No, because Weinstein was a sacrifice to protect the current and even more despicable regimes. Leslye is the new KK--there's no way they'll fire her under any circumstances.
KK would fire her in a hot minute if it meant clutching onto the reins of power with her long bony fingers... And in some respect that's why she hired her in the first place. LH came in with a reputation that meant if KK needed a scapegoat, she could use Headland as that scapegoat.
But as always the question is... Where did the 180m go if it didn't go into the production of the series? Back in the day people took 6 months to make 24 episodes with a 6 month break for pre production... then they'd be back at it. KK is giving us a show with a bloated budget, small run time... Where is the quality and quantity? Modern entertainment seems to have taken a downward revision across the board with very few exceptions.

@@HellBot-gi5si Given a light saber is a plasma blade, ... Breaking it in two would just damage the internal components. It shouldn't have been able to Function at all.. This wasn't cool, it was.. just.. dumb. It completely ignores the documented mechanics of the tool.. With how this was done.. the "hidden light dagger" thing.. was... dumb.. The internal components wouldn't be smaller on a light dagger outside it's power supply.. It's still a plasma blade generator after all. The handle for this would have had to be long enough for 2 and thus be unwieldy for combat use in it's first form.. a 2 handed blade at minimum,.. and at that point just have the blade be broad sword long..
so.. no.. it wasn't "awesome" it was visual nonsense without consideration of logistical workings for the tool. something important to Sci-fi..

Also, the use of Cortosis armor this is not well known even among the Sith but it is cannon and can short out a light saber. Why because people don't understand that a light saber is unstable.

It's obvious Darth Teeth was using armor/helmet made of cortosis. Cortosis is a SW Universe metal (known to be brittle) that interrupts the operation of lightsabers for a short time. Mae's hair has always been longer. I first noticed this during the second episode.
Something else SW geeks will notice is a Dark Side user using force healing. Dark Side users cannot use the force to heal without Sith Alchemy. Force healing requires the wielder to be highly compassionate. They also must be empathetic and unselfish. Two traits a Dark Side of the Force user can not achieve. This is a rare ability among the Jedi. Anakin Skywalker was frustrated he was unable to use force healing.
The whole "mind reading" is silly. Force users quickly learn early how to create a "force shield." Breaking through this shield is nearly impossible unless a force user is extremely powerful.
It's obvious that the writers of this series (along with Headland) do not have in-depth knowledge or don't care about what is already in canon. In short, this series is completely offensive to the Star Wars Universe and its fans.
Disney took all the dwarves out of Snow White and put them in the Acolyte.

I hope everyone remembers to be critical of Agatha when that show comes out and not just give it a pass for being Marvel. I know Marvel isnt in as negative a place in many fans' eyes as Star WArs. But THIS project should be looked at with a critical eye especially since on paper, it sounds a lot like The Acolyte, lesbian witches with pretty lights.
I won’t be negative, because I stopped caring about Marvel years ago. Star Wars still holds enough morbid curiosity for me that I want to know how much of a train wreck this show is. After this, I’ll have nothing to care about as far as the franchise is concerned.
They need to retire KK because she causes too much trouble in the fandom. We are ALL fans else we wouldn't be making such a fuss. Both sides are being PLAYED off against each other. After this we need to come together and show whoever is coming into our fandom that they won't succeed tearing our societies apart at the cultural level. Cos thats really whats going on here.. The people sending death threats and screaming about nonsense. For this to happen Kathleen Kennedy HAS TO GO. She had a fair shot and has driven the franchise into the ground. Retire her quietly so she doesn't lose face because her Rey film will be a failure. There is obvious money scamming going on under her tenure and that will come out if she stays any longer. If she goes this thing will make money again. Both sides will learn to get along and everything will be cushty.

I remember prior to TLJ release in theaters Rian Johnson saying his goal is for 50% of the audience to love his movies, and for 50% to hate his movies. That’s fine if making an original indy movie, but horrible if making a sequel to a widely popular series like Star Wars you want to be successful and have a wide appeal and very large audience, AND sell merchandise, then have subsequent sequels. So what you’re talking about was done knowingly. Or does KK truly have zero business sense ? Like when she declared the force is female. Nothing like excluding 50% of the human population. That’s new levels of dumb for something Disney paid 4 billion for.

