This was a great video. I was able to change water pump. My only issue I had to remove engine mounts like in the video to get it out. Great video thanks guys!!
Great video, thank you! This procedure is very similar for a 2006 Elantra. Many others state that the water pump can only be removed when replacing the timing belt (2006's have belts whereas I believe yours has a chain); while I agree it is potentially worthwhile to do both at the same time, it really is not that much work (as you have aptly illustrated) to do so whenever the pump needs to be replaced. Frankly, I think doing the water pump at the same time creates many opportunities for things to go wrong. I believe in preventative maintenance, but I am not entirely confident that replacing a functioning water pump is worthwhile, JUST because you have already removed a motor mount and a few other bolts. I appreciate your great videos.
My 2016 Hyundai Elantra SE 1.8 has a automatic tensioner and I couldn’t find anyone with a video with a similar set up to what I have, it needs a 17mm wrench to lift it up and release the tension on the belt in my case it wouldn’t budge at all, loosening the top bolt on the alternator and taking off the little bolt on the bracket to drop it down was the only way I was able to pull the tensioner arm up and get a new belt on
I have an issue with my 2013 Hyundai Elantra 1.8 the top hose off the radiator is hot and the one that goes to where the water pump is is cold does that mean the water pump is no good I also have no heat
hi , your engine room is very clean , are you washing it by water only , or by some special liquids my engine room very dirty , aim afraid from washing it can you give me an idea to reach like you, thanks
Good day guys, i have 2011 hyundai elantra 1.8 gls. Ifitted new thermostat and radiator cap. Radiator is clean. Had a gas leakage test done, all is ok but water keeps being pushed out of radiator into expansion tank and sometimes fills up to the top. WHAT CAN BE THE PROBLEM??????? THANK YOU, HENRY.
Seems dramatic For those of you that don't own a Jack and still want To Do it? I'm pretty sure you could just get the alternator out of the way and do it that way give you the even more clearance and view of what. You're doing you don't want to mess that pomp up and have To Do it again have a leak. Is what? I'm saying look so ye seems a little dramatic still of awaited do it but. All that Jack and all that. Why do you all that when you can just get that Alternator out 2 bolts on the assuming plus the ground on the power.

Have you checked to see if the radiator cap is faulty? Maybe change that. It's easy to do and cheap, too. Try that first. Make sure the car's engine is cold before you try to remove the radiator cap. Never remove a cap on a car that's engine is hot

Can you make videos with a Hyundai Entourage 2008, please?
Can you access everything from the wheel well
So you don't have to remove the timing belt and timing cover to replace the water pump? Looking at doing this on 2008 model Elantra
2008 doesn't apply to 11+ models
Someone knows if 2005 is the same procedure

Hey I’m having the same problem did you find out what’s wrong
Blown head gasket.
@@raymcnulty5252how can you tell for sure ?
Do you have to jack up the engine or did it just make it easier?
you have to jack up the endgine its a shame how hyundai designed it, its almost as if they want to make it very difficult to replace the water pump..
@@sodacan01 shut up all modern cars do it this way some of them even make you buy special tools because the water pump is ran off the engine timing

How tight should the belt be when reinstalling it?!
How do you replace the thermostat on a 2013 Hyundai Elantra 1.8
My recommendation: fast forward video through the bolt removal process or any etc. when you post videos.
No that gives a good idea of how long bolts are and how hard it is to get to them
Damn I was hoping to change my own after watching this, but goddamn 😳 that's a lot of work. I think ima just take it to a repair shop.
You got it bro!
The old pump came out like brand new one
Why didn't you remove the alternator would of made it easier.
ThePariss333 aha lol
Yeah true if that was the easy options he didn't have to remove engine mount stuff little more of work getting stuck for hours lol.
Yeah I’m sitting here saying if I remove the alternator problem solve but good bud now I have the know how
Can you do a video how to change steering coupler on the elantra?
Check more on UA-cam.There is a video for that I did mine in about over an hour. And the part cost thirty five cents from the dealer
does the gasket need any kind of sealant?
@ThePariss333 The old one was dry also ... So no, no RTV
Seems dramatic

imagine that. an engine without any dirt. must be 2 miles on this car
All you need to do is remove the alternator
I’m going to do this but I’m just going to remove the alternator 😎😎
