I think that after Andy & Barney, Floyd was the most beloved character on TAGS !! One of a kind,,
Recently I watched an episode of The Flintstones where Fred hypnotizes Barney. Now Barney thinks he is a dog so Fred takes Barney to the doctor. The doctor was absolutely hilarious and the doctor was voiced by Howard McNear.
Kind, gentle, innocent. Perfect Mayberry Barber.
Sweet video. Howard McNear was talented. Really added to TAGS. Always thank you. Melanie. Blessings to all.
This is one of the best videos I've seen.Howard was such a great actor and I'm so glad that Andy worked it out where he could come back. I thought he was more hilarious after the stroke. He reminded me of my great-grandmother family. They all took life east and slow and he even favored one of my greatuncles. Thanks for this video Bob.Hope you and your family have a wonderful weekend!😊
We used to listen to Gunsmoke on XM radio running between Chicago and California.
❤ that Floyd was Elvis’s wingman in the movies
Bob, one of your best on one of the best.. Thank you so much.. Good luck with the gig tonight. 🎤🎶
Floyd was a great actor! Loved when the manicurist came to "friendly Mayberry" Funny, funny! 💕 Enjoy your wk-end Bob!
Thanks Bob for this AGS F & T segment. Howard McNear was a very funny man and was great as Floyd, Mayberry’s barber. He played a barber on LITB. God Bless our Floyd 🙏 Great segment Bob.
Floyd the barber was hilarious!
The character Floyd was a huge part of the Andy Griffith show’s appeal. Howard McNear was in some ways, a genius actor.
The Gunsmoke radio shows are really good.
5:41 "You're funny for a sheriff."
I loved Floyd talking about how nice a sound the shaving brush made against the cup. "Klep, klep; that's such a nice sound."
Great foresight keeping his part open while he recovered 👍
Floyd really took the spotlight in two episodes, Convicts at Large and Floyd the Gay Deceiver.
BOTH of those are on my Top 10 TAGS Episodes list!
@@D-FensDogG Mine too.
@@David-yw2lv Great minds laugh alike! 😄
Great video, Mr. Snapp! Always enjoyed Mr. McNear in his roles, just never knew how many there were!
Another performer who did wonderful work after a stroke was Ellen Corby as Grandma Walton! Blsgs, gg🙏🙏🇺🇸❤️🙋☝️☝️
Howard Mc Near played Floyd the barber very well on the andy griffith show he was funny good video bob
In "Convicts at Large," his last episode before suffering a stroke, Floyd was hit over the head with a vase by one of the escaped convicts. Maybe the cause of his stroke? He was hit pretty hard!
Great video. That was interesting about Elvis wanted to talk to Howard
Howard was a hoot as the Plumber on George and Gracie Burns TV show.
Thank you sir..I thought for a long time, that Howard had been replaced.. But saw that he had gotten sick.. And later a stroke.. Thanking JESUS for Him being healthy enough to work
And Andy being compassionate to have him back.
Great information Uncle Bob! I enjoyed this about Howard McNear.
I recall two episodes of the "Peter Gunn" TV series that Howard guest-starred in. In both episodes he sorta played variations of 'Floyd the Barber.'
One episode in particular: "Slight Touch of Homicide," had McNear's character being a vigilante. I won't go any further on the episode. It's got to be viewed to be believed.
That Peter Gunn episode [228] can be found online at the _Dailymotion_ website.
Floyd the barber was a good actor .shared
Thanks Bob,that was a very good one. Praying for you Bob 🙏
Thanks John
He was great as Floyd. I remember him playing a doctor in the Jimmy Stewart movie Anatomy of a Murder. Didn't one episode say that Floyd had made enough money to retire? It's great that Andy brought him back. The Loaded Goat began in Floyd's barbershop. But he was out to lunch. His cameo in Divorce, Mountain Style often gets cut out.
Great video Bob, I had no idea he was in so many things, I liked him as Floyd on the show.
Bob, as a well-educated musician, my degrees are in piano performance. I am glad to hear you are a musician, also, sir.
Have been playing for 42 years in all. Guitar and Bass
I never heard that much info on Howard McNear before. Fantastic video, Bob. ❤
Thanks😁
I Thought Calvin Coolidge said that.
Then Andy says , Calvin Coolidge didn't say everything Floyd !
Great guy! 🤓😎✌🏼
Wow! He was very versatile!

Nirvana even had a song called Floyd The Barber. Floyd was a cool guy. :))
Yup
Excellent video today, thanks. I didn't know you played music! On my channel there's several songs all recorded at church if you're interested in your spare time. Praying for ya also :)
The "Floyd The Barber" Character was so ingrained in Pop Culture that "SCTV" Star Eugene Levy even Parodied what would happen if "Floyd Lawson" commanded "Mayberry" as "Floyd Corleone!" Devastatingly hilarious.😂💇♂️💈🎤👮♂️📺B.W.
I really liked His Character. Such a Sweetheart.
I’m Praying for You Uncle Bob.
Saul Howard play a travel agent in blue Hawaii, and he acted kind of dopey in the Andy Griffith show, and he acted dopey as a travel agent. Was he stuck with that persona
❤❤❤😮😮😮😊😊😊
❤👍👍
Bob, I hope you see this. My husband read this morning that Aneta Corsaut didn’t like Don Knotts because she was having to compete for Andy’s attention. Is this true? We were wondering.
First I've heard of it. Where did he read it?
Great video. Thanks for posting!
Thanks for watching!
Floyd was the funnist werido in tv history..
