In this video I build on my original “Plan a Productive Day using Notion” video and share my latest practical & aesthetic Weekly Agenda Template on Notion (completely for free of course)! 🌟
One area Notion truly shines is its ability to help your organize your life. And what better place to start than your week? In this weekly Notion planner, you can see I’ve boiled all the planning and organizing down to the basics to minimize friction and ensure you’re able to consistently stick with this day-to-day, week-by-week
Whether you’re working professional or student, it’s extremely easy to get started with this Notion weekly agenda template. My recommendation is to sit down for 5 minutes in the morning, and write down 1 highlight, 1 thing you’re grateful for, and 1 thing you want to let go (and...let it go!)
Then, under the “Daily To-Do’s” section, use the new and improved template button I created and add 1 or more action items you complete on a daily basis (stretching for example). Then, write a few high-level activities you want to go through during the day and that’s basically it!

There are several font options you can add without adding packages. A nice San Serif one can be added by doing \mathsf{
e.g. \mathsf{\color{#00A6BC}\colorbox{#3E4247}{MONDAY}}

Hey Jeff! I have been noticing people using Notion for a while and am really fascinated by its wide-ranging usage. I wanted to use it for a digital bullet journal (yes I kept writing for 3+ years) but did not know how to start. And there you are, with your video and super useful template! Tip, so you don't have to throw your finished tasks. Make it a table, group it in "checked" and "unchecked". Then hide the checked group. That way you also will have a date when you did the change

Not exactly related to this topic, but I found (in)distractable from Nir Eyal very good to basicly set was essential and important and what was getting in the way and keeping me distracted from my goals for the day or "highlights", as you called them. Hi Jeff, I was wondering if you could make a video about performance reviews: how to prepare for them and navigate the conversation. Especially if there has been negative feedback shared with your line manager but such issues/solutions were never escalated prior to the review. It would be helpful to get tips on how to manage expectations early on so that you don't end up doing more than you're responsible for & burning out.
Another question I had as well would be how to navigate the first 6-12 months in a new job. Some places do onboarding well and others, not so well, so it would be interesting to hear your thoughts on this. Are there any tips/best practices you have for transitioners? Thank you!

You could automate the process of archiving your daily to-do if you created the list as a database - change the view to a list view or sth minimalistic, sort the to-dos by date created and checked/unchecked and only load 10 instances
That's actually a GREAT idea Leon, thank you so much for sharing!! But that way I would need to rely on a database instead of checklist right? Meaning I might click into the page by mistake etc. I'll give this a try though!

I downloaded your template and I am loving it. One problem - you mention on the Daily To-Do's you can edit the settings. I am not seeing that gear icon anywhere near my list. What am i doing wrong?
You need to expand the template button
Jeff, do you have any suggestion to keep completed tasks visible? With moving them to archive the information when they were 'done' is lost. I think it could boost one's motivation to keep going/tracking if at the end of the week completed tasks would stay on screen.
But that would take up the entire screen right 😂. You could keep them under a toggle I guess but I specifically *don't* want to see completed tasks the next day haha (I like to start clean)

"Highlight" is the activity of the day with the highest priority, and which is also protected in the calendar. Daily tasks are the other activities with not so high priority?
Some of the things in the book are not new, including the ideas of what you can do to avoid being distracted. You also have self-reflection in your Agenda. "Let go" is a point for activities that did not go well and for things that you should rather "let go" of in the future?
"Let go" for me are things that are bothering me (for example I forgot to say hi to my colleague) and it's really not a big deal so I should let it go :)

I have adopted your system and it works quite well. Maybe you should make a video about your complete workflow, from the first idea to the task ;)
I do it like this:
- first planning and "bird's eye view" on a project with Craft
- Collecting ideas, tasks also long term tasks in Things 3 (Todoist might be better because of faster input through the natural language).
- Tracking of goals, projects in Notion (content tracker, goals tracker, project tracker....)
- (New) daily/weekly tracking = your agenda in Notion (inspired by "Make Time" among others)
Are you able to make the title an auto-formatted date for each new agenda that is generated? The @Today doesn't seem to work.
I was thinking about that too to be honest haha, I don't have a solution. Let me know if you find one!
Congrats on your website being released, I am a big fan of Notion as well, in addition to notes about work and learning, I list monthly plans and reflect, especially checking the to-do and done items in order to adjust the coming plan. the structure and style of your template are much better than mine, then let's go off the topic, are you a Virgo?😊

You use the template button, you don't duplicate

I've been struggling with templates. I can't figure out what works better for me: Planning tasks on specific days of the week; or just plan overdue, today, upcoming.
Test each type for 1 week and see which resonates with you!

One thing I've recently been struggling with is how to set up my larger, long-term goals. Do you have any tips for setting up a yearly or 5-year plan?
Hi Felix, first off, thanks for the kind words! Regarding your question, I have a slightly controversial opinion: I think setting output goals is slightly overrated (e.g. I'm going to diet and get to 65 kg by year end). I'd instead recommend setting input goals you have 100% control over (e.g. I won't change my diet but I will go to the gym 3 times a week for at least 30 minutes for 6 months).

Compared to some of the real power users (like Thomas Frank) this is nothing 😂. I think Notion can easily handle my use cases haha

Jeff I have a question about salary negotiations! I decided to comment on ur newest video for a better chance at you seeing it. So I’m graduating and I have two full time offers. They both are offering me the same salary but one is in a city that is more expensive to live in. The recruiter called me yesterday, asked me what salary I wanted and I gave her a range, the mistake I made was the value I wanted was not the lower value in the range. She called me today and told me the offer would be sent in writing tmrw morning and ofc the salary is the lower figure of the range I gave her. I was super nervous so I said okay and thanked her. After looking at the price of one bedrooms in that city I realize that maybe I should’ve asked for more money. I’m a mechanical engineer and the salary was 65k, I’m thinking of asking for 75k but I already said yes to her over the phone. I’m afraid turning back now would ruin the dynamic I have w her and potentially ruin the job opportunity. Should I cut my loses or try to negotiate?

Onto your question - I'm very hesitant to give advice based on extremely limited information you have given me (and not knowing anything about your background and situation). But I can say if you can bring up the rental cost research when you reach back out to the recruiter that would be much better than just asking for a higher pay with nothing to back it up.

So if I said okay to the salary over the phone(since I have anxiety and I’m terrible with confrontation) and they send me the letter, with the salary that I said okay to would it be sort of bad practice to go back into negotiations(with the assumption that I do have a good case to make)?
