Writer: Tom DeFalco
Spider-Man and Loki discuss New York hot dogs, magic cases, and an impending threat named Morwen.

If there is one hero that can just chill with Loki while eating a hot dog it really would be spider man
i can just imagine the two developing like a loki anger scale and each time loki just shouts anything above an 8 thor calls up spidey to take loki away to let him relax
Spidy can chill with just about anyone.
it's why he's called "your friendly neighborhood spiderman" dude is incredibly chill with most people.
barry of marvel
Spidey can make Joker chill.
I kind of think Loki is the sort of person to look at something like a hotdog in disdain until he actually picks up the courage to try it.
Then it becomes his new favorite thing. But he won't admit it to anyone.
Like Squidward and the Krabby Patty.
in canon he (specifically "Ikol" loki) is a excellent chef and finds Midgardian food more exciting than the fair on Asgard
@@alexandermackenzie8949 thats so interesting how come we never see that
@@db5094 you actually do in a couple scenes in Agent of Asgards series he has Verity Willis over for dinner after moving into her neighbors apartment
and again he is having dinner with her when sigurd try's to steal loki's sword
That debt could have prevented "one more day"
AND PAUL
@@shadowsonicsilver6 debt was paid by then
You want to be technical: Doom could have prevented it. Peter went to Reed first, and he couldn't help Aunt May. If Peter was smart, the conversation with Doom would have gone something like; "Look, I know we aren't exactly on good terms, but you're a magical genius. If anyone could save my aunt, it'd be you." "Doom has no time for such nonsense. What happens to your family is of no concern to me." "... Alright. Mr. Fantastic couldn't help her, should have known you couldn't help either." [Thundercrack as Doom slams his fist down on his throne] *"BRING YOUR AUNT TO ME. I WILL ENSURE SHE OUTLIVES THE VERY STARS!"*
@@Umbra_Ursus didn't doom once tell spiderman he owed him one too?? Spiderman rejected it, but I'm not sure doom's pride would accept that
@@kazemizu yup, after cap told doom about it, spiderman told him to shove it. But damn, exploiting doom's ego like that would have been big brain 😂
I love that Spidey is consistently the guy who even villains are willing to talk to and hang out with. Everyone loves this guy on some level.
Expect the writers
@@koalafromtomorrow5656 except the writers. everyone loves parker.
Still waiting for Loki to pay back the favor *ahem* Paul
Back when loki became sorcerer supreme, he tricked spiderman into using the debt to save the life of someone else
@@kazemizu In fairness he offered Peter the chance to be rich again but Peter said no.
@@henrypeters5291 yes, but at the same time, I doubt he didn't know Peter would say no. If anything, it seems more like he manipulated him into causing the accident that forced him to use the debt. If he had tried, he probably could have offered something Peter would have agreed to like cure some random people in a hospital of their cancer.
@@kazemizu Fair enough
Don't know about you guys but I see Paul's involvement a blessing in disguise. This way Peter can have relationships outside of MJ like strengthening his bond with Silver Sable or Carlie Cooper again
I love how this uber-powerful, supposedly evil Asgardian develops some respect for our friendly, neighborhood Spider-man. And this happened not only due to fighting a shared foe, but also because of the little timeout they shared over NYC hot dogs.
Probably because Spider-Man treated him with respect and not immediate disdain
I can't remember from where - reading it in a comic book or seeing it in a movie - but somewhere, I think I learned that Spider-man is crazy for Gray's Papaya hot dogs.
Am I remembering correctly?
A lot of villains and heroes have a great deal of respect for Spidey. No matter where your alignment falls his honor and integrity are impossible to deny. Most of his villains seem to just be annoyed that he’s in their way, or they hate him because he refuses to look away from the good in him that they don’t want to acknowledge. He’s what almost all heroes aspire to be
Cool fact about Loki, he had accidentally killed Dr. Strange's dog Bats and decided to bring Bats back to life as a ghost dog and even gave him the ability to speak.
Being honest, Loki would get tired of being a big villain someday, and after "Betraying" all his friends and family, a stranger like spider man, who is easily forgiving would be the only person he could share a bind with, because even people like Enchantress and Thanos would end up betraying Loki in fear of being betrayed themselves, like seen after he was betrayed by Hela
Interesting, this took place in 2004....seven years before Tom Hiddleston made Loki popular and shifted to an anti-hero
There was still subtlety of characterization in comics in the early 2000s. And Loki was actually capable of doing good occasionally, when it was in his interests.
@@danieldickson8591nope
@@danieldickson8591 He isn't really a villain in Norse mythology. The actual bad guys there are giants and dark elves. Most of the stories about him are supposed to be comical. He kind of got carried away with a series of pranks.