I'm not watching The Acolyte, but based on the short clippings I saw:
If Qimir’s gauntlet is made of Cortosis Ore, they are misusing it. In the old EU, they wisely limited its usefulness, otherwise everyone would be using it to stop lightsabers. With enough of an impact it temporarily short-circuits lightsabers; however, Cortosis itself was brittle.
The short lightsaber Qimir used to kill Jeckie (stabbed 3x) could be a Shoto. In the old EU, Luke used a Shoto, in tandem with his lightsaber, to defeat Lumiya and her lightwhip. Lumiya could also manipulate people in their dreams, get into their heads.
“Smylo Ren” mentioned something about dreams in an earlier episode. Yord told Osha that he (supposedly referring to Smylo Ren) gets in your head and stays there; Osha responded that her Mother (Koril? Aniseya?) did that too. It was mentioned for a reason--perhaps that Mother will end up being the Sith Master. Perhaps someone has been in Osha’s head (blackouts), and in Mae’s head (maybe SHE was the one being brainwashed since she was young).
Perhaps Master Vernestra Rwo will end up being the Sith Master. In the trailer, she wields the lightwhip, which in the EU wasn’t a Jedi weapon. However, they could just be setting up Qimir conveniently having the Shoto (in tandem with his lightsaber) to battle Vernestra. Just like Luke.
Osha stopped Sol from killing Qimir in his anger and hate (after Jeckie and Yord were killed), which would have caused him to fall to the dark side.
Everything in this show is so CONTRIVED to get the ridiculous outcomes they want in the easiest and quickest ways possible, without proper development/treatment-just as was done in the ST, with “Jake” Skywalker. It’s all being reduced to nothing but misdirections, spectacle, and agenda.
This reminds of a third-grade school production w/made-at-home costumes based on 2nd-hand comic books,
with the kids forgetting their lines and an off-stage teacher stage-whispering the correct ones,
and then the kids turn to grin at their parents every time they DON'T trip over their costumes or forget their lines.
So, please correct me if I'm wrong. The guy that made the poison, that was was an accessory to murder for killing a master Jedi, the guy that was LET GO by the Jedi. Is a Sith? You're fricking kidding me!
Not to say they did anything clever in this show, but I think I understand what happened at the end with Discount Ezra Miller/Smilo Ren/Darth Gimpus and Osha. Osha passed his test. She "killed" him without using a weapon-she used a flashlight. That explains why he was trying to kill her earlier but wants her as his Acolyte at the end. It's certainly better than him freeing Mae before trying to kill her. Basically, when writing this show, there were key points they wanted to hit, but they don't care how stupid their execution is or how contrived the connections are.

In episode 5 they killed off the prettiest female in the show (granted she was a cheetah girl). As an American male, I typically will not watch anything unless there is an attractive female in it......the actress who played Jecki was the best cast member on the entire show....she did a great job being cute yet viscious, being a great follower yet highly intelligent, and her fight scene was one of the best I've ever seen from a girl her age and her size....all of her strikes were very convincing and powerful....I'll probably never know this actress's name, but I truly believe that she was the silver lining in this entire series....
Her name is X-23.
I would still hire the Korean guy for a new Star Wars series. He is awesome.

I mean, sure, we all would've laughed it off but knew she was serious. Also a damn light saber or Beskar sword would've been cool but we get damn throwing knives.

How do you go from being a personal assistant to HW to becoming a show runner for a major release on DS+? The skills from that job do not translate to the other. Something doesn’t add up. She has to have dirt on Hollywood executives.
31:00 To be fair, thrusting (if a path is available) is faster than swinging. However, lightsabers are massless, so swinging one would be done with the wrist instead of arm. Fighting with lightsabers would look very different than sword fighting.

The bad guys gauntlet and helmet are made of cortosis, a metal that makes lightsabers malfunction. It’s from legends. The orange stuff is just dirt. Kinda like the red sand from the door buster scene in the sequels. Looks like spice from dune. The second lightsaber is calnakas which is pulled out when her lightsaber was deactivated by the gauntlet, and then cut in half shortly after. Leaving her with her blade only.

Focusing on the padawan fight scene is misplaced IMO because the context is so stupid. There is no way in hell a teenage padawan still in lightsaber training is going to be able to stand against a Sith in any capacity, even Darth Twinkus the Lame. She should have died within 1 to 2 strokes. Before anyone goes on and on about how Obi-Wan fought Darth Maul as a padawan, Obi-Wan was one step away from becoming a full fledged Jedi Knight. Qui-Gon even said in The Phantom Menace that Obi-Wan was ready for the trials long before implying that he was holding Obi-Wan back. HE was capable to fight Darth Maul. The Acolyte has moronic writing and trash directing like a group of hacks writing fan fiction thinking it should be canon.
It is incredibly stupid that a padawan was more competent than both the knights and Master Sol.

The red dust looks more and more like the Red Gas from Poppy's Playtime. Everyone gets hypnotized by it and starts to attack everything and everyone as anyone inhaling that gas will start to have horrible hallucinations.

Personal opinion, in regards to the question around the 15 minute mark about a Jedi being able to headbutt and break a lightsaber hilt. I would only say yes if the Jedi was maybe a Dowutin, but that’s more due to being a Dowutin than a Jedi
