowl cleaner in the dish soap "wand" with the sponge to clean the toilet. (I dm'd messaged u on fb).
Thats an interesting idea! I like it!
Great idea! And they sell this already. It’s the Clorox Toilet Wand. You can buy the starter pack at your grocery store. Then my local Sam’s Club has the refill sponges. I buy a big refill box for $10 and it lasts months.
If you have pets, just make sure the toilet lid stays down when you use the tablets.
Those things are a bad idea anyway
I am totally going with the grooved sponge tip for window sills. Genius!
The shower foam cleaner from Dollar tree works AWESOME!
My plumber told me that the bleach tank tabs will erode all the rubber and gaskets in the tank
I have had this happen.....don't use them anymore.
Yeah my handyman told me the same so I don’t use those but I just add vinegar to the bowl when cleaning:)
Julie Fizpatrick same here
Same here. Plus he said that it can corrode the coating on the porcelain of the toilet and can lead to dirt sticking easier in that area.
Yuppp had this happen to me too :(
That air freshener where you squeeze it to get the scent out of it pops up and make sure Cone last longer instead of opening at the way you are on the video
Thank you! I love all your ideas!
I love the gloves for every room and the mop pads for the swifter! Thank you’🤗
Hey can you give a "recipe" to that cleaning spray with the dish soap and vinegar? Super helpful for a college student :)
Yasss
I make it with 3 parts water to one part vinegar. Then add a couple drops of Dr. Bronner's peppermint liquid soap. This way, you can make it in any size spray bottle you have.
@@jtviolet ty
Hi Kenzie,
I use 3 parts water, 1 part white distilled vinegar (from the salad dressing aisle, not the cleaning vinegar), and a half teaspoon of Dawn dish soap. (*Dawn has some extra ingredient in it that makes it work better at more non dishes cleaning tasks. IDK what it is, but it works.)
My mom uses 3 parts water, 1 part hydrogen peroxide, and a half teaspoon of Dawn, to clean the bathroom. (That kills more germs according to mother.)
I use baking soda to scrub with the same way you would use Comet cleaner in the kitchen and the bathroom. After I've scrubbed, I rince it with straight distilled vinegar in a spray bottle on a fine mist setting. Let it set wet for 15 minutes to kill the germs. Then wipe up with a microfiber cloth to remove any residue. Baking soda works great around the faucets to get rid of hard water spots too.
For the dishes, (since I'm a widow now, it's just me) I use a 12 ounce clear spray bottle (I think I got it at Walgreens), and fill it with hot water and a squirt (teaspoon-ish) of Palmolive vinegar and lemon juice dish soap. I use a microfiber cloth on the dishes, and scrub sponge on the tough spots. I use that dish soap because neither the dishcloth, or the sponge, starts to smell funny after a day, even if you rince it well, Dawn makes the sponges smell bad at the end of the day. Yet works great in other cleaning areas, or very greasy pots and pans. Also Dawn goes bad in the spray bottle in 2 days when it's just water and dish soap. The Palmolive vinegar and lemon juice dish soap will last over a week if you haven't used it up by then. IDK why. Also Target's Up & Up brand “clear” dish soap works too, without getting nasty in the dishcloth or sponge.
For scrubbing inside of the toilet bowl I get that very large bottle of L.A.'s Totally Awesome dish soap at the Dollar Tree store. Also if your toilet is slow to drain, clogged, or about to overflow, just squirt about a quarter of a cup of that L.A.'s Totally Awesome dish soap, or any cheap dish soap into the toilet bowl wait a few minutes then flush. It goes down, it really works.