i still remember the horse story.
I have a feeling Loki didn't get the chance to eat his hotdog
Saddest part of all of that
Maybe if he didn't waste time poking and staring at it like a picky toddler.
@@meredithhughes9400 i would stare at my food too if it didn't look like anything I'm used to.
@@meredithhughes9400 would you eat like an Alien food
that you have no idea what it is?
And this is why Spidey is the GOAT.
He can throw down, sure and can rip a guys jaw off like tissue paper, but at the end of the day its his ability to connect with people, friend and foe alike when they need it the most
Spider-man at the end: Hey I was close.
Spider Man is one of the rare heroes that could actually sit and talk with low-key villains and possibly talk them into reforming... though his smart mouth might get in the way of this at times.
Spiderman and the Flash (Wally, not Barry) both see their villains as human beings. Even if the villains are irredeemable.
@@macmcleod1188 Barry does too
I like how loki and spiderman are just chilling shooting the breeze now that the fights over.
This is my kind of comic.
And then the breeze ruined it.
"Must've been the wind"
@@AlaskanGhost "the wind is pushing me"
I just said the greatest hero in marvel was spiderman because of WHO he is, not what he does. This then falls into my lap like an act of providence. Chaos incarnate itself chills with him like an old friend.
now this is a pairing that you don't see very often, I would like to see more if possible.
I love seeing odd pairing of characters; like this one time in Transformers Prime where Arcee was mad about something and just wanted to go on a mission, didn’t care what it was or with who, and she ended up going on a mission with a character she had hardly interacted with up to this point…Wheeljack.
Also before the third season Wheeljack wasn’t a main cast character, he’d just show up occasionally.
@@spartanvenom5388 I forgot about that episode.
Man, I never knew that being 26 would make me feel so old.
@@everfree4175 I’m about to be 22 in mid July, but I sometimes get that feeling too.
Or that time when She-Go turned good and hung out with Kim Possible. They had a good time.
She turned evil again but I don't see why they still couldn't hang out at the mall on her day off or something.
“Loki?! What’d you do to my hotdog? You didn’t spit in it, did you?”
“I thought about it. Even I am not that evil.”
Rhino, Loki...is there any bad guy Spidey won't spring for a dog and a soda for?
...and as to his question, does anything say "New York" more than a dog, I would say that the pizza would like a word.
i don't think anyone could just sit down and have time-off with Red Skull. Not even Spidey...
Carnage, Knull, Maestro, Dormammu, Arnim Zola, Ultron, Norman Osborn(Before he was cleansed), Klaw, Kron Stone, the Purple Man, Bullseye, Annihilus, Baron Wolfgang Von Strucker, Malekith the Accursed, Mephisto, Mister Sinister, maybe the Sentinels.
There it is. A NY slice of pizza. That is the answer.
And why not get a steak at one of the fancy steak places?
@@neosolitudexevermore4895 I mean, there's that one time Spidey and Goblin stopped fighting so he could tell him about his dream. Osborn was not cleansed then
@@n30dark Well, my point still stands with the others.
Love how Loki has a different, more regal looking font
Loki isn't really a bad guy, just a lonely dude that wanted to people around him.
So Loki can see through the fourth wall and knows their reality is a comic book and Spider-Man is the most tortured superhero ever because all of his writers seem to have some sadistic pleasure in making him suffer like no other. I feel like Loki could easily make Spider-Man into a supervillain just by dropping a few truth bombs on him.
In this particular issue, Loki and Spidey gets along really well. Spidey can see some of himself in Loki
When you have someone like spider-man and the god of mischief hanging out together and talking you know it's time to get the hell out of there because nothing good comes from this no matter which hero is with loki at the time 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
0:42 Who tf put spaghetti on his hot dog

Ultimate spiderman reference?
@@danielecomotti7675 yup
I understood that reference
Hey Peter, when dealing with magic folk, it ain't so much the quality of the food that matters as it is the quality of the hospitality. Good hosts with bad food generally get better benefits than bad hosts with good food.
It's a good point, because in magical circles hospitality is often sacred and great care needs to be taken in accepting it to be sure that it's given free of obligation, so that you don't find yourself owing a mystic debt to a powerful being that can enforce it.
isn't spademan's power sort of magic/divine ins away?? ya know madam spider/spider totem and all that?? and is Peter not, as they say in DC a fix point in time??
Loki and spider man gobbling glizzys on a rooftop
🤨
Spider-man is one of the few normal people-ish Super Heroes you can just talk to.
Without his powers Peter is basically just a normal guy doing what normal people struggle with.
So I can see a lot of villains' and heroes just chatting with him like a friend when it comes right to it.
Reminds me of one version of the Flash who just helps his villains' and spends time with them.
Spider-Man is one of the ultimate pranksters. He and Johnny Storm proved this. So the fact that the God of Mischief is willing to chill with him kinda fits lol
The Mariah joke is a reference to paint your wagon with Lee Marvin and Clint Eastwood.
I was thinking, but then Christmas is Mariah Carey won in my case
i threw me that was a fun reference
“No more Gwen” was wild😭
That's a crunchy sounding fucking hot-dog. Might wanna return that.
Onion crisps on top probably idk
toasted bun goes great with a good ole dog
I just can't get over the crunching while eating hotdogs
I love it when they have Spiderman just sitting somewhere with a villain or someone else and talking, especially if street cart food is involved. We get to see a different side of the villain and most of them tend to actually listen back to the wall crawler.
Imagine Loki god of stories chilling with Spider-Man in the MCU like this.
Really!?! A "Paint your wagon referance??" Awesome! Lol

