My dad had a Citroen Xsara Picasso by far comfiest car I have ever been in its really reliyeble and good for the family and I know I’m 3 years late but this car is a great one I recommend it for camping ,fishing and lots more it’s just my dream car as well so yeah I do recomnd it!
yes i like them, they are really handy
Thank you sir for great review, I buy picasso one month ago, it is fantastic car, if you drive few hours you will came fresh at home and not tired, it is cruising spaceship :)
Very versatile and excellent value for money, enjoy and thanks for watching
Film yourself doing it Barry.
@@BarrieCrampton danke
The best advert for this car is how many older ones are still out there. Great car, extremely reliable and easy to operate and work on. These will be no doubt a future classic, I wish I had a big barn somewhere and I would be buying a few up and selling them in ten years or so.
They are reliable my dads is a 2 liter diesel and he got it when i was born and im 16
The purdy channel ur such a liar unless you live in 2023
@@miningaway5682 ...HA HA the road tax on a 2 litre is £330 a year he must not be good at maths like his father that bought that tax guzzler.
Waste of a barn!
@@pencilme1n Ok. what would be in your barn?
I admit the car is ugly but it is as versatile as a people carrier can be
not if you park it next to a Fiat Multipla
My uncle gave me one 6 years ago, I thrash it everywhere and it still goes strong.
We had a Citroen Picasso the same as this one. But it didn't have reversing sensors though.
bang
I have model of 2008 =12 years and no problem it is good car !!!
vaggelis_s really great cars, theres a guy on twitter who is looking for people to drive his car as its done 480,000 miles and he wants to get it to 500,000 😎
Got one from 2006. And still driving it. Next week we are going on a trip. 800 miles to Italy.
I’m about to buy my first car ever, I really like this car, so spacious and I love space. I’ve found one that has about 200k miles and from 2006/7 and just over €2000.
I've used a Xsara Picasso for several years working all over the Country - what a sensible car. Nothing has really replaced it's practicality.
Not only is it comfortable to travel in, but it makes a wonderful office space with masses of storage - no centre console makes it easy to stretch out across the front seats and to get through to the back, but best of all with the central rear seat removed there's a perfectly flat bed - where I've spent many a comfortable night.
I'd love Citroen to listen and make such a versatile vehicle again. . . . unfortunately manufacturers seem to think all buyers want a hard riding cramped suv with such small windows they've no alternative but to fit a cameras as visibility is so poor!
My first car this is, got a 2002 xsara picasso and erm..... lol it's had 10 owners I paid 300 for it, had the collapsible trolly in the boot, I've done it all up and the funny thing is the brakes were never changed since the car was made, not once, the mechanic I went to was angry at the end of the day, I took it to him at 8am and he finished the job around 5:40pm
i have the 2004 LX, paid £100 for it, all it needed was 3 bulbs for its MOT with 2 advisories, a tyre and corroded brake hose, which i replaced straight away, i know these picasso are prone for sills rusting
@@paddyici6629 Yep and mine are just starting show bubbling
Great cars these i got the Diesel HDI 1.6 same year as this and colour. This is the most popular colour around i have noticed. The only fault with these cars which i have noitced so far is the sills rust on the drivers side which i think this is due to water getting in and rotting it out over time
Had the rust both sides on the one I had. I too had the 1.6 diesel and the car was at around 195k miles before I sold it (wish I didn't) and in the time I owned it I never really had a problem, only usual things like a spring needing replacement. Really great car.
@@johns4247 Great cars mine however has developed like a relapse on the gear change as if the clutch is slipping but it's not as it would do it all the time and it doesn't. This only happends when the car as been on a run and is warmed up. i also have a small oil leak which i am guessing could be a seal which i got to check but other then this the car is great. Just had to change the battery as that recently died couple of weeks ago. By the way my car is only on 78k 2007 Year
Would not fault them, I had a 1.8, comfy on long journeys, good for the dual carriageway and motorway thrash.
Yep
Paint colour same as my dads arctic silver metalic
60mpg is possible from the 1.6 hdi which has a civilised way of delivering the power.
great cars, very economical
@@BarrieCrampton I've had my 07 plate since new with 115,000 miles. Remarkably it's still on the original exhaust. Also the original clutch, starter, alternator, cam belt, everything except tyres and battery.
Drivers seat adjustment is crap, it has a big lever, if pulled the seat springs right forward & nearly knocks you & is very heavy to push back, you have to lift the lever with one hand & push back the top of seat with the other hand, the seat doesn't move up & down it sort of goes in arc, pointless/ridiculous.
sounds like yours has an ejector seat fitted, i don't remember seeing that on the price list
@@BarrieCrampton, film yourself doing it Barry.
that would get a few views :-)
"lift the lever with one hand & push back the top of seat with the other hand..."
I hope you do realize by now! That you're supposed to be in the seating position while performing the adjustments. Unless you're a starving 12 year old kid, the body weight of ANY adult. Is plenty enough to adjust/push the seat to whatever position desired. It's a one hand operation! LOL 😂
I hate rattles too!
i would rather walk than put up with rattles
thinking of getting one of these, to use as a van
should do the job
@@BarrieCrampton hope so, van prices and insurance have got mental lol
Wow, only 50000 miles. Thought it would have double that!
yep. low mileage and great value
Hello. What you recommend for a family, a Citroen Xsara like this one that you reviewed or a VW Touran? Both cars are from same years
Might surprise some, but being within the same price/features/condition, etc. I would go for the Citroen! Never mind the fact that I'm on my second one, by preference! ;-)
cills go big time on them
nice car! i see the bulbs lighting the digital dash need changing though which is a nice easy job
Yes, two minute job unlike some other cars.
Are they good cars to learn in
I would have thought it was a little to big to be honest, however if you can drive ok in this, you can drive ok in anything
@@BarrieCrampton thank
Barrie Crampton would it be okay for it to be a first car when you are confident
I’m wondering why I’m watching this when I have the C4 Picasso 2008 on an 08 plate
I have owned C4 Picasso 2011, I know why. Gone back to Xsara 2006!
@@petercrosland5502 - I've had one of the first Xsara Picasso 1.6HDI, bought new with top trim level. Sold it 4 years later (Still regret selling it)!
Got another car, which didn't pleased much. Went back to Citroen to get another! But by then they suspended the sales of the Xsara Picasso. So it didn't cannibalize the sales of the, at the time, new C4 Picasso! But the C4 never made my mind!
Several years after, got another one of this, now with the 1.6 petrol used and unfortunately quite beaten up. Love the car, among others still have this one!
Beside the air cooled VW Beetle of which I had 4 of them! This is the only "everyday" "all day" car I had more than one!
Brilliant design and a lot of car for the money! ;-)
What made you buy the car?
Came in part exchange against another one
Maravilhoso
This car is really really beautifull for the 2007
NezoR. It has been well looked after
It's probably had new sills now or scrapped.
its 14 years old now, its still on the road and going strong, so I am afraid that you are way off the mark, great cars, great value for money
@@BarrieCrampton I stand corrected but Xsara Picasso's like to rust around the sills. I've haven't seen one that's not needed them.
@@jaggass i have one and mines are fine shsst