I hope this helps you out. I wish I was back at the beginning of my life, like you are now. There's a few things I'd like to tell my younger self if I could: (1) buy a cook book like a Better Homes and Gardens cook book, Walmart sells them. (2) buy a paper road map, local and national, to keep in the glovebox and a yellow highlighter. (3) keep a 3 ring notebook of your own medical records, and incase of emergency keep a purse size notebook with emergency contact info, doctor's office info, pharmacy phone number, allergies, medication list including over the counter medication too, EMTs and the emergency room will be very greatfull for that help. (4) don't rush though life it goes by so fast, stop and smell the roses. Have children before your 30 while your eggs are still fresh. Eat well and take good care of yourself and your family, force your husband to take care of himself so he doesn't leave you a young widow, and buy plenty of life insurance while you're young.
Sorry this is so long, I hope it helps you out. I've got a lifetime of knowledge and no kids to pass it on to. I see comments from young people and want to help out.
Good luck, take care, stay safe.
👵 ☺️ ✌️ 🖖 😷
@@BROUBoomer oh my, thank you very much!
Be careful when you use tabs in your toilet tank. They wear out the flap and you will end up with a running toilet and have to replace the flap often.
Love the "magic" erasers, they are great, I buy the 3 packs when available.
I love the magic erasers for cleaning shower windows - those plus bar keepers friend get off the soap scum!
@@ArtsyCupcake we onced moved in a place that they said was "cleaned." Well I never trust someone else's cleaning.... I used one of the erasers to clean the tub. There was a nasty, gray soap scum build-up! Disgusting what the erasers open our eyes to.
Thanks for all of your ideas. I'm always inspired from watching your videos. I loved the window cleaning /spliced sponge idea!! Will absolutely use this technique.
Thanks love the dollar tree foam glass cleaner!
I find myself at middle age having to take an abnormal job so that I can assist my elderly mom who cannot drive.....
I'm stocking shelves at Dollar Tree 5-9 a.m.
Bwahahahaha!
And no I don't get a discount.
my daughter worked there as a teen and I ended up spending so much when I went to pick her up at the end of her shift...I used to joke that I paid her salary
a job is a job!! your mother is lucky to have you!! :)
Hi mdoe37,
The fact that you have a job during this pandemic is a miracle. Good for you!
That you are helping your mother out, God Bless you.
Finding a job during middle age, pass that info along to the rest of us... 👵 Please.
☺️ ✌️ 🖖 😷
Bah! No discount :( I loved working at Target one Christmas. I saw so many cool things come through my checkout.
@@BROUBoomer Lots of jobs around here right now. The pay, well, eh. They are currently adding the $2 per hour bonus for working during the pandemic. I'm not worried about the safety....I'm starting at 5 a.m. and end when the store opens, so pretty much no contact with the public, just a couple co-workers.
I told my dad just before he passed that "you know I've got this." The goal is to keep her in her home. BTW....I'm an only child and pretty much the only relative. :)
As for finding a job.....this sort of job is plentiful. Working weird shifts in an office is plentiful. Regular office work in my mid-50's, not so much. I'm going to start cleaning houses self-employed when mother finishes her therapy.
I spoke with a friend the other day. We agreed that the days of putting your shoulder to the grindstone for a company are over. Side hustles are where its at.
I couldn't figure out why you kept talking about the Renuzit scent cones, then I realized this whole video was an add for them. I didn't see the blue hash tag line in the title at first, but after checking the description box and seeing the disclaimer I went back and checked the title and saw it. I thought you had to disclose adds in the actual video. I understand the monetary need for taking sponsorships, and I always appreciate it when UA-camrs are upfront with their adds otherwise it is a little off putting.
She said she was glad to Partner with Renuzit for this video. So she literally said it was pretty much sponsored... XD
Who cares???! That was super long winded for something that should matter so little in the grand scheme of your life. Go outside and get some sunshine.
Im still in with love with pinesol.😍
God bless u, on all u do.
Beautiful family, super ideas.
I think you're supposed to wet those magic erasers. The sound of them scraping on the wall made me think you may have been using them dry
They were damp! 🤪🤪. Crazy right?
@@DoItOnaDime omg! That is crazy lol, I would hate to hear what they sounded like dry