"Go back to Philly where you came from, as a west coast native, sounds like the harshest interstate burn imaginable. When i delivered pizza in California the staff at my place referred to the branch just south of us as "Mayberry" for being so relatively low crime that the entire county could be patrolled by Andy Griffith.
Sounds like more respect than some versions of Avengers give Spiderman.
Eat the damned hot dog, Loki!
I always know that Loki and Spiderman able to sit chit-chat and talk therapy when in free time...
Friendly neighbourhood Spiderman offer him free counselling, how I wish I could see more in live action movie about this
Eventually all comics will just be about everyone hanging out. Like Teen Titans Go. Good show.
That’s a crunchy dog😂
Why are the hot dogs…crunchy…?
Maybe it has straw potatoes in the middle.
Raw onions? Crispy bun?
That's more important to know than why spiderman is with loki to be honest.
That's the green bits
Crunchy frozen hot dog, Manhattan classic
Seeing Loki eat a hotdog makes me think of people who get surprised when eating foreign food😊
“Oh my god this is great”
i would be perfectly happy if there were a comic series of people kind of just approaching spider-man for advice and spider-man acts unintentionally like a therapist for other heroes, inspiring them all to be better or help them through there problems. i've seen a few comics like that were spider-man just hangs out with other heroes on rooftops and just have nice conversations, usually over food
Spiderman sharing hotdogs with anybody i guess
I’ve learnt that Spider-Man shares food, with a lot of people who 😂
Paint Your Wagon reference, i like it.

That hotdog was so crunchy! Is toasted hotdog bun some hidden New York thing I don't know about?
I hate hearing something soft sound crunchy. That hotdog should not sound like that

I love that despite the sheer amount of heroes local to NY, it's Spiderman who is unashamedly a local lad by all definitions of the term-and this being the same city that Ben Grimm lives in.
Spider-Man: Mariah?
Loki: No, its not November yet.
I was expecting Loki to end up loving the hotdog and developing an unhealthy addiction to them. Kinda like how Beerus became obsessed with instant ramen.
Keep in mind this was before Loki went full-blown antihero, so seeing him just casually chilling with a big-time hero and not trying to trick or manipulate them was kinda rare.
Even Pete was like “oh God no not her again, IT’S NOT EVEN CHRISTMAS YET!” 😂
????
One of the few comics I have actually owned as a kid. Green bits part lives rent free in my head
i feel like spiderman is the only superhero who anybody could relate to, hero or villain or even a civilian, he is a hero but he understands villains and he also understands civilians cause when he is without his hero suit he acts like any ordinary guy, he doesn't have a bigger ego cause he saves people, he still struggles with jobs and small stuff that all people do
Spider-Man: Into the Junk Food Verse
Oh, I just got the Mariah joke.
Mariah Carey.
The Snow Queen.
Actually, no. There's a song from the classic hit Broadway musical, Paint Your Wagon, titled, "They Call the Wind Mariah." It's by Lerner and Loewe, 1951. Very popular in its day, and has become a "standard" song for many artists. Paint Your Wagon was made into a movie in 1969.
How old are you 16??? No there is a Song Called "They call the wind Mariah" from the 50-60s.
@@beingsneaky I’m 27 and my entire generation associates the name Mariah with Mariah Carey we associate Mariah Carey with Christmas. Christmas is associated with Winter and winter is associated with Snow.
My generation also associates the word Queen with Mariah Carey
Therefore
Mariah Carey is the Snow Queen
Mariah Carey controls the Snow which also means she controls the wind.
Loki is an Ice Giant, Ice is SNOW, therefore, Mariah Carey is Loki’s Queen.
Mariah Carey is Loki’s helping wind.
that mariah jab from spiderman
I’m just firm this point on going to assume that Spider-Man can have a conversation with anyone over a hotdog now
So... The first Avengers movie could've been avoided if someone just gave Loki a hot dog with fries and soda, and talk to him?
That's.... fair. I also love hot dogs with mustard and soda. Best combo after beer and pizza.
A New York Hotdog is the American way.

I'm not even gonna question how those two meet and just chill out. I'm more curious at how good are those hotdogs if Spiderman is sharing them with Loki.

I'm just imagining all the villains and heroes that have chilled with Spider-Man finding out someone actually killed him. I'm curious if the heroes could get to the dude or if the villains would.

Peter's a true good guy. He's not letting Loki's past prevent them from spending a moment together to share a meal. He'll break bread with just about anyone, so long as they're not trying to kill him. Hell, he played poker with The Kingpin. He recently made peace with Venom. The dude is the embodiment of "Friendly". Just don't threaten his neighborhood.
Funny thing is that Loki liked Hot Dogs, and has been shown eating them afterwards. (Remember when he moved Hulk from Banner to Spidey?)
I wonder if people know "They Call the Wind Mariah" any more. If they know "Paint Your Wagon" at all, it's from that "Simpsons" episode.
Loki doesn’t seem like he would have time for Spidey’s nonsense.
Loki likes Spiderman. He sees his jokes and the chaos he brings to his battles and the fun Peter has. As a representation of himself. He called Spiderman his mortal Champion.
