I don't understand, how can it be this easy? Why isn't everyone rich from this? Buy 100 shares of a stock that is dying, keep selling covered calls as strike prices you know it can't hit and keep the premium and the stock and repeat every 14-30 days. Am I missing something?
So in doing this can you be forced to sell before the contract date if the stock were to go above the price the call price was set at before that date?
No, covered call works best as passive income and has the least risk in comparison to regular calls and put options, it doesn’t work as a day trading strategy.
Question: as we placed our order for 1 call option on the 100 shares and the quantity said 1 next to it says shares so did we execute this order correctly?? Shouldn’t it be 100 if a standard contract represents 100 shares??

Exactly what I'm thinking. I have a stock that I know is going to go down and this looks like a good way to keep them but lower my cost average.

You have two iron clad variables # 1 strike price and #2 xpiry the strike must be met irredardless period

1 contract is 100 shares of whatever you're selling or buying. The 1 stands for the contract
