Hey Bob... It really depends on what kind of lights you are connecting. LIFX dont require a hub. But some of the older models of Hue do. As far as lights in groups i have seen up to 20 work with no issues. It depends on a few things when it comes to performance, but i never had issues with about that many.

Can you use Sonos Roam instead of an echo?
Do we need a hub for connecting lights? And how many lights can we connect to in groups?
